Annoying doors – My Hisense fridge doors never stay open which is annoying when you are trying to load it and it closes on you. This has resulted in damage to the crisper. I had the hinges replaced under warranty and the doors were good for a while. It's just started doing the same and Hisense aren't interested as it's now out of warranty. Very disappointing Show details

Condensing motor packs up just after warranty finishes – Started making a screeching noise, 4 months after 3 year warranty expires. Seems the condensor motor fan has packed up and very difficult to replace. Who knows how long it will last even if replaced. We loved this fridge but not any more. Looking for a replacement. Surely a $1700 item should last longer than this! Show details

A really good fridge, however I feel the door could’ve been made to open better – 1.) Yes it does. It also gives you a choice to change temperature in the vegetable compartment. 2.) the only thing I did not like was the way the door opens & closes and the noise it makes. 3.) Yes the freezer part is easy but the fridge plastic part in the door shifts and makes a noise when doing so Show details

Best Fridge So Far But! – My dislike is the ice cube tray, very poor design. Pouring water through a tiny slit in the top is not ideal as water goes everywhere and also it would be easier if it could be taken apart for cleaning. Show details

Extremely disappointed – Bought this fridge 3.5 years ago and was totally in love with it until now, because my freezer is not working anymore. Technician came to see what is the problem and its the gas pump that broke. To fix it it will cost more than a new fridge so the dream became a nightmare after just 3.5 years. Very disappointed with it. luck that I bought extended… Read more

Lemon – I purchased this fridge 2 years ago. I fell in love with the looks and design. Reviews at the time were good. Within 4 months a circuit board died and affected the cooling. I manged to get that done under warranty. 12 months later the compressor died due to a leak somewhere in the walls of the fridge. There were no compressors in Australia. Covid… Read more

hit and anything from overseas was impossible. Unfortunately Hi Sense would not cover the compressor repalcement as it was purchased through Grays. Repair man said it would be costly to try and find the leak somewhere inside the panels. My "dream" fridge is now at the scrap merchant. Really Really saddend by the whole process.

Manual defrost required every 1.5 - 2 years – The fridge was purchased in March 2019. After 2.5 year use, it stopped cooling one night. The issue is about the poor design of the fridge compartment where heaps of ice were built up over the time, stopping the fan from spinning. Update in 2024: In last 2-3 years, this fridge was in good working order. The only catch is the manual defrost… Read more

Had so much potential – This fridge looks great and operates quite well except for the top door doesn't always quite close or seal on its own. When we first purchased the fridge after a couple of weeks the top right side kept closing on its own and wouldn't stay open when fully extended like the others. I contacted Hisense and it was quite an ordeal to finally get some… Read more

traction where they offered to replace. I had spoken to several different operators who told me different stories each time, one even saying that it was supposed to do that even though the previous person said yes that it is a fault. I had many many telephone calls, emailed video but in the end it was a firm letter assisted by consumer protection that made them honour the warranty. We chose to replace with the same fridge and about 12 months later the same thing is happening on the exact same side. I couldn't be bothered following up again as it was just too much drama from the time prior. Its a shame as the design is great, the freezer is great and it just has so much potential.

Excellent fridge, quality and size – I was personally sceptical when we purchased this fridge for our new home as I hadn’t heard a lot about this brand. better quality than plastic. There are shelves on both the freezer doors for added space and we have been able to reduce the use of the deep freezer in our shed, as this fridge fits it all! Very happy with it so far! I’ve read about the door seal becoming weak or not closing properly, I can see how that would happen but I’m hoping with our careful use of the fridge it won’t be a problem.

Door not sealing properly – Very happy with the fridge until the centre flap on left fridge door would not go in to its right place resulting in poor seal. Hisnese great to deal with and organised a store credit rather than fixing the problem. However have opted for a Mitsubishi to replace it as I'm not confident that it wouldn't happen again..  Show details

Sleek and roomy! – I bought my fridge approximately 4 months ago and it has worked like a dream. Temperature control is perfect, it doesn’t make a noise at all and it has removable glass shelves which are easy to clean. The only fault it has is that it opens from the middle which makes it very hard to find fridge locks for, especially if you have a toddler that like to taste test multiple things.  Show details

No complaints – Very spacious & keeps everything very cold while the touch controls allow you to customise the temperature in each of the three zones, very handy for keeping stuff like meat frozen while also storing ice cream without it being too frozen. The black glass looks very modern and stylish, however it does show up a lot of finger prints around the handle from opening the door, requiring constant cleaning.  Show details

Great fridge but not enough freezer space – Great fridge, looks great in the glass black finish (though always have to windex it as it shows finger prints) Love the French doors and width of the internal part of the fridge great for wide dishes ets. Love the blue lighting. Only downside for us is the freezer is all drawers, it’s good for organisation but doesn’t fit anything that is larger than the drawers. Not quite enough freezer space for our family of 4.  Show details

Great product – Great style fridge, good tempature control. Motor can be loud at times, easy to clean Freezer drawers good for organising and to keep clean. Black model glass shows hand prints a lot though so you can find yourself constantly cleaning, found a microfibre cloth and a little bit of windex does the job perfectly.  Show details

to the manufacturer is the shelving in the doors, the front of them is a little high, so it can be a little cumbersome getting products in and out. The removable pinic basket which has the highest front to it is the most difficult. Other than that really happy with every other aspect of this product.

This is the best fridge – It looks elegant, the motor has no sound and it has led lights inside. It was value for money. Bought it from Harvey Norman with 5 years warranty. Nice fridge, for two months – We bought this fridge January 2017 and had to hire scaffolding and demolish an external wall, balcony railing and remove doors to get it in, which was fine, you get this with new fridges in older houses, we loved the design and the price was great compared to others. Within a week of unboxing it the door seal had a tear (January 30th) and it… Read more

was three weeks before a tech came to fix it (February 19th), hisense sent him the wrong seal. Almost a month later (March 17th), with no communication, hisense sent us a text saying we'd been approved for a replacement, since it was just a seal we decided to just have it repaired instead of going through the ordeal of getting it out of our house, which we called to tell them (March 27th) after 5 business days we still hadn't heard from the tech who is supposed to contact us within 48 hours and by this time our fridge had stopped cooling (March 31st). We called April 1st to alert Hisense to the fridge failing. Technician arrived April 4th, hisense had again provided an incorrect seal and the technician was not familiar with hisense fridges as he is a Samsung tech. Fridge was 17 degrees when it was set to 2, one freezer was -10 and the other -9, both set to -18. He advised us to get a refund as it likely has an electrical fault related to the main board.

We called hisense immediately after he had left, they asked if we had had a hisense tech look at it after we explained the tech was a Samsung tech and we explained that we've only had techs they organised, they had taken a replacement off the table until they heard from the technician, who had to drive 300km to us. We are fortunate to have a large esky and separate freezer, but we had already lost several hundred in food and medication as we had recently done a big shop with enough food to last us for most of a month (it's 70km to the nearest supermarket).

It is a beautiful fridge, quiet and it did keep food fresh for a long time, but a two month old fridge shouldn't stop working. We called Hisense multiple times for two days and they told us they didn't have a resolution and we couldn't speak to the people who decide on a resolution but they would definitely contact us that day (this is false information, as we can speak to management, but not one of the reps would put us through and told us to just email, no one ever called us until we emailed). At 4:45 pm, April 5th, the management had gone home so we couldn't speak to anyone and hisense didn't seem to understand that the tech they sent didn't repair it, because he didn't know how to repair a Hisense fridge, and our food is still spoiling. It took two days of calling and harassing Hisense to get any form of resolution (April 6th) - a store return.

They will only provide $300 worth of compensation despite us having hundreds more in medications and food lost, we are out of food and have nowhere to store food or those medications so I now have a systemic infection going uncontrolled since I cannot store the medication anywhere. ACCC guidelines say compensation should put you in the position you would have been in if the goods worked as they should have, but Hisense has told us to go to VCAT if we want that, their general attitude has been terrible since they realised we wanted a refund so we could buy a different brand.

Aside from that the ice cube tray design is terrible, it always freezes the drawer shut! 11 egg holes in the egg tray. But I'd have lived with those without complaint if the fridge lasted.

For what it's worth, this fridge was not installed into a fridge cavity, it was free standing about 15cm from a wall at the rear, nothing on the right hand side and a standard height kitchen bench, 10cm from the left hand side, so it had more than adequate ventilation. It was plugged into a single power outlet, directly into the wall, no extension cable or power board, that is not on the same circuit as anything else aside from the microwave, so it couldn't overload. We also left it to stand upright and unplugged for 24 hours after getting it inside to allow the gas to settle before turning it on. There is no reason for it to have failed on our end.

Edit 13/4/17: Hisense promised us a call back from the manager on 12/4 because apparently manager was not in. Didn't receive a call. Called back in afternoon of 12/4 but manager had left for the day. Called 13/4 and manager was not in until Tuesday 18/4, put through to customer service team leader who spoke over and interrupted, told us if we kept calling he would keep hanging up and hung up on us. Posted comments on social media, which were deleted without response. 13/4 sent photos of fridge contents, fridge settings and a temperature reading of the internal (17.9 degrees) to Hisense, with itemised list of all products in there and their prices. Totalled $760.29 without the cost of extra fuel needed to get take away and the take out itself, making the $300 compensation seem even more ridiculous. Customer service manager does not want to deal with it and has told us she can't escalate it, will not budge and says if we believe they're breaching consumer law we can take it elsewhere (consumer affairs or VCAT) and if they tell her to give us more she will.

Edit 2: Hisense Australia has blocked me on instagram after I posted images of the fridge contents, the fridge settings and an internal temperature reading with details of how much we lost and the cost incurred to us. On Facebook the social media team instructed us to call/email customer care again and have not provided an alternative method of contact when requested as the customer care team has been the major issue. Social media team claimed to have sent information to customer care, but we haven't heard from them.

Edit 3: social media team hid my post and blocked me on Facebook and haven't responded to my request for an other contact method. accused me of spamming (at the time I had made two posts and had responded to my friend's comments on the post) and never answered a single query. They told me customer care said they'd contacted me and when I said that was untrue because I hadn't heard from anyone they stopped responding.
