Can anyone tell me if you can get iview on this tv?
Not on tv but if you Google the product you will be able to view plus YouTube if you type in the product it may show up.
Yes. Go to ABC channel and press the red button for iview. All catchup channels are on there.
What size hard drives can be connected to the USB connector.
Also, what is the quality of the viewing if you're positioned to the side of the TV?
Hi, i have a 2Tb hard drive plugged in to the USB3 port and it works great. The side viewing is pretty good, i watch mine straight on but have had a look to see how it is from the side and at a 45° angle it is as good as being in front of it. Hope this helps mate and if you do buy this TV, i hope you enjoy it as it really is a great unit.
Hey,
I have a seagate 4tb hard drive connected up and it reads it perfectly fine. Not sure what the max tb is that it can read.
As for side view, still amazing picture to watch. Definitely recommend this tv!
Hey, has anyone had trouble recording with this TV? I'm using a 500Tb portable hard drive which worked perfectly with my previous Hisense. Now when I try to record some channels on the N7 it asks me to confirm the recording just before the program starts and if I don't click yes it won't record. Any ideas or suggestions to fix the problem. Hisense support was useless. Thanks.
I am watching the TV. The planned recording time happens. Your confirm pop up announcement to start recording comes up. I do nothing. The recording starts. The first pop up goes away. A second bar graph pop up showing recording in progress and duration comes up.
That's All Folks.
To Bob D. Yes that happens sometimes, but more often than not it asks me to confirm the recording before it starts by having to select either yes or no with a count down timer. If I don't choose the yes option or let the timer reach zero than it won't record. That's the issue I need help with. Why is it asking (sometimes) me to confirm the recording?
I'm having the same frustrating issue. I've just bought a USB and have tested it out. But I requested to record a programme while I was out last night, and today it hasn't been recorded. I think it's because I wasn't home to confirm the recording! What on earth is the point of record if you are at home to watch the programme?
Same problem here and yet the online manual (not the flimsy Quick Start that comes with the TV) States as follows "The TV will record the program even in standby mode" It is the only reference in the manual to the fact you do not have to intervene... however is not correct
To all that are having recording issues with a USB drive - this will help. You may also experience problems after a system software update as the settings mentioned below may have been changed (as I have experienced).
Hisene has a feature called Fast Boot - if this is switched off you will likely have recording problems. You can tell if it is on by observing the starting procedure of the TV. If you see the Hisense logo when you press the power on button then you have Fast Boot switched off. The TV wants to record but it cannot because the TV is cycling up - so it gives up trying. With Fast Boot turned on the TV starts immediately and the command to record is received immediately and the recording will begin.
Now here is how to turn on fast boot (Note that my model is their OLED 55inch model if this method doesnt work call customer support to get instructions). First go to the Settings (cog button) > Sound > Speakers > Highlight BUT DO NOT click on Balance > Then on the Remote type in 1969 > THEN WAIT - a Capital Letter M will appear on the top left of the screen. With M on screen press settings button (Cog) again and 2 columns appear - using the direction arrow on the remote (round button with OK in the middle) move to the second column called Design - scroll down to Fasr Boot and make sure it is ON. Power off and wait a couple of secondary then power ON. If TV now switches on immediately without the Logo you should have fixed the recording issue. These settings are those used by tech support that are not in your manual.
Hope this helps - good luck.
Note: If you cant record two shows in a row on your device this is likely to be a HDMI & CEC Functions setting which can be found under Settings > System. I generally have my Device Auto Power Off switched OFF but experiment to see what happens because I use a PS3 and a Passport to record TV shows on each device (the PS3 with PlayTV is a very cheap High Quality TV recorder). These settings are relatively easy to switch around to suit your particular configuration.
