VerifiedCan a Barina 2010 fit a RS motor in its bay
My display is showing miles not kilometres. How do I change it back please
Dose a Daewoo gear box manual fit a Barina spark
My Holden BARINA spark ( manual) 2010 model starts perfectly. No funny noises coming from the engine, ect. However - when I put it in gear, in ANY gear, 1st 2nd, reverse and I put my foot on the accelerator, my car just revs, doesn't move. What's causing this issue?? Any hints please.
hi i was just wondering what it means when im changing gears and there is like a swirling water sound on a 2011 barina spark
Mine does the same
I drive a 2011 Holden BARINA spark manual. It starts perfectly, then I go to put it into gear and it just revz out?? The clutch feels normal, and it goes into gear normally. It's just ANY gear I put it in, it just revz. What can this be PLEASE.
Where is the auto transmission oil level stick
just brought one last Monday and realized that the fuel gauge isn't working at all keeps saying I have a full tank when I didn't what do I need to replace to get it to read the right fuel amount on the digital fuel gauge.
Might need a replacement fuel level sensor. Cheaper to reset the odometer to zero once it's empty, see how many kms you get after filling up before having to fill up again (might want to keep a jerry can in the back the first time!) Use that number as a gauge for how many kms you have left before a refill by just keep resetting it to zero whenever you fill the tank.
My engine light is staying on what does this mean?
Does the 2013 barina spark cd mj my14 have a timing belt or chain?
Thinking of purchasing a 2014 barina rs, any issues i need to be aware off?

I have a Holden Barina Spark MJ 2012. I was in a bit of a hurry and did not warm the car up in the morning (first time ever). When l changed to 2nd gear it almost felt like the clutch was slipping so l pulled over and warmed the car up a bit more. The first 2 minutes or so the gear changes felt strange but after driving the whole morning the car felt like it was back to its revvy feel and noisy self. Which is what lm used to. Is there a reason to worry.
Sorry to say think you may need your clutch fixed what I don it don’t leave it in gear at light done rest my hand on gear knob these are not good for clutch
Thank you for your quick reply! I had Lube Mobile service my car in November and everything was Ok. However last Saturday l left a dodgy drive way that scrapped with a loud thud the bottom of my car on the drivers side. Could that be it? Did it damage my clutch?
My 2011 spark overheated the other day. I spent the night in the servo . I filled it up with water to the level and drove it about 10km to a friends house. It seemed fine when i checked the water then. Drove it 2days laer and now its losing water , and i topped it up . It keeps going up and then down again while im watching it with the motor running. . What would the problem be. I dont think its a leak as the water stayed in while sitting there for 2 days. .
sounds like you radiator is blocked and you need it cleared out or you need a new one you need to take it to a car radiator place and get a quote first never just say yes and shop around but it sound like you need your radiator cleaning out or a new one never put water in it either that will rust your radiator always use coolant buy that from supercheap or Autobarn hope this helps don't do nothing or it will get worse and cost you more
A common fault with the Sparks is the Coolant Expansion bottle gets very brittle and eventually the plastic hose connector cracks and leaks coolant. If you continue driving with this leak, your motor will overheat due to low coolant level. There are 2 different size hose connectors. One 14mm or 17mm. Check which one you have before ordering new bottle. (Ebay has them for approx $35 -$50.)

My 2013 barina cdx is a good little car except fuel consumption is never less than 9.3 l/100k or so the instrument says. The dealer just says to reset it!! It does not move off 9.3. Also the automatic box always seems to be hunting for the right gear and never gets it right first time - always revving until it eventually gets it right. Is it me or does anybody else have these problems?
Hi Puddles. My daughter's Barina Spark 2012 Model is manual so I can't comment on one with the automatic transmission. However, after some 45 years of driving across the globe both manuals and automatics I do feel that your automatic gearbox is out of whack. It should not behave like that. I am not sure whether your Barina has the 1.6 l engine or the 1.2 l engine. I would not be surprised at elevated consumption for any of the engines due to the totally unnecessary revving. I suspect that the consumption indicator, as most of the other Daewoo electronics, is useless at best. To get better idea about your consumption fill up tank to full and record the mileage between refuels. It's easy to calculate consumption without a fancy gadgets. Say you traveled 300 km between refuels and you filled up the tank to full with 21 liters. To arrive at liters per hundred km you you divide 21 by 3 ( 3 representing three times hundred). So your consumption will be 21/3 equals 7 liters per 100 km. Good luck and I hope your Barina does not develop "Black Box" problems which are apparently pretty common among these cars. Very expensive and annoying with car sometimes refusing to start. Alternatively cutting the ignition off at most unexpected times and similar "pleasures". Costs over $1000.00 to fix! Well it's a Daewoo with Holden logo.
Thanks MrT, it's a 1.6L and goes just great except for this engine revving. I will be going back to the dealer soon and hopefully get an acceptable result.
Hi Puddles, I bought a new CDX Barina November 2013 and it has averaged 8.5 litres per 100 km around Perth WA but not used in peak hour traffic. It is usually 8.something every time I fill up. I have not had any problems but have only done 29000 kms. It tends to seek lower engine revs and is reluctant to change down unless you step on the accelerator but I believe this to be similar with a lot of small cars

Thanks Ray, sounds very similar to mine- maybe I am just expecting too much although the average fuel useage gauge does not move from 9.3 l/100k. Does yours move during a trip.
Puddles.
