I cant even give it a one star... Im very frustrated. I purchased a sofa bed last week, I asked before purchasing if I can change the delivery address as we might be moving to a new house before the delivery date. I was told I can just call up and change it, only to find out they are unable to do that. Now I have the sofa bed coming to a house where we no longer live, and my only option is t cancel the order get a refund and purchase it again.... I dont have 3days for the refund to arrive to my account, and certainly not gonna pay out another $800 before I get it....my family is coming from overseas and will have nothing to sleep on! Well done guys.....
Rude customer service
I love IKEA, but their express check out 'guards' are extremely rude and treat you as a convicted criminal. I bought a few small items today, packed it all in my own shopping bag. Was closely watched during the whole process. As soon as I paid for everything, this rude 'guard' jumps in front of me, saying he's gonna count my items. And then unpacks my bag! I had two cranky toddlers with me and wanted to get out asap. But thanks to the rude 'guard', I ended up spending extra time packing my bag second time. I asked him if he was going to put my ...items back into my bag and he just ignored me. Maybe if they want to check customers' bags and flip then inside out, they should pack it all back up? He also had to stick his head into my pram basket and shovel through my kids' stuff. Everytime I have to go through check out they make me feel unwelcomed and treat me as if I have stollen something. Disgusting.
Limited Kitchen Hardware
Installed another IKEA kitchen for clients recently with the included hardware fittings, and had to run down to Lincoln Sentry again to grab a Cabiseal for the dishwasher. When will they upgrade their fittings to the local standards so installers can offer the best finish without running around for extra parts. Maybe they don't offer them because they're Australian made?
The Swedish have the right idea
I purchased a whole bunch of stuff to set up my nursery over the last few months. Some larger things I had to order and they always got delivered on time. The customer service was fantastic and when I changed my mind on a few products and wanted to exchange or a refund, it was all easily processed. Even thought building some of the furniture with my husband almost ended our marriage, when we finally did put it together, we were very happy with ourselves and the quality of the products. I must admit I’m a little addicted to IKEA and will keep shopping there for years to come!
I am trying to track a delivery and have been kept waiting on the phone for 28 minutes and eventually having to give up because there is no indication of waiting time frames. Extremely frustrating and have got nowhere.
Needs to improve customer service !!!
Bad picker service.
We are not a big fan of Ikea products but we tried for the first time and it was not great. We ordered a TV entertainment cabinet. We paid for pick and delivery service but the picker did not pick the right parts for us. We got to drive back to return the item and the right item was not out of stock. (How can Ikea stock control is so poor around Christmas period when they have sales on?) we waited for a few days for the item arrived in store and pick up the item (we paid for delivery). We put our feet down at the store to make sure Ikea booked us a installer on the day we want instead of calling the phone to order ourself as we will not get through. It would be our first and last experience using their after sales service.
We were meant to get a delivery from IKEA the best time they could give us was 8.00am to 8.00 pm waited all day it is now 8.00 pm and no delivery. Now its too late to contact any one and it looks like tomorrow will need to be written off as well. I hope we get our delivery fee refunded
Delivered new mattress but refused to take away old mattress
I bought a mattress on 15Dec and booked delivery for 27Dec and paid for delivery and removal of the existing mattress($99). The sales person Joel made 2 separate bookings, 1 for delivery and 1 for collection. I questioned whether that would create a problem and he assured me it wouldn't. The new mattress arrived this morning and the delivery men told me that they were there to deliver only, not collect. I called and spoke to Matt at Ikea who told me to call back once the allotted time slot had expired. After a 30 minute hold I was advised that ...the booking had been made incorrectly by Joel. They offered a $30 refund and advised that they could not arrange for the existing mattress to be removed. The supervisor even asked if I could arrange someone from AirTasker to come and take it away?? They are now coming to collect Sunday morning and will be giving me a full refund for the mattress, delivery and removal fee and a $50 voucher. All I have to do is sit at home for 4 hours this morning, and another 4 hours Sunday morning and have a mattress block my hallway. What is the point in charging for a service that you can not deliver on?? A total waste of my time and theirs.
Forget rural delivery
I wanted to buy a small item to add to a kitchen cabinet before kitchen installed. I live in a rural area and was planning on delivery - nope - Ikea's delivery charge was $999. So I looked into arranging another delivery service (quoted at $80) - they asked me to arrange this to be waiting at loading dock. I contacted Ikea and was told that they will not allow other carriers to pick up as they have their own freight company. I stated $999 was ridiculous for an item the is 100cm long and 11cm high flat packed. The sales woman agreed that $999 wa...s over the top, but just told me to make a complaint on their website. Then tried to direct me of where to complain, but couldn't even find it herself. Ikea is probably great if you live nearby, but not for people outside of the city...
Got Kallax 4 cube faulty with hole and warped top and bottom ikea picked up and replaced as I’m 100+km away and sent a gift voucher top service would have been happy with replacement. Great service for first ikea furniture experience will shop agai thanks IKEA

Worst customer experience and forget trying to contact them - you can’t!!!!
Delivery has not turned up - twice!!! I have waited at home for over 8 hours over two occasions and received no contact. When I try to contact - forget it. Don’t respond to emails, don’t pick up the phones, tried to call via other states - just as bad, and today the phone does not even connect to anything!!! Seriously will be wanting a refund you do not deserve my money!
delivery is a joke
We spent over $5000 on storage and furniture from Ikea.
We paid for and booked our delivery and install 3 weeks in advance. The delivery driver did not show up on the day. Nor did anyone call. We were compensated the delivery fee and a new date was booked for delivery.
On the second delivery day the delivery driver did not show up AGAIN! I spent 1 hour and 24 minutes on hold to IKEA only to be told that my items could not be delivered AGAIN! they tried to re book the delivery for 2 weeks later.
What a joke! Lets see what happens the next time they try to deliver.
IKEA, for the international company your customer service is absolutely hopeless!

Went to the Ikea store in Springvale we only wanted to look at one product but due to their design we were forced to walk around and around and around thru product we were not interested in, I was getting very annoyed trying to find my way out of this nightmare, we left and ordered on line for delivery on the 27/9/ only to have no delivery no contact from Ikea at all after 25 minutes waiting to find out about my order I was told they were out of stock of some items this will be my first and definitely my LAST time I will ever visit a store or buy online absolutely never again.
Delivery is awfully atrocious
Yeah sure I still like Ikea for its food and great variety of furnitures but their delivery service is terrible.
I am not one to leave review but this experience was bad. . Our sofa could not fit through the stairs to get to our apartment so we thought we'd get the box open and move the contents because that would work. Delivery men initially say they can't do that because they're 3rd party so they don't want to be liable for whatever damages. Ok fine, we understand that.. We let them take it back but we got like 2-3 calls after because eac...h time they said they left something extra at our place. At this time, we have not fully moved into our new apartment but was living nearby so we would travel back and forth and thus, we travelled back and forth 2-3 times because they keep forgetting something. After all that, we finally got a last call from them saying, they got the "OK" from Ikea to open up the box and move the content for us. Okay great!! but when we wanted them to move the sofa down the stairs to the living area, they said they wouldn't do it because again, 'liabilities'.... Honestly, I thought they provide a delivery service that delivers your item directly to the area you want the item to be in but I guess not. Either way, now we have to move the sofa ourselves after a long day of unnecessary crap. There were more issues like being put on hold the phone for a loooooong time but I am just going to focus on their delivery because this was the one that I am really most unsatisfied and frustrated with. Ikea, please step up your customer service game because you're one of my favourite places to go to and shop but this just sours my view of the brand. Originally was gonna give 1 star but I do like their food so 1 more star for that :)
Horrible Customer Service
Bought a TV unit. It had 2 sections. Spent 2 hours assembling the Top section. The screws are of very low quality. Very tedious to assemble. Anyway, when we tried assembling the bottom section we realized two major parts were missing. we looked over and over again, the parts were no where to be found. Next day called customer service to get help. It took 1 hour for the representative to come online, while the message kept repeating "we will be with you shortly". After one hour someone came online and didn't even bother to apologize. On top of i...t she had a very callous attitude. I was very frustrated at this point. I could tell she was ready to give me a runaround after what I had already gone through. I spent another hour to disassembled everything. Took it back to the store and returned. To their credit they returned without a fuss. However, by now I had already spent 7-8 hours trying to fix this thing. No to mention the trip back to Ikea with all the disassembles parts. I have decided not to shop at Ikea ever again. Horrible customer service over the phone is the main reason for this. If anything goes wrong its a nightmare!
Excellent kitchen and customer service
My husband and I designed, bought and installed an Ikea kitchen which included; all cabinetry, ceramic sink, oven, dishwasher, range hood and inbuilt microwave and it all works perfectly well over two years later. The new kitchen looks fantastic and at a fraction of the cost of installing a custom built kitchen. Also, I don't know if many people know this but Ikea appliances are made by Whirlpool and/or Electrolux and sold through Ikea with a 5 year Warranty (we only got 2 year warranty on the Whirlpool cooktop i bought elsewhere). After months...of researching the best place to buy a flat-pack kitchen we realised that Ikea had such clever designs that would use all the space possible, such as hidden drawers, pull-out corner cabinets, tap open drawers (such as the bin cabinet under the sink to free ones hands when washing), smart bamboo drawer organisers and all affordable on the tight budget we had. Also, we were so happy with the kitchen that we also decided to renovate the laundry with similar cabinetry and ceramic sink. I have to admit I'm a fan of Ikea because whenever we changed our minds on anything, we just took it back to Ikea Springvale and they always no-questions-asked refunded our money.
