I have recently completed the preconstruction stage of my home build with Homebuyers Centre WA. The preconstruction process took approximately 4 months to complete. approximately 5 to 6 months from receiving the land title/settlement to reaching the slab stage.

At this stage, I still have not been provided with a definite date for when construction will commence.

Unfortunately, I did not find the preconstruction process to be smooth or well streamlined. In my experience, the builder was not sufficiently proactive in obtaining the required approvals, certificates and services. There were several delays during the process that, from my perspective, could potentially have been avoided with earlier action and better coordination.

While I understand that some approvals and external services are outside the builder's direct control, I believe the overall process could have been managed more efficiently, with better communication and proactive follow-up.

Overall, I am disappointed and frustrated with how long the preconstruction process has taken and i hope the construction phase will be managed much more efficiently.

You would've thought I'd had enough of building however with house pricing going up it seemed the only way I can get my foot back in. She helped find a block and house plan that suits my budget. It may not be my forever home, but it will be mine. there's any screw popping, you need to get a contractor in to fix it" Completely ignoring the fact it was done poorly in the first place, even the finish on the roof from build is atrocious. Home assist wasn't very helpful, due to risk of collapse got a contractor in who stated "these trades building the homes get away with murder" (implying how bad the job was) 25 year warranty means nothing

We built ten years ago with Homebuyers, a good build; however, just be careful with any garden packages included, whoever they selected for the front garden installed an illegal valve (no backflow prevention), which cost me $500 to fix, and they didn't clear the building rubble before installing grass etc . several attempts to get information from Homebuyers (contractor used) they ignore emails. Garden packages are rushed and not completed as they should be.

delayed... - 3 title delays.. - land potentially not having power and being told we would have to pay for a generator if electricity was not connected by the time the slab was done.. - NOW - 2 building permit refusals because people in your business can't do there job properly. They do this stuff everyday and many have probably been to Uni. You would think getting all points correct before submission of something so important would be the right procedure. Im so angry at the lack of attention to detail and customer care.

This is our first build and with all these set backs it is affecting us, as we are renting but you builders don't give a dam as long as you get your money. We went with you because you were meant to be the better compared to the others, my family recommended you. I think it was a massive mistake and we are devastated with the whole process as far. Bad for Dale Alcock's reputation.

GET US OUR BUILDING PERMIT AND BUILD OUR HOUSE, THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE PAID YOU TO DO! OR WE WILL BE TAKING THIS FURTHER. I WILL GO TO THE MEDIA, A LAWYER, OMBUDSMAN AND I HAVE ALREADY EMAILED THE LOCAL MP. DO YOUR JOB!

I will say one good point [Name Removed], who is Manager communicating with me is polite and bubbly. But this makes no difference if the job is not getting complete. We have a right to be angry and upset, the people who keep messing up need to take accountability and do the job right the first time.
