He step in and given real boost and confidence in both of us. He explained what has to be done , how to keep the condition moving forward and not to lose hope. Morgan Sipe, set the tone right from the start. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and never once pushy. After visiting other builders who tried to pressure us with FOMO tactics, it was refreshing to meet someone who simply listened, guided, and helped us make confident decisions at our own pace. Morgan — you were fantastic.
During the administration stage, our Contracts Administrator, Monique Kenyon, was an absolute star. She handled every detail with professionalism and was consistently prompt with her responses. Knowing we could rely on her made the whole process feel smooth and stress‑free.
Then came the fun part — pre‑start! Choosing all the finishes and furnishings for our home was such an enjoyable experience, thanks to Phoebe Costigan. She was brilliant to work with: professional, patient, and incredibly helpful with our design requests. The quality of the fixtures, cabinetry, tiles, and overall selections exceeded our expectations. Dela Vita products are top‑notch — we even loved them so much that we purchased extra towel rails directly from their warehouse.
Once construction began, our Client Liaison Officers, Tia Mitchell and Niamh Maher, continued that same level of care. They were reliable, responsive, and always happy to help with any questions we had. Home Group clearly run a tight ship — trades and materials were lined up and ready to go, and once the slab went down, the build progressed quickly and efficiently.
A huge thank you to our supervisor, Nick Donateli. His attention to detail was evident throughout the entire build, and it truly shows in the final quality of our home. We couldn’t be more grateful.

As we progressed, we were transferred from department to department, and the rep from each department was amazing.
Cara Burton was our prestart consultant, had the patience of a saint! She was knowledgeable about the products, and quick to reply to our emails, answering our tons of questions, and making we felt comfortable with all our selections before finalising everything.
After prestart, Maddi Pitcher took over for the construction stage. She’s a rockstar! Maddi deserves all the praise one could give! Her promptness, her organisation and problem-solving skills were incredible, especially during the final mad dash toward handover. She genuinely cared, and made everything seem effortless although we’re sure it was anything but. We struck gold having her as our client liaison!
Our site supervisor David dos Santos also deserves high praise! He was thorough and proactive. It shows when someone takes pride in what they do.
We also appreciate how responsive Lynn from the maintenance team has been when attending to minor outstanding issues. Great to know they have the same level of care post handover.
And a big shout out to all the contractors and workers who were part of Home Group’s team and helped bring our beautiful house to life!

One area we feel could be improved is the pre-start meeting and documentation, to ensure selections and requests are clearly understood and accurately recorded so nothing is missed or misworded.

We were also extremely fortunate to have Jordan as our Site Supervisor. Jordan was excellent throughout, professional, approachable and clearly took pride in delivering our home to a high standard. Any questions or minor items that came up were handled without fuss, and we always felt that our home was in good hands.

From the very beginning, we have not had a good building experience with Home Group. The salesman did his job perfectly — unfortunately, that meant telling us whatever was necessary to get us to sign the contract. We were given a timeline that turned out to be very inaccurate, which set the wrong expectations from the outset. The biggest issue… Read more
throughout the build has been communication. Getting a straight answer has been extremely difficult, and we constantly felt like we had to chase Home Group for updates. Responses were often generic, stock-standard replies rather than actually addressing our specific questions or concerns. We were also told that Home Group has standard company processes, yet our experience was that every client seems to be treated differently. This was particularly frustrating when trying to understand why certain things were being handled the way they were. One of the most disappointing experiences was when Home Group refused to assist our bank with the final inspection before payment was made. Given the amount of money involved in building a home, we found this extremely frustrating and unreasonable. The client portal was also very disappointing. It was rarely updated and provided very little useful information about the actual progress of our build. Fortunately, we lived around the corner from the site, so we were able to see the progress ourselves rather than relying on the portal. To be fair, there were some positives. Construction itself was relatively quick and there were minimal delays overall. The brickwork did take around six weeks when we were expecting approximately 2–4 weeks, but this was being completed by a single bricklayer, so I don't believe he should be blamed for that delay. Ultimately, I would not build with Home Group again. The biggest issue wasn't necessarily the construction itself — it was the ongoing lack of communication, transparency and consistency throughout the process. With so much information and so many customer experiences now available online, builders should understand that clients can see how other customers are being treated. Consistent communication and transparency should be a basic part of the building experience, particularly when customers are making such a significant financial commitment. The house may have been built relatively quickly, but the customer experience left a lot to be desired.
Unfortunately, my experience since leaving my original 5-star review has changed. While the build process itself was positive, the after-handover service has been disappointing. A plumbing defect was discovered in our powder room where the basin waste pipe does not properly connect, causing water to leak underneath the vanity. I was told that… Read more
because the plumbing appeared intact at PCI, Home Group considers it to have been damaged after handover and will not rectify it. However, the pipe is not damaged. It was sitting right on the cusp of the connection and appears to have been poorly installed from the beginning. Pipes don’t simply shrink after handover.
Mistakes happen, but I’m extremely disappointed with how this has been handled.
Sadly, this has changed my overall experience.
It is a shame I’m re writing my review. A review which I did pre maturely. Upon picking up my keys I was told that all my outstanding items from PCI were completed This was not the case. On a more serious issue a home groups representative found their way it to my house after handover. No real answers just deflection. Trying to out it back on me. Terrible .
Makes me nervouse about having to call them back if another issues arises down the track.
Dealing with their admin since I made my last payment and since I got my keys has been an absolute joke.
They have wiped their hands clean. Got their money and forgot about their customers.
This is the long story short. I will never use home group agains.
