Telling your kids we've lost our dream home
I have banked with Heritage since I was 18, and just recently some amazing family members came to me and my wife and offered to go Guarantor for us to get our first home. They had already approached Heritage and discussed the loan. What amazing people!!! And that is where the romantic side stopped. We went to Heritage met with a loan officer, filled out all appropriate paperwork and got the ball rolling... You are good for $700K they came back and said.
What did we do? Found our dream home, made the owners an offer, they accepted, happy days. ...
Poorly trained staff (like everywhere else)
Been with this bank now for nearly a year. Hold 4 savings accounts (individual and joint) plus a credit card. Here is the good and the bad.
1. The Good
a. Can have a "real" Joint credit card
b. App works pretty well and quite easy to transfer money (within their limits) and switch between individual and joint accounts
c. In branch staff quite friendly
d. Did a GOOD job when disputing a couple of credit card transactions

ATM didn’t dispense my money for my daughter’s birthday on a weekend FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
Used a Heritage Bank ATM at Clifford Gardens Toowoomba. I wanted to withdraw $350 for a party for my daughter. The dispenser kept making noises for around 2 minutes. The money was not dispensed I am so angry this has never happened at any atm and I’ve traveled all over the world and used them. If the money is not in my account ASAP I’m changing banks.

Heritage branch at Springwood in QLD has outstanding service. Every time I go there, the staff are caring and so professional. Michael went above and beyond in helping me get my transaction through as smoothly as possible. WELL DONE everyone, you bring back days of old where your genuine interest in helping others shines through!!!!
Bpay is taking to long to transfer
We have used Heritage bank for 25 years and never had problems, but their Bpay is useless, we had transferred money to the tax department on the 27th of October, and on the 5th of November got a message from the tax dept asking where the money was since it was due on the 28th, it only suppose to take one day to transfer I believe, I am so annoyed right now....We did the right thing, changing banks I think because this cannot happen again...
Branch no longer assists the elderly needing help
We have been with Heritage for over well over 10 years and have (7) accounts and some on a Professional Pack. Today my wife attends a Branch to transfer her 100K and need a hand as we do not have these limits on any accounts to QSuper via BPay. As expected the Branch Officer could not assist at all, referring us to do all this online. Well we attend a branch for HELP as who transfers these amount with all the security online to prevent this. Apparently we have to move 5K per day to get to 100K as he suggested so that means 20 days of transfer...s is what he is suggesting to us. I do hope people read what is happening to us over two Branches both Northside of Brisbane My last encounter was just for a simple Bank Cheque for 40K and the Branch Officer made a point of criticizing my handwriting and really took great delight to embarrass me as I was trying to operate a mobile phone account because I had to do this. Yes that is right, again I have to move money on a phone across accounts whilst the Branch member continues pressure me on my handwriting for approx 8-10 repeating comments in front of other customers. In this case I had to reach out to the Branch Manager for help and only his intervention (30minutes), I walked out with the Bank Cheque. By old we are 56 and 63 years and are very savvy with records so dementia is not set in as yet. Now I have to intervene and ring a Branch manager tomorrow, seek an appointment just to do a BPay. Now I expect a reply to this, but the reality is, the damage was done. Hence this review is very deserving to get the Banks attention!
Should have stayed with commenwelth
After a store refused to issue my refund after receipt issued and refund approved, I went into my local branch to see what my options were, well that was a waste of fuel, we can't do anything we can't see the transaction, refused to help because I was a online transaction, I'll be going back to the big 4 that's for sure
Extremely poor, could not even start the process for a Mortage!
I tried to apply for a mortgage with Heritage and I followed up over 10 times across a three-week period and they simply couldn't take all my completed forms and submit them to credit. Dont waste your time with a bank that obviously doesn't care!
Excellent Home Loans and Credit Card rates lower than the big 4 Banks. Excellent Customer Service.
Have been Switched to Heritage Bank Home Loans and Credit Cards as being with ME Bank for more than 16 years. We were 2 years into a 5 year fixed loan which was 4.1% but they wanted $6270.00 to break account and would not help so had to change to Heritage Bank as home loan rate is 2.7%. There was no application fee and one of the best home loans rates around and cheaper than the big 4 banks. Plus changed our credit cards to Heritage which was cheaper than ME Bank. 100% recommend others to try Heritage Bank Home Loans and Credit Cards and the staff for the ease of getting loans through. Have been with Heritage Bank over 20 years but was loyal to Me Bank which ended up a big mistake. 100% recommend Kippa Ring Branch.
Worst bank in Australia
Have used this bank for 6 years, cannot wait to leave. Terrible service and endless mistakes, would never recommend them to anyone. Amazing how many other people say the same thing when you tell them of your experiences.
I accompanied a friend to heritage bank who needed to have a bank cheque done. My friend told staff at door he needed a bank cheque for $500.Firstly staff at door asked what are you buying? Then teller said: who told you to do this( get a bank cheque), my friend told her its to the insurance, the teller said: if you didn't cause the accident then you don't pay any excess. My friend said: yes I caused the accident.
What's will all the questions by staff?
Its none of staff business why someone needs a bank cheque. My friend has deposited cheques to the bank over the years and staff ask him: where did you get the money from?
What a waste of time
Applied for a small loan increase. Told by Buderim branch that we qualified, only to be told after four weeks of us continually submitting more information our application was rejected, despite us having an excellent credit rating and repayment record. What a waste of time. They treat you as a number, not as an individual or on a case by case basis. They just crunch the numbers and according to them if it doesn't add up they reject you. Took four weeks to assess our application. Waste of time and postage. Never again.
Go through a broker or find a better bank!
Outrageous Settlement Fees on Loan Accounts
I have been with Heritage Bank for a long time now. I have 3 loans under the same account (fixed and 2 variables) I am in the process of refinancing out of Heritage as they were not able to offer me better rate. They are charging me $300 per loan = $900 as disbursement/admin. fee on top of break costs which is absolutely ridiculous compared to other banks. Spoke to someone in Headoffice and they redirected to the manager at Springfield who was very rude and was not willing to listen. Not happy with how this is being handled. Sorry but its NOT People first anymore.
Check on transaction
I needed to change banks about 3 years ago. Just due to location I went with Heritage. I use Kippa Ring branch and have always found staff helpful and polite. Also only to willing to help with anything I needed. Today I purchased a new computer online, a larger transaction than I most often make. Staff from head office phoned to check I had made transaction. Very well done on taking steps for security for a customer. I very highly recommend your bank to anyone. Sorry I have forgotten name of lady who phoned me. Thank you Heritage.
People First, what a joke
I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years with Heritage Bank. A $4500 fraud investigation that took 4 months to investigate when I was told it would be 60 working days if not sooner to finalise.
Heritage this year informed me via email that I did not conduct these transactions. Heritage stated that they would only refund half the money via email, what a joke, People First... Made a complaint and informed via email, unless instructed by authorities they are unable to refund the remaining money as I am partially to blame. Hang on, I was inf...
