Think twice before you buy!
What a disaster, ordered a three piece lounge suite 17/8 from Moss Vale, which was in stock. When delivered the three seater was damaged was returned to store for repair.
After many phone calls finally the lounge arrived 14/10 with bits missing...the repair isnt great with what appears to be just pieces of wood placed over the broken piece and nail gunned into place, I thought the broken piece would have been replaced and feel the integrity of the frame is compromised once again returned to store was told I would receive a call back same day to date not yet received. Not a happy customer... still waiting in trepidation.

Worst customer service experience
I placed an order on 4/10/19. The website does not state that the item is being shipped from the supplier. It is deceptive as it implies that it is in some warehouse in NSW. Mind you, the delivery fee was $150! We had beds delivered for much less.
I received only one email with no tax invoice after the purchase.
A few days passed and no contact was made.
My husband called on 8/10/19 to query why our item had not been shipped. They advised they would ring back. No one did.

the worst experience of customer service from online and instore at chadstone Harvey Norman, bought Ghost Recon breakpoint gold edition online then picked up in store and that's when it started to fall apart i asked for the codes to redeem my online bonuses from playstation and was told I would get an email, I got the email but no redemption codes at ebgames and jbhifi you get the codes printed out on the receipt, so I phoned online multiple times and was told yes we will send out the codes 7 days later still no codes, I then ring the store and...get told come in we will give you a refund, arrived at the store went and spoke to the lady only to be told no i can't give you a refund I will call online, after almost 45min on the phone I get the response we will find the code and give it to you tomorrow, the purpose of getting the codes is to redeem them when you start the game not wait a week and then keep waiting, spoke to the store manager and he was useless as well no refund just more people that have no idea about customer service, shame on you Harvey Norman Online and Chadstone Update finally got a code but it's useless now 9 days later it needs to be redeemed when you first start the game to gave the benefits, a total waste of time and money. this post was not approved by Harvey Norman online or there website so I'm putting it here

Experience similar to other reviewers. Order item $270.00 and pay $30.00 freight for delivery before weekend. No communication and item not delivered. Informed on Monday the local store didn't have the item and the order had been sent to another store. Nothing about when I might expect delivery.

If you want warranty service don't buy online
Bought a pair of Apple airpods online that died in 6 months despite never leaving the bedroom. Took them to the local store who told me they weren't covered as the socket was corroded. Even if this were true , having never been wet or outside it's still a fault with the unit. Rang head office ( or tried to) then chatted online to be told effectively store decision. Store doesn't want to do anything as they didn't sell it and the franchise model means they are not held accountable. Head office doesn't give a rat's. Basically if I want to pursue ...it I need to go to small claims with Harvey's knows it's a slow process and who would bother for $200. And they're right - it usually takes two days off work to get a final decision. Result is I'll not buy anything from Harvey's ever again. And I've spent thousands there which they know as they have the records. Harvey's have been fined over and over again for not honouring consumer Law. They just don't care. Shop anywhere else
Out dated website and business model
The website offers no pricing on the items I want to buy. I have no option to purchase unless I go to the store. I’d really like to know the price before I bother.
I have called and just get the run around. I feel like they have the old fashioned hard sell method and would rather sell only to people who succumb to that.
I just want to know what something costs and if I like the price, click buy.
HN need to update their website to reflect how a good portion of people like to shop these days.
What is the point of preordering?
Online ordering was nice and easy but you should not accept the customer's money until the point in time where a preorder for a game can be verified to honour the advertised delivery date. Another online company gave me an option to back order or cancel when they cannot meet the preorder delivery. Availability of stock should be accurate and timely. It feels like back end systems or processes need to be reviewed to prevent these types of situations from occurring. It would be good if Harvey's could take a page out of that other big online retai...ler. They seem to have got their ordering system patted down by only taking the customer's money when they are sure the product can be shipped on time or acknowlodged by the customer. It may also reduce the amount of resources necessary to issue preventable refunds.
Warning - Harvey Norman Drop-shipping
Who would have thought that one of Australia's great retailers would resort to drop-shipping. They don't hold stock so they have no control over logistics.
Been waiting for weeks for my order and they can't even tell me when it's coming or where it is.

Didn't Jerry Harvey say he despised online. Well, it shows with your poor online services and prices. Don't expect to compete with Amazon if you continue to offer shabby service. You're still in the stone ages. Wake up to the 21st century
Failure to cover warranty
Try to pass on warranty to manufacturer.
It is their responsibility as seller to honour warranties!
They are a disgrace and totally un-Australian.
I have not had a functional oven for nearly 6 months now.
Hopefully the words ACCC and legal action finally promote a response?
My advice is NEVER shop at Harvey Norman!

ordered product, waited a week followed up more than 10 times. no one knew whats going on and found out it was discontinued and to get it refund, i wasted more than 5 hours in total on waiting on calls, sending email.
I at least contacted them 25 times over the phone and email.
they do get back to you with false information or redirecting you to somewhere that you have to waste time on again.

Only rated one star because I cant rate less. Communication abysmal, delivery lead time a constant moving target, no integrity, spoken to on the phone and in store like an idiot. Will never buy through harvey norman again, will recomend people avoid!!
Prompt and easy to deal with
We have purchased numerous amounts of appliances from Harvey Norman and all products were in great condition. Install was a minimal fuss and after service for any issues occurred were dealt with asap. Highly recommended.
Ordered a laptop online early this week. Was out of stock at my selected store and received a back order notice but with no ETA on when it would be ready and the way they word their emails is so vauge you couldn't tell whether or not they had actually placed an order for it.
Gave them a call and they couldn't tell me anything except to wait 7-10 business days, but the person on the phone didn't really seem to understand any of their processes. I was advised I'd receive a call within 48 hours from the store but that never occurred.
Ordering el...se where you would get continual status updates to keep you informed. Whereas HNO just leaves you in the dark, making me feel anxious about a $2K purchase. The emails also outline you can log in and check the status of your order, or sign up if you don't have an account. Again, the way it is worded it implied signing up would allow access to the status of the order, which isn't the case. Who(m?)ever designed their email service clearly didn't proof read it from the perspective of somebody else that isn't privy to the understanding of how the HNO system works.

Beware customers!! Purchased a TV online but never received an invoice id through email. I rang up HN Lake Haven 2 days after purchase which is the store I had chosen to collect. They couldn't trace the invoice number. I then contacted HN online and they said there was a problem with the security check and I will need to email HN security to initiate a refund! Really! This was meant to be a Father's Day present for Sunday and it's now Friday!
