Hi, I applied for release of my TPD approved funds over 5 weeks ago and received confirmation of my withdrawal. I sent all documentation in and my case manager confirmed that all was received in early september, I am still waiting for my funds to be released, why? I spoke to customer service several times and they advised it would take 1-3 business days it’s been almost 30 business days and I can still see the balance is still in my super account, when will I receive my funds? I keep getting told 3 days each time I speak to someone, they are just telling me what they need to do they can get me off the phone, how much longer will this take?

Why cant i speak to anyone is Australia??? I know these supposed customer service people are overseas because of the gap on the phone when speaking, and of course the bad english. Why do they need to lie?? I asked to speak to someone in Melbourne office and he said they were in melb office, than i remembered..its a public holiday in Melbourne today because of the cup, so yep, lies. I got an email to say my financial hardship was declined due to verification. I had a justice of the peace sign the forms, but they said because he wrote in where the occupation part is, that he is retired, its not valid?? He is retired from his regular work. His job is a not being a jp. There is no pay. Its a volunteer task(this is how its described on the nsw government website, so not an occupation) How can this be declined?? Its like pulling teeth to get answers. Im also waiting on tpd aswell... thats in the process since November last year! Still they making go to doctors, phone assessments and then I just got another email a couple of days ago saying i need to have a medical form completed. My doctors have done these and 2 independent doctors of your choosing have done them. How long can this process go on for?? Its a bloody joke. Its not as if im out living life, im stuck at home on crutches..have been since july last year. Answers for both, the financial hardship and the tdp would be appreciated. And im not calling the 1300 number again to speak with overseas ppl who don't have any idea whats going on. I have submitted an email to the info email, but doubt ill hear anything because i hardly ever do.

How long does it take for an accepted TPD Claim to be paid? My solicitors have been following it up with very delayed response of ‘we will email once it has been sent to accounts for processing’. It has now been over 3 weeks since you received the completed payment documents so why hasn’t it been sent to accounts already and how much longer will it be until it is? Why is there such long delays?

I have done just that, would appreciate a response in a timely manner unlike the lack of responses we have been getting. Even my solicitor has said payment seems to be unusually slow.

This will be interesting to see what the answer to my question will be on here - hopefully more accurate than the last 6 phone calls I've made. Can anyone please let me know how long my funds will take to appear in my nab account... my claim was approved over a week ago - since then my approved claim has been with the "accounts" team bring "processed" finally today around lunchtime my funds had come out of my online account but haven't appeared yet in my nab account. Since we are no longer in the days of the standard 3 business day transfer and have the advantage of osko & fast payments one would assume if the funds came out of my super account well before 5pm today I should've received them by now. Nab is one of the top 4 banks and even the ato transfer of my tax took less than 8hrs once approved so can anyone tell me a precise answer to where my funds are and when I can expect them to appear in my account and not some bullshit "we understand your frustration" or "we apologise for the delay" answer...

Hostplus   DM

Hi Alicia, thanks for reaching out. Once a payment leaves your Hostplus account, the timeframe for the bank to receive it is 1-3 business days. Regards, Hostplus

Hello - it can be very frustrating in making any withdrawal from my super fund. To complete a form manually, obtain a JP signature of my driver's licence and then post through snail mail; and wait about a week for the money to appear in my bank account is all too arduous and outdated! When will withdrawals be able to be made electronically as we were able to do in our former super fund (Statewide Super) which has been taken over by Hostplus. Very happy with investment returns but withdrawals are a real pain! Is there any move to improve this situation? Thank you.

I'm an employer and one of our employees was with Statewide and now Hostplus. All of her Superannuation of 30 years with Statewide has disappeared since you guys took over. She rang Hostplus and you don't even have any record of her name, but you have 30 years of her Super. Disgusting!!

My partner continues to be screwed around by your staff when all it take is 1 form to be resent.

I expect a prompt reply to this message and a reasonable solution.

I recommend anyone to stay away from host plus, they operate using out dated technology while their fund managers take as much money as they can from their clients, should you ask for what you’re entitled to though that’s to much to ask for

Why is it so hard to get a straight answer on where my funds are? I applied for compassionate release of super for surgery, then the funds were paid to the wrong account, ive had a complaint raised (8 days ago) and still have had no call to explain where it is at- ive gone through resolutions- they say 45 days! Afca got back to me quicker than hostplus! Im currently on 16th BUSINESS day since my application was processed and still nothing! Each day that passes, gives me more reasons to look at investing my super elsewhere!

Lynnette
Lynnette

Getting no answers is my frustration too. Whoever you ring " doesn't have that information but will email the appropriate person", and no they " can't transfer you, and no don't know when someone will get back to you". So you have to ring them and get the same answer over and over. They know they have 45 days before AFCA can act so why hurry? Looking at their reviews, this appalling customer service has been experienced by many people and the only way we can say ENOUGH is to leave Host Plus because talking to them doesn't work.

Cathryn M.

I empathise with you both. I have had conflicting information over the phone. regularly. They do anything they can, not to release the money this rightfully yours, to you. In my circumstances I have been refused twice because I had not been receiving Centrelink benefits for the required time, I was penalised for working & continuing to earn & to contribute to my Superannuation Funds. I have experienced homelessness twice & domestic violence twice. It appears that making a complaint to to higher independant body or community legal service is the only way forward now. Pretty shameful isnt it. Interesting that we are all women. I wonder if men have the same experiences with Hostplus.

What amount can I expect to recieve from my fund if I apply for an early release of $4000.00 due to severe hardship

Hostplus
Hostplus   DM

Hi Kerrie,

Thanks for reaching out.

It is paid and taxed as a normal super lump sum. If you are under 60 years old, this is generally taxed between 17% and 22%. If you are older than 60 years old, you will not be taxed.

Regards, Hostplus

Dave
Dave

You need to have ceased an employment arrangement after aged 60 for it to be tax free. If you were unemployed at age 60 it is not tax free, and will have implications on centrelink benefits.

I did and they have one of the worst and useless customer service. I explained everything to them and they hung up on me and the customer service representative even told me he is going to disconnect the line. Like seriously i was just requesting him to find a way and I was very respectful didn’t said anything offensive but still! Anyway i will switch to another superannuation company soon. Very poor service and unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone
