Don’t sign up with these guys because they don’t let you disconnect. They will keep taking your money. They’ll make you go around in circles until eventually actually have to close your bank account which is the most inconvenience. I have lodge a complaint with the Australian Ombudsman this company shouldn’t be allowed to trade in Australia. And if they keep going, I’ll be asking for a compensation. Show details
My experience using iiNet as my ISP has been dismal. Due to severely under performing download speed and service, after 3 months I cancelled the service. Despite returning the modems using their free return service (they sent me a second modem because in their efforts to get my down and uploads speeds up to scratch their first modem sent was… Read more

How to lose a customer – Problem: Low signal strength and increasing dropouts. We made 3 successive attempts via iinet for them to make contact with NBN all without any resolution. Iinet stonewalled us by saying that NBN said there is no issue with the connection, despite no NBN technician came out, and our equipment being 16 years old. After 16 years with iinet we… Read more
changed to Aussie Broadband who immediately contacted NBN, who sent a technician and replaced both internal and external units, saying they had a policy of replacing old equipment of this age. In my opinion iinet's personnel connection to customers is lacking.

Constantly dropping out – Constantly dropping out or very low speeds (as low as 1.5) Call and complain and it picks up again for a while then drop back so cannot even watch a TV show Show details

Great fast alternative to NBN – Excellent introductory offer then went to the same price as NbN deals. Speedtested a while ago at >70. Just tested at 50. See picture. A lot depends on where you are relative to node. Show details · 1
Fixed wireless – Connection is generally good , no major dropouts but some fluctuations in speed. Certainly a much faster connection than my previous ADSL2. Iinet have provided excellent customer service and support. This screen shot was taken at 18:10. Ay of my issues have been resolved very quickly. Show details · 1

Adele changed my views of the service I had received from iinet! – No internet or mobile service for 6 days, I need to be compensated for down time. There was a bright star when Adele stepped in and fixed the internet, she was very professional and gave us hope. She was very helpful, confident, and very patient whilst going through the recovery process. Adele needs to be awarded a Gold Medal for the work she had… Read more · 1

Thank you very much Adele; Keep up the excellent work! You need the 5 Stars Adele! Regards, Danny Ross
Fast connection for me. No problems – When I signed up. It was 59.95. then it went to 64.95. I had stop getting wireless broadband as it went past 60.00 for me. Then I signed up for mobile phone services on a special deal of 15.00 for 6 MTHS then 30.00. The internet service speed is just as fast as getting wireless broadband. I m pleasantly surprised. because the internet stops working in the morning until 10 am. Then around 1 pm to 5 pm. Optus services from using Coles mobile was the same problem too.
The staff mostly comprised of ppl from Philippines. They are trained to listen very well. They spoke fluently and slowed down for me as it's difficult to hear on the phone sometimes. To sign up services, I'm referred to south African staff. They are always professional and courteous. Well trained qualify staff with a good ear. I'm never disappointed.
I wish I knew sooner then I wouldn't need to pay for home wireless broadband.
Exemplary customer service – We've been with iinet for over 15 years now, and simply cannot fault their customer service. If ever there's an issue (rare indeed) their tech support is always willing and able to fix it. And any account changes, moving processes, etc are handled efficiently and effectively. Great mob! Garbage – Signed up with iiNet and paid $139 for a modem and 1 months unlimited data package. My internet would not connect because the sales team provided me with the wrong information. Then they connected me to the wrong house an NBN technician told me. Waited for an eternity to get a call back, was difficult to hear because there were kids screaming at a… Read more

Update 25/08/2023 Got (most of) my money back. What an ordeal! Signed up with Aussie Broadband; brilliant! Got me connected the very next day and internet has been great since. GoodbiiNet.
Customer service does not exist – This is the worst company for customer service, do not use them it is as simple as that. The call centre is next to useless and after waiting online for the best part an hour the rude operator hang up on me because the dog was barking. Show details

Second review in as many weeks – The first review—a couple weeks ago—wasn’t a glowing one as the product and customer service is crap. This morning I discovered iiNet has billed me after the service was cancelled two weeks ago, and after I insisted they send me an email confirming cancellation. One word, THIEVES.

Review of NBN50 and iinet – Generally efficient service. Quite fast. I use it for business and emails. On occasions, I have had an issue (very infrequent). When that has happened, I have contacted iinet, and they have sorted out the problem efficiently, with very little delay. Show details
Keep charging me twice for fetch – I have been a customer for many years. Their service used to be ok but now it is a disgrace. Each time I receive my bill they charge me twice for Fetch tv and the extra channels. I keep ringing them and they credit my account (no refund) and tell me it wont happen again. Well what do you know it keeps happening and happening. On this last bill I… Read more
emailed them and told them they had charged me twice and to fix it up. I received an email saying it would take 3-5 days. They then send me an sms on the 5th day saying they will have to look into it. Why send me an sms I was communicating via email I dont want an sms. Even after I told them i was double charged they still charged my credit card the full amount including the over charges. I called them and asked for a supervisor and needless to say they wouldnt put me through to one. I was given the run around and kept getting told it would have to be looked into. If I didnt check my bill they would have just kept stealing my money. I have wasted so many hours trying to fix this and am sick to death of Iinets poor service. I have just signed up for Aussie broadband so I hope they have better customer service.

IINET IS THE BEST – Iinet is the best. Speed is good and never drops outs. You are kept informed if there are any work happening in your area, with dates and times in case you might get drop-outs. If you need any assistance at all, their customers service is exceptional. I highly recommend Iinet. Give them a go. You won't be sorry. A1 all-round service. Show details
Just Run. Terrible Service – Hopeless. Extremely rude staff, took over 10 phone calls to cancel our service because the internet service was useless, and they kept stuffing the cancellation up. Less than 5 mbps download and 1 upload, and phone hadn't worked for 12 months. Apparently you have to pay for a phone service to have internet. IInet still trying to bill us $20 odd for services dated after cancellation, and harassing phone calls. Stay away. Show details

Don't expect emails ...they just don't arrive – No issues with connection to internet, speed or reliability of the internet. Receiving emails though is a different story. expect to receive probably 1 in every 10 or 20. Good connections, maintains speed except in storms (to be expected) – Have a few outages but nearly always due to NBN screwing around with their network. Have been happy with the speed, except in the evenings when the traffic load goes up I can see a dip of up to 50% Show details
Always very good and precise instructions and advice from iinet team – No issues, always very good advice, service and patience from iinet team members. Occasional dropouts but not a problem, probably my old Mac computer. Not sure if the speed is what I should expect as I don't know what is an acceptable or unacceptable speed should be, or how I can measure it. Not very tech savvy unfortunately, all I know is the system always seems to work for me, so thank you team iinet! Show details
Reliable and regular – Service has had good regular high speeds, great when working from home. 11-12 mbs, so really happy, can't recall any drop outs. Phone service is always helpful, even when it's my error. Show details
Hopefully get internet back before Christmas – I would love to thanks the iiNet Customer Teams for making me renew with my inner kid. Indeed, calling them every day for the past week and a half feels like playing Pokemon. miracle can happen and maybe by Christmas they will evolve to Gyarados and internet will be back in our house... Or maybe I should switch game and start making spells and incantations and our connection will magically reappear.... Right now I starting to wonder if it wouldn't be the simplest way as I am starting to loose hope, and my boyfriend what polite conversation means... I am trying to keep my sense of humour righting this review but trust me it is to hide the highest level of frustration I had ever experience in my life. It has been over a week now that we are calling iiNet almost every day to fix an issue with our connection...every time we call it seems like our case is right to scare one...between the advisors who schedule a technician to come, to get the appointment cancelled for no obvious reason, those who apparently raise a case to a manager to learn the next day nothing had been done....to finally get a manager on the case who calls at the end of his shift and not in the morning like promise... and more and more proof that we are just good to pay the bills but not have a decent service.... We are really on the verge to change providers... I would love to say that we could save the money to buy a real gameboy colour and all the old Pokemon game...unfortunately I need to work from home...to do my job which is guess what? A customer service job for an ISP.... So I send this bottle to the sea, mostly to lighten my mood and my boyfriend's one but also let iiNet CM passing by know that Pokemon is not dead but iiNet might finish in a dusty drawer when kids will grow up fed of a customer service who doesn't deliver...

Things have changed lately with IINET – In the past I have submitted very bad reviews of customer service and attempting to deal with this service provider. I believe. I am very happy with the price I pay for monthly service and renewed with them. If you are moving to Tasmania make sure you are able to get internet before you buy or rent. As a few kms from me people are not able to get any service. I am very happy with IINET this year.
Best internet coverage – Been with iiNet for 6 months and just signed on for another 6 months. Was with iprimus before and had drop outs all the time looked around. Especially at reviews. Been with Telstra and Optus before and wasted my time. Was with them with adsl and cable. Won’t be leaving iiNet again. Not interested going anywhere else. Also found iiNet customer service is great as well. If you are on hold they get back to you quickly. Show details · 1

Generally reliable service. Very rarely offline – I've been with iiNet for thirteen years. Initially the NBN service appeared to be throttled to 5Mbps and less but it has been great the last couple of years. The only unresolved issue I have is that they "upgraded" my modem without my permission and removed certain features. It's MY modem, I paid for it, they should leave it alone. amazing speeds that are available around the world, being limited to 12Mbps is just archaic. I could pay more for 25Mbps but I don't think I should have to.

Great service and support, internet has been excellent – I have been a customer of iinet for many years and have been very happy with the service provided and pricing. Our internet is very reliable and a good speed depending on how many people are accessing it at once. Any issues we've had (very few over many years) have been sorted quickly with very helpful technicians. Show details · 1
