are a few things I wish I had known or had more options with. I would have loved to see a wider range of floor plan choices and more colour selection options during the design stage.
Overall though, the team was professional and supportive, and we’re happy with our new home.

Our site supervisor, Bob, was always willing to make time to talk through any concerns or updates, and for multiple walkthroughs throughout the build. Our build was also completed ahead of schedule - with the team pushing through to get us in before Christmas shutdown so that we could celebrate our first christmas in our new home. We are so grateful for this!
During construction, Bob's attention to detail really showed. For example, due to our house being on a hill, Bob noticed that the facade did not look as good as intended when parked slightly uphill. He then suggested we raise the facade by ~500mm (at no cost), which made a massive difference to the aesthetics of the house. Given the slope of our land, he also used his discretion and added a step in the backyard off our patio area as to avoid a large slope in our entertaining area. Both of these changes were not in our initial contract, but given the specifics of our block of land, these made sense to add.
The build quality has been excellent, and after build support has been great - with Bob giving me a call a month after moving in to see how everything is going, and to organise a floor service. Hermitage also seem to be willing to take on constructive feedback for future builds, such as where we've installed additional power points or data cables.
Overall, our experience with Hermitage Homes has been incredible, and we are so glad that we chose to build through them. Would definitely recommend them to others!

Update - it’s been one year after the construction. Our build was a full turn-key. I would appreciate if you don’t choose full turn key with them because even though the build is great, the landscape they did was really bad. After 4-5 months, small potholes started to appear which were not severe, but then one appeared very close to the fence which is very deep after 8 months. We contacted them since it’s very clear it was because of poor landscaping and they in short mentioned this is your problem, not ours. So please keep this in mind.

Our site supervisor was an absolute delight. Mark was super quick to respond, was very clear in explaining what was happening on site, and was professional in keeping everything ticking along on-site as quickly as possible. All post-build inspections were easy to organise with Mark and he was very patient with us as we inspected every centimetre of the house, and ensured everything was to our liking. To top it off he was a great bloke!

smoother process) at a different time, they also cannot enforce this DBC Act Sect 19 states Access to building site to view any part of building works , what a load of crap, I have the right to observe and have defect pointed out to me and discussed with my building inspector. Also apparently real estate cannot come to take photos until handover which is another made up lie, I also have the Occupancy cert so that's got a lot to answer for. I will not be building my next home with Hermitage due to these reasons and I plan on another build very soon. I cannot wait for this to be over its been such a terrible not enjoyable building experience.

next to you can you possibly move the mixer a bit down the drive" (we have learnt that if you treat contractors nicely , they will work with you) I was promptly extensively verbally abused, I was startled so I replied well your parked in front of my property move your vehicle.
At this point two apprentices sprinted over to me and got within inches of my face and verbally abused me with one saying said he was going to smack me in the face and kick my …. The intimidation and threats of violence went on with his workmates encouraging him saying he is crazy you better f.. off etc
I have reported this to the police and reached out to Hermitage homes with no response
I was a contractor for 17years, I can understand workers starting at 7am , it’s their right to work. What is completely unacceptable is an act of intimidation and threats of violence after I asked for a courtesy act for my baby.
If this is any indication of who they contract to build homes I can only believe the quality of work would align with their attitudes and behaviour.

inspection was completed. Despite several follow-ups with Hermitage it has just been complete radio silence. It’s incredibly poor customer service from Hermitage and frustration on my end having to follow-up with them all the time.

The only small improvement we would suggest is including additional power points in the walk-in pantry, however this was easily resolved by bringing in our own electrician.
