Billy called to say he was running late from another job and then arrived at the later time. Thats unusual and appreciated! He was a great communicator, explaining and fixing the problem quickly. I paid cash $149 which was reasonable for a plumbing service. No call out fee! Love that! Since been charged $400 to remove a mouse before! Got an… Read more
invoice later but quickly sorted by the AI bot ( bit freaky though). Billy was super friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!
I engaged HomeFirst Services for checking faulty air-condition units. When I made an inquiry over the phone, I was told that the callout should be free. In fact, this is really misleading message as the technician turned up on the day, and he charged $150 for diagnose fee. I was not told for any other charges when I made an inquiry. This is very… Read more
doggy service - the charge is not transparent to customers. Will definitely not deal with this group anymore
Buyer Beware – Sharing My Experience We recently had our 6-year-old Brivis gas ducted and add-on refrigerated system serviced by HomeFirst. Everything was working fine, it was just for maintenance. After the visit, we were quoted $1,400 for service.. That didn’t sound right, so we called Jake from Melbourne Gas & Air (highly recommend!) for a… Read more
second opinion. They did a full diagnostic and found nothing major wrong — only a small fault that cost $600 total to fix.
When I called Jason, the owner of HomeFirst, he said the original quote was an error by a new technician and should’ve been “around $700+.”
Thankfully we checked — just a reminder to others to get a second opinion before agreeing to costly repair quotes.

Quick, easy, clean – Lockie arrived on time and completed the plumbing work quickly and efficiently. Affected work area was tidied up nicely and he followed up by checking for air locks (prob not the right plumbing term!) which there was and finished up with an explanation of what to do/expect. Overall, thoroughly satisfied with the work performed and service - thank you Lockie Show reply

Drainage issue in backyard – After working with Liam A for a few months , surveying stormwater drains and investigating the source of the water running under my deck and house, Liam advised I needed to install an agi pipe behind the retaining wall. Liam was very professional and patient .. happy for me to take time before accepting the quote. No pressure. The job was … Read more
scheduled for a suitable time around my work commitments. Gordon C and Will J showed up on day 1 on time and straight away commenced digging a 10 meter trench by hand and made it look easy getting it completed quickly and without fuss. They installed agi pipes put in a pit, cut a hole through the retaining wall, and then connected the pipes to the existing stormwater. The whole job took 7 days. There were a few hicups which they problem solved quickly and I was confident they had everything under control. Gordon and Will were hard working and very patient answering any questions I had about the job so that I understand what they were doing. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable.Topsoil was put down on the lawn with the yard left neat. The deck, paving and driveway were pressure washed after all done. Reese W helped out on the final day and worked hard to clean and tidy up. Would highly recommend Plumbfirst and their tradies Liam, Gordon, Will and Reese. A very professional team !
Excellent Professionalism – Thanks to Tristan who is an honest individual and Rhianna for doing a wonderful job. God bless you both professionals. Would recommend PlumbFirst to my family and friends for sure without blinking an eye

The job was done! A real story of excellent, professional and friendly service – My stormwater pipe was blocked. I have no idea what the last tenants did to the stormwater; perhaps they processed meat right under the water tap on the back of the house for the last two COVID years and threw off-cuts into the stormwater inlet. They returned the house, and on the heavy rainy day I found that the water did not run away; it flooded… Read more

I called PlumbFirst, accepted the price of the call-out service. Chris came to my house on 22 December 2022. He looked around the house, used a CCTV camera to inspect the pipes, and attempted to jetter the pipe for over an hour. However, it did not go as expected, he found a lot of fat built up inside the stormwater pipe. He located the main blockage but could not get the jetter to blast the hard fat off. He advised a plan and quote to repair it—cutting the concrete, removing and replacing the old terracotta pipes, which had fat inside, and then blasting away any dirt or fat left at the rest of the pipe.
Niko and William arrived at my house at 7:30 AM on December 23 with an excavator, a demolition saw, and other tools. They cut the concrete, tried to locate the pipe and its connection. It was more difficult than they predicted—the house was built in 1960 and had been extended once— they packed up at 3:30 PM without any success. On the next day, when Niko and Sean arrived, they cut more concrete and dug up more dirt, and they finally located where the main blockage was. They cleared out the blockage, cut off the terracotta pipe. However, they still could not find the connection to the other side of the pipe.
On the third day (28 December), Niko, Sean, and William arrived (for additional reinforcement), and they continued to dig up and discover the conjunction. Another problem occurred when the old pipe was removed, a small 90-mm pvc pipe was discovered inside the 100-mm pipe. They cut more concrete, dug up more soil, and removed more old pipe until things were clear under their CCTV camera.
They sent more "soldiers" on December 29th. Reece, and John had joined the team. Niko ordered parts, rocks, and other necessities for the job. On December 30th, the new stormwater pipe installation was completed. John picked up all the dirt and old concrete away. However, they couldn't pour new concrete because there was no concrete mixing people available until the 9th of January 2023. Matt and Niko finished pouring the concrete on 11 January 2023. The tenant will move in the following week, on 21 January. Well done!
This is a fantastic team from PlumbFirst. They are fastidious, hard workers, and very friendly. Niko is not only a great plumber; he is also a meticulous professional trainer. He supervises two apprentices with his heart and soul. He explained the procedures, how to do them, asked questions to make sure they understood them, let them perform the jobs, and checked all their work—a combination of theory and practice. He is, I think, a marvellous asset to PlumbFirst. Sean and William are excellent apprentices—hard workers who accurately follow instructions. Reece and John are so quick and friendly, they were willing to do additional things, not in the contract, when asked.
Thank you very much for your work. Well done!

I rang HomeFirst services yesterday to arrange for a plumber to inspect and clear the blocked drain in my bathroom sink . Within 2 hours Hayden arrived at my property and within a short time had unblocked the drain and resolved my problem ! The service provided by Hayden was outstanding and additionally he was very courteous and professional. I highly recommend this service !!
I had a blocked bathroom drain. Called homefirst services, they sent someone out within an hour, I had cleared drains in within the hour. Quick service and very happy Tech was friendly, respectful, took his shoes off and cleaned up the mess. Gave me a warranty on works done. Very happy. Am getting them to check my split system next week
Had Cameron come out and replace our taps and shower head and fix our water hammer noise coming from our pipes. Would recommend this company and Cameron to family and friends.

Plumber came out and wanted money to diagnosed the problem as hot water was lukewarm. and then he wanted $2000-$4000 to make the water hotter. Got him out of my unit so quickly. Rang the head office and apparently I was in the wrong as being dishonest. Not only did they try to scam me but now I’m called a liar. Free quote doesn’t mean free quote it means we want money and your business. Please keep away them as they are scammers.
Got another plumbing company and got 2 nice blokes out and it was only $350 to fix problem. I rang… Read more

I found this company online to request a quote for a water heater installation on a Friday. During the consultation, the salesperson, Ali, pressured me to sign the quote immediately. When I asked about lead time, he emphasized that I had no hot water and needed it fixed urgently. He used persuasive language to push the sale and had me sign on… Read more
an iPad without fully explaining the details or presenting any documentation. I was also asked to pay a deposit on the spot.
On the following Monday, I called to cancel the job as the issue had resolved itself. No one answered the phone, so I submitted a cancellation enquiry online. T he next day, Tuesday, I called again and spoke with Paula, the receptionist, who mentioned a 10% cancellation fee. However, I was never informed of this fee at the time of booking, and nothing had been shown or explained to me before signing.
It took nearly two weeks for the cancellation request to be processed and forwarded to the refund department. I had not received any paperwork or confirmation email—only an invoice sent to me immediately after cancellation.
When I called again the next day, I was told the refund department was unavailable due to illness. Still having heard nothing, I called again three days later and spoke with a different receptionist, Mel, who confirmed that the cancellation was being processed and had been tagged for refund. Paula had also noted the cancellation in the system.
I called Mel again to follow up and confirm the status of the refund. She advised that the request has been tagged for refund and that it can take up to 28 days to process.
I explained to her that I was never informed about the 10% cancellation fee, and that no terms or conditions were shown to me by Ali at the time of booking—he simply asked me to sign to secure the job. When I previously spoke with Paula, she was quite blunt and stated it would take two weeks for a refund to be processed. I was also told that someone from the accounts team would call me back, but I’ve received no follow-up to date.
During my most recent call, Mel told me I didn’t need to call every day—which I found dismissive and unprofessional. Toward the end of the conversation, she became pushy, stating she had a line of other calls and was clearly trying to end the conversation abruptly.
Overall, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. The service has lacked transparency, communication, and basic courtesy.
I strongly advise against using Homefirst Service Plumbing. In my experience, their conduct has been highly unprofessional and dishonest. They charged an excessive markup for a basic plumbing job. Once payment was made, they became unresponsive and showed no interest in providing any follow-up support. They replaced all the under kitchen-sink… Read more
waste pipework to reduce an odour that was actually caused by external plumbing pressure but have since refused to provide a written report required by my body corporate to support my reimbursement claim. As a result, I am now out of pocket $1,237 for a job that I cannot claim.
Please do your due diligence: obtain multiple quotes before proceeding, and do not sign anything on the spot. I hope this helps others avoid a similarly frustrating and costly experience.

When I first rang comfy first I was actually told that my money wasn’t welcome at their company and I was very confused by that statement. I asked what did they mean by that? you must be the only company in Australia that can go you don’t do without a $30,000 you know payment into the company for for goods completely confused me but they were not giving me a chance at all to even get a quote so they hung up about 10 minutes later. I received a call back from them apologising profusely saying that when they brought out Home first that there was some box that was ticked on their computers so it apparently was saying I was a bad customer. But I didn’t owe any money or anything like that they were apologising. We can send someone out tomorrow to give you a quote okay? fair enough thank you. They came out. Gave me a quote for hot water. Aircon change over and also a split system in the back lounge room. that night I did some checking on the hot water system. It was a brand. I’d never heard of everything I found about that brand on the reviews was nothing but bad so I Asked to. I cancelled out of the hot water system and I meant to say also they were giving me the split system as a sorry because they had told me that they didn’t want my money in the beginning. They were giving me the split system for free as an apology. When I cut down the hot water I was told then it was gonna cost me $4000 because you know you don’t get nothing for free. I thought that was a bit rich so I was like oh no don’t worry about that one either when they were at my house at first we were discussing The whether it was to come through the roof for the floors. He was adamant for it to go through the flooring. I was okay with that until we got to the back part of the house which I then said unfortunately you can’t get to the underneath flooring of that part of the house so it will have to go through the Roof. Unfortunately he did not put that on the paperwork though which is what comfy home first do they don’t actually put things onto the actual paperwork so when you go back to complain you don’t have a leg to stand on it’s your word against theirs and of course they win when they came to actually install the Air conditioning. All the vans said Home first but comfy first told me that they had brought out Home first so I thought maybe they hadn’t gotten around to you know changing all the vans over because you know that can be an expensive part of the company but then they started going under the house to do it all and I pulled them up and I said no it’s supposed to be going in the roof and they’re like oh no that’s a different system. We called the guy up and he was like the one who actually did the quote and he’s like no Donna remember we told you it was going in the flooring spoke to me like a two year-old And if it was to go in the ceiling, it had to be another unit which was gonna cost me more apparently so I don’t understand what happened there but as I said there was nothing written on the actual quote to say it was to go through the roof and not the floor When they came up to the part of the floor where they couldn’t get underneath to all they’ve done is cut the old ducted heating part out and joined their part onto it. That’s just pathetic. I’ve paid $30,000 for this and gotten that sort of work. The front part of my house is super cold. I go through the kitchen and it is like a furnace in the back part of my house I had evaporative cooling before and that was a lot better. There are more vents in the roof of my house which is where I wanted it to be but as I said when I rang up and spoke to the gentleman who did the quote he said no remember Donna we said it was to go through the flooring and I didn’t have a leg to stand onand then when I went to pay you know the last little bit that we owed funny enough the bill is actually the company you pay is Home first so I don’t see how comfy first brought out Home first if everything is still in home first name. Be wary. I have lost $45,000 to these crooks.

Unprofessional bully – Adam from Homefirst came to provide a quote in a new hot water system. At first he was nice, friendly and informative. I told him 3 times that I can’t afford it and needed to think about it but he would not accept it so finally I had to call my ex-husband to talk to him. After the call he finally left. Very unprofessional, putting alot of pressure to sell and the price was ridiculousy expensive. They charged double of what other company would charge. Avoid them at all cost.

WARNING TO ANY POTENTIAL CLIENTS of HOMEFIRST – One year ago I had an air conditioner installed by this company. Unbelievably they failed to unfurl the drainage tube which resulted in flooding and warping of skirting boards. The skirting boards were subsequently taken off but the workman refused to lift the laminate flooring to check for water/mould as it was ‘too big a job.’ ONE YEAR LATER,… Read more
the skirting boards remain ripped off and are yet to be replaced. ALSO, when installing the unit the electrician cut the wrong wires in the fuse box resulting in loss of power and necessary replacement of parts. I can’t help but wonder if these people are actually fit to run a business. HOMEFIRST did not display the necessary degree of care and skill required by Australian Consumer Law and expected by this customer. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE anyone from using HOMEFIRST. If I could, I would give them a ZERO RATING.They are THE WORST !
RIP OFF – I cannot believe they(HOMEFIRST will NOT HONOUR Warranty on my 12mth old Bonaire evaporator cooling system that they installed, Now i have to pay Bonaire to come out & do testing and they dont come until you Pay $400 for a service fee. Highly recommend – Today I had Cameron and Mitch to replace a problem toilet, install new taps in my ensuite and a new shower head. They were very skilled, tidy and careful. Thank you for the great job.

The rare, and pleasant encounter with a tradesman who had the perfect balance of skills – The plumber we saw today was Jesse c, and we couldn’t be more impressed. Hugely Expensive – Have used them in the past and thought they were OK but pricey. This time I simply needed a couple of nails or screws to secure a loose floorboard next to the duct opening. While the guy was there he said it was essential that my heater was checked for leakage and had to be serviced. The next day they sent a person who looked about 14 years old to do it.
