We usually have good experience with Harvey Norman but purchased an HP Smart Tank 7005 on advice from a young salesman. V expensive but ‘we’d save on ink’. We’re in our 80’s so don’t use much ink. The printer is useless. We’ve had Geeks2U here twice at $200 a pop - worked for a few days after. Doubt it’s under warranty but don’t know. We guess salesman was paid on commission. So disappointing. Show details

wrote a review three years ago—this is my update as of 1/4/26. I am incredibly relieved that I took out the extended warranty, because I’ve now needed to use it—and the experience has been exceptional, thanks to Divya. It’s genuinely hard to capture just how seamless she made the entire process. From organising the inspection of my faulty cooker… Read more

to arranging a full replacement, Divya handled everything with precision, efficiency and care. I had barely finished my phone call with her before I received confirmation that a replacement stove had already been ordered under my extended warranty. Within moments, I was able to select a delivery date. That level of responsiveness is rare. Divya stands out for her professionalism, deep product knowledge and, most importantly, her ability to act quickly and decisively. She removed all stress from what could have been a difficult situation. This is customer service at its absolute best. I cannot recommend her highly enough—she is a true asset to Harvey Norman Chadstone. For context, my original purchase was handled by Paul Faiman, who was equally impressive. He secured me an excellent deal—and then went further by beating a competing offer I found. From ordering on a Friday to delivery on Monday, and full installation completed by Thursday, the entire process was smooth and efficient. He also guided me through the extended warranty, which has now proven its value. Between Paul and Divya, this has been one of the most professional and efficient retail experiences I’ve had. Thank you again.

Purchased a Mac from Harvey Norman Wagga Wagga after clearly explaining I needed it to run Lightroom, Photoshop and a Leica microscope. I specifically asked if the recommended model would be suitable and was assured that it was. Within days, the computer became slow and frequently unresponsive, even running Lightroom alone. additional app causes freezing, making it unusable for normal everyday use.

Harvey Norman has refused a refund, treating this as “change of mind” despite the product not being fit for the stated purpose and being unable to supply a suitable replacement within a reasonable timeframe. I am now forced to escalate the matter through Fair Trading.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing high-value technical equipment from this store

Harvey Norman Taylors Lakes misled me about their Extra Care plan for a Roborock vacuum cleaner. They promised full replacement for faults, but refused to honor it. Consumer Affairs Victoria agreed this may violate Australian Consumer Law. Be careful when buying extended warranties here! #HarveyNorman #ExtraCare #ConsumerProtection

We visited Harvey Norman store on Marion Road Adelaide to request some help with our SMEG Range Hood. Anne-Marie, our original sales person totally saved the day, so I'd go back in a heartbeat! Firstly, we bought 7 items for our home and she listened to us carefully and showed us the products that would meet our needs. The ordering went smooth as silk. After the delivery we phoned her, as we couldn't get the washer ready on our own. She decided to come at lunchtime, fixed the machine herself(!), and as we waited for the (short) cycle to finish, she answered ?'s about the Dyson vacuum we bought, and the TV we wanted to buy after Christmas. She is so friendly, helpful and very skilled. HV should be really proud of this employee who cares so much for her customers!

Follow-up  · On a positive note, we bought a TV, it was installed and all is going well with it. Really like my LG washing machine and microwave too --- they work great. On a negative note, the Dyson vacuum's brush wouldn't rotate after less than 1 month's use. HN ordered a spare part, my son picked it up for us, and we tried it yesterday. It seems to be… Read more

In 2022, I purchased a Haier Washing Machine and included a Product Care Extended Warranty. That gave me 5 years cover. On Saturday, the front-loader flooded my laundry a seal which was showing damage, typical of what you see when you Google this… Read more

fault. Harvey Norman told me that the machine was out of the 2 year Manufacturer Warranty but that was a good thing, as that warranty would not cover this fault. I was told my 3 year Product Care does. I was told I would receive $550 credit and it was suggested that I should buy a new machine and it would be delivered, pending the credit, if I paid in full. I bought a new one, new warranty, total $927. I love it......but Product Care have denied liability so I am out of pocket. I could have had a handyman repair the old machine. Anyway, Harvey Norman have suggested that they take the new machine back and credit me, then they will give me back my old machine so that I can arrange for a private repair!!!! I wouldn't know how my old machine has been treated and stored........AND I do not want that. Consumer Protection is now involved under Australian Consumer Law. I even sent Harvey Norman a photo of the damaged seal before I went down the path of spending money on a new one. I am an old aged pensioner. No money to waste.

Follow-up  · Product Care refunded me $550 and their communication was great over the three weeks it took to resolve. At no time have I been contacted by Harvey Norman Joondalup, even though it was stated several times that they would be in touch. I no longer shop there or at any of their stores. It is not always about the lowest price. Good Customer Service counts and if I could score their management a zero, I would. They are not worth one star!!!!

$100. I said no as it is still under warranty and was then told they would waive the cost just this time. After 3 more days I was told that it needed to be sent to Sydney to the manufacture at my expense. After that I went and picked it up and took it to the O'Connor store, 1 hour from where I live. The tech support workers was amazing and my computer was fixed within a couple of hours. The tech support in the Malaga store do not know how to fix complex issues and I was also blamed for this happening, which was not the case. I will not be taking my computer back to Malaga unless they hire someone competent, as this was gross incompetency that I have ever experienced in 25 years.

Follow-up  · The O'Connor Harvey Norman have amazing tech support.Toby, Patrick and Aaron have been so helpful in getting my computer repaired. I will never go back to Malaga store until they get proper tech support who know what they are doing. At present computer is working fine.

Please re consider buying ANY tech from this store and Harvey Norman in general. I purchased a Lenovo laptop from Harvey Norman Loganholme in July 2025 after owning an Acer laptop for 10 years. I initially intended to purchase another Acer, but I was strongly advised by staff to choose the Lenovo model, along with a RAM upgrade, based on my needs… Read more

including work, study, and relocating overseas.

From the beginning, the laptop performed below expectations and was noticeably slow. Within approximately 8 months, the device suffered a major hardware failure.

After extensive troubleshooting with Microsoft support, I was advised it was likely a hardware issue requiring urgent in person diagnostics. A qualified local technician confirmed the SSD was operating at only 8 percent capacity, which is significantly below acceptable performance for a device of this age, and advised immediate repair to prevent further damage and data loss.

Before proceeding with repairs, my family contacted Harvey Norman Loganholme on two occasions. On both occasions, assistance was declined and we were advised it was a software issue and to seek help elsewhere, despite explaining the urgency and likely hardware fault.

Due to my reliance on the laptop for both employment and postgraduate study, and being located overseas, I had no reasonable option but to proceed with repairs locally. Delaying repairs would have risked further damage and complete data loss. This resulted in $520 in repair costs and approximately $1500 in lost income due to downtime.

Following this, I contacted the store with full documentation, including diagnostic reports and explanation of urgency. Mr Jack Stubbs responded on behalf of Harvey Norman Loganholme and confirmed that they would not provide assistance or reimbursement, stating that because the store was not given the opportunity to assess the device, my consumer claim would not be considered.

During this correspondence, Mr Stubbs also inferred that I should expect a basic system based on the price paid and that I should take accountability for purchasing a cheaper laptop. I found this response concerning. The laptop was recommended to me by staff based on my stated needs, and I do not consider it reasonable that a consumer should expect poor performance or a major hardware failure within months based on price point.

I understand the importance of assessment, however the alternatives suggested such as shipping the laptop internationally at my own expense or physically returning it to Australia were not practical or reasonable given the urgency of the fault and my circumstances. No clear or workable support solution was offered, and when I asked for further clarity on the further support which would have been provided so I was not without a working laptop, this was ignored.

In summary, my concerns are that the product did not perform as represented, and I was sold a laptop that was not fit for purpose, a major hardware failure occurred within a short timeframe, assistance was declined when first approached, and no reasonable resolution was provided despite clear evidence and extenuating circumstances.

This experience has resulted in significant financial loss and disruption.

I would encourage future customers to carefully consider after sales support, especially if purchasing a device for essential work or study purposes or if they may be located overseas during ownership.

This review reflects my personal experience and is shared to inform others.

I recently tried to purchase a Hisense washing machine from Harvey Norman. The Gepps Cross store didn’t have the model in stock and advised that the Woodville store did. could deliver it for $60, which seemed like a much better option. Everything appeared to be organised.

However, on Friday afternoon Harvey Norman called to say they would no longer deliver the washing machine because my suburb, Evanston, is considered too far and their drivers don’t go there.

It was frustrating to be told delivery was available and arranged, only to have it cancelled later due to the location. Clearer communication about delivery areas beforehand would have saved time and inconvenience.

I wasn’t offered an apology or any alternative. They have lost my business.

We have purchased many items from Harvey Norman in the past and have never had any issues. However, our recent experience has been very disappointing. We purchased a fridge and dryer together and provided one month’s advance notice for delivery on 08/02/2026. A confirmation text was received the day before, advising delivery between 2:00–5:00 pm.… Read more

Based on this, we gave away our existing fridge at 3:00 pm, expecting the new one to arrive shortly. At 4:00 pm, we received a call from the delivery contractor advising the delivery would be delayed until 7:00–8:00 pm due to issues earlier in the day. The contractor was rude and stated that any concerns should be directed to Harvey Norman, as he was “only a contractor.” This left us without a fridge for several hours on a Sunday evening. If delivery was going to be as late as 7–8 pm, would Harvey Norman have allowed us to collect the items from the store at that time? Please understand that customers’ time matters. This level of service is not what we expect from Harvey Norman, especially after being a loyal customer for many years.

My wife and I recently purchased a Smeg stove from Marion Harvey Norman store. One of the selling points was we were going to receive $100 back from Smeg. I am absolutely furious with Harvey Norman Campbelltown. I was a first-time customer and this experience has guaranteed I will never shop here again. I ordered a fridge over the phone and was sent a link to make payment — which I did immediately. I received the transaction receipt from Harvey Norman confirming the payment. Then, an hour later, I… Read more

received another request for payment. I called the store and offered to send a screenshot from my bank account. I was told to send it because the payment was “pending,” so I did exactly that. I even emailed afterwards saying that if there was an issue, I would come in, pay cash, and cancel the original transaction.

I heard nothing back… until I received a text with the delivery time. So naturally, I assumed everything was sorted. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

When the delivery drivers arrived, they asked for payment AGAIN. The driver called the store because I was standing there thinking, how is this possible? I’ve already paid! And then it got even worse.

The “manager” who got on the phone was incredibly rude, dismissive, and acted as if I was the problem. He demanded that I pay for the fridge a second time, or he would not allow the drivers to leave it. I explained that I had already provided proof of payment and sent all the screenshots they requested — he didn’t care. He snapped, “The money is not in my account,” as if that somehow makes it my fault.

Anyone who shops at Coles, Woolies, or literally any other store knows that card payments can take a couple of days to clear — yet they still let you take home the items you have already paid for. I have never once been told, “You can’t have your groceries until the payment clears.” It’s ridiculous.

To make matters worse, even the lovely delivery drivers said they often get put in awkward situations like this through no fault of their own. It’s unfair on customers and unfair on the drivers who are just trying to do their jobs.

Because of this experience, I no longer trust this so-called “trusted Australian brand.”

I have already escalated this to head office and will be taking it to the Office of Fair Trading. This was an absolutely awful shopping experience!

I am very happy with the Customer Service on Sunshine Harvey Norman..[Name Removed] treat me politely and priortise my order. Harvey Norman.

I was'nt inform by this Sales Consultant from Taylors Lakes from the beggining that Harvey Norman Sunshine have a display of the appliances in Sunshine that I want to view and she claimed the earliest I can have this gas stove is on Dec 12. I have no choice but to request an order and paid the full amount she didn't even told me that I can only put a deposit and pay the balance on delivery date.

I only found out from Goldline Brand Company that Sunshine have this display of Goldline Gas.

I went to Sunshine on Novemver 19 sighted the gas stove spoke to their Customer Service he is happy to give their stock to me as before I handed in a deposit to pick up the availability of these gas stove in Sunshine, I rang Taylors Lakes first their Customer Service If I can cancel my order on Dec 15 and their Customer Service told me that I can cancel and get a full refund since the product is not available even the Customer Service Sales Consultant from Sunshine told me I can cancel it since the product is not available to that store until Dec 12.

When I went back to Taylors Lakes that day. I was humiliated by the Sales Consultant making up heaps of stories such as I am not allowed to get a full refund for the services not delivered yet and if I cancel my order it will cost me 20 percent penalties? I was pretty upset of her embarrasing me in front of other Sales Consultant trying to convince me that I am not allowed to do it and the person I spoke about the policy of refund is just new on his job and putting down the Employee that he is st>pid not providing the proper information.

I told her it is not my problem if your Customer Service is not fully trained it is not my issue as far as I am is concern I consulted 2 Customer Service Inquiry at Sunshine and Taylors Lakes both advised me I can refund the product not servicely rendered to me.

I asked for the Manager to Intervene due to her nagging attitude. The Manager came in by the time she made a decision to refund me it took them one hour and a half to battle and told them I will complain to Consumer Affairs in refusal of cancelling the order . The Manager gave up and gave me a nasty look treatment after I finally got a full refund what a horrible experienced I had atTaylors Lakes Harvey Norman. I will never go back to that store again.
