Husqvarna Emerald 116 / 118 / 122 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi I have an Emerald 116 and I have been sewing on it for a long time. Two days ago it started sewing extremely fast with only the slightest amount of pressure on the foot. This model has no speed adjustments, so I am at a loss. There is no variation in speed now, it is either nothing or super fast. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does anyone else struggle to fully "seat" the 118 cover? It hits the horizontal spool holder!?!
Emerald 118: With straight stitching, the thread jams. I replaced and re threaded the main and bobbin threads. I cleaned out dust from the bobbin case and surrounding areas. I changed needle and it still jams. What else needs to be done?
I need the sew steady v125-4 { table extension } for the Husqvarna emerald , where can I buy it from?
Thanks George
Take it to your local Husqvarna dealer and get them to fix it. I think they are a "POS", like their chainsaws.
This table broke across the middle , it actually snap an half .
The bottomhole is not working anymore on 166?
where can i get a dog feed part for a 122 ?
My hardly used emerald 118 was sewing fine )although I did have a little trouble with the automatic button hole, which twice jammed the thread into a wad on back. Had to rip out and do again. That I figured was me. Since it was first time i used this foot.) I sewed about 40 small straight seam quilt pieces after that. When i went to do more, machine jammed. Like wheel won’t turn. It tries like a horse straining at the bit. I manually turned wheel as sometimes this gets it moving. Then the wheel totally froze solid. As per instructions I cleaned bobbin, and i took off left side to check if anything caught or jammed. Nothing. ( its not the bobbin winder) Don’t know how, or if, I should take off rest of main case although i saw a YouTube of some guy blowing dust out for my problem. I had an earlier version of this machine and liked it. After 40 years it had a problem that was too expensive to repair. I am afraid to take this new machine in. I literally have used it for 2 mending projects and several masks until this last weekend when i made two shirts and started a quilt . Any ideas how yo unfreeze? Marlene
I would love to help but mine did the same thing after very little use. I took it to Joann's where I bought it and the tech couldn't even figure out how to get inside of it. I ditched it and bought a Brother GX37 for less than half what Viking/Husky wanted just to look at the Emerald. I've used it on a few projects and it works fine, though I have trouble getting the tension just right. Good luck!
I bought my Emerald new just two years ago and sold it a year later after getting frustrated with various problems like yours. I was very disappointed, and have since replaced it with a Janome 3000. It too had great reviews, and I'm not loving it either. I read that it can breeze through denim and leather, but apparently, by the time I bought it, the wind had died down. I've had it for two years and am ready to trade it in for an old Singer that's been professionally serviced and is built like a tank. The search goes on. I hope you get some relief soon. It's so frustrating to be in the middle of a project and have your machine jam on you.
What is the size of the bobbin for this emerald 118 please
I bought a emeral 116 used and it was very dirty so I cleaned it up. After putting it back together it saws in reverse and if I press the reverse button it saws forward. Any Idea what I need to do?
I have rarely used my Emerald 116, but I just started making some bean bags for a corn hole game. The machine started getting slower and slower and finally came to a stop. Now it is totally frozen - can't turn the handwheel at all. Even the bobbin winder is frozen. The needle is new and I've checked for any fuzz or threads in the bobbin area - all is clean. I've even removed the bottom cover, and everything looks clean and nice inside. Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone know how to get the case off so I can get to the inside?
Pressure foot won’t stay up sometimes. Any ideas?
I have a brand new machine threading it for the very first time. I have the Emerald 116. BTW this is my second machine I have threaded this type of machine many times. After coming across the top and down the first slot then going up into the second slot with the needle bar the thread is catching on something in the second slot a not moving smoothly anymore. I think it’s a defect in this brand new machine, but thought I would check if anyone else had this issue. It is not the notch on the spool either.
raise the sewing foot up. (when you put it down to sew it grabs the thread in the tension thingamabob) I hope this is all that is wrong.
sorry I just now saw your question. please post back to me if this works. ;)
Will the bobbins from a 118 sewing machine fit a 116 machine?
I have a new husquarna116 emerald and I am stumped. With my previous machine I was able to rise thebpressure foot ca 1 inch with this one maybe 1/2 cm. Is there a special attachment to rise the foot higher or is this just the wrong machine for me?
I wish. My Elna was better on that score. Wish the Emerald lifted higher.
Needle broke, replaced, blew out the lint and went back to my sewing, now it will not pick up bobbin or top thread. tried everything. almost finished my quilt but at a stop.
Do I have to use a certain brand of string and what settings do I use for sewing with Fleece
My machine is on. When you pressure on the foot you can hear the machine work but there is no stitching?
push the big button (used for the bobbin fill)on the wheel in. (to the right side of the machine).
Emerald 118 question: I can’t get my R foot for automatic buttonholes to work correctly. It won’t stitch backwards only side to side, never stops and doesn’t make the button hole at all. I’ve triple checked it’s in the right position and all the settings are correct. Anyone have this issue? Any ideas?
Viking 118 what are the dial settings for the basic zigzag stitch?
The light on my machine will not turn on. All connections have been checked and I have a new bulb. Any suggestions?
