My wife have used insureandgo for a number of years. I still check every trip to see which is the best insurance option. Insureandgo wins hands down every time. Luckily I have never had the need to make a claim, I am sure that their customer service would help with any issue we may have. Show details

I’ve taken out policies with Insure and Go over the years - and although I haven’t had to submit a claim, I feel extremely confident in their product and coverage. The staff are professional, and very knowledgable - we’re always very impressed with the support and the price! Fantastic value for money! 5 stars! (We always hope we don’t need to use their service, but it’s a great safety net to have!) Show details · 1
I never claimed yet, which means i have great/lucky travels – I'm very happy with InsureandGo whenever I go overseas. Thank you!! Show details · 1

Travel insurance for Thailand stay – Haven't had to make a claim as yet so can't comment on process. To choose a plan was fast and easy to do even for a computer dinosaur like me The fees are reasonable for plan provided . Hoping I don't need to use . Cheers Dave Show details · 1

My family and I recently completed an overseas trip, we had purchased a travel insurance policy with added Natural Disaster coverage from InsureandGo a few weeks before departure. Our trip was impacted by a natural disaster, so we claimed for the… Read more
accommodation expenses incurred due to this event, our claim was denied as we were "not covered for a travel delay".
This company will use whatever means available to deny your claim. Why provide coverage for a natural disaster at all if you then deny claims attributed to a natural disaster.
When an event occurs and you need support, don't count on InsureandGo to be there for you.
Update: InsureandGo contacted me via phone to discuss my review. They stuck to the narrative that Natural Disaster coverage is only applicable to your level of cover.....weasal words. If that's the case, clearly define on the "add-on" page what is covered and not covered with each option, as the current wording does not sufficiently broadcast the limitations. As things stand, the Natural Disaster add-on coverage seems to be nothing more than a way to extract extra money from people.
Our claim was for a minor amount of money ($400 minus excess), I am just thankful that our claim was not for a substantial amount.
Follow-up · Excess was $100 (this isn't paid unless the claim is successful). The natural disaster was a typhoon which shut down all transportation leaving Cebu. Left us stranded with short time to find accommodation.

Having booked my international flights, the next "must do", was of course, Travel Insurance. Now I'm an avid traveller, regularly purchasing yearly multitrip policies until Covid disrupted everything. Yearly multitrip policies were no longer offered, until recently, and still can be value if holidaying more than 12 weeks, over a number of… Read more · 1
trips.....but for this trip, I was travelling to China only for 4 weeks or so. Comparison sites quoted $270 up to $420 for a "Bare Essentials" policy...I was about to pull the trigger until a Promo appear on my FB feed.......Insureand Go with a 13% discount.....Same coverage as the others, and saving me $80 for a couple (of Seniors)..... I'm not worried about delayed/lost luggage, nor cancellations nor any of the other stuff. .... I now travel with well established Airlines where I've never experienced any issues before. (Unlike some....Malaysian Airlines, Philippine Air, Latam, Viet, China Eastern to name a few.....). Insureand Go was easy to navigate, and offered all the regular options, like snow sports, cruising, etc. The Bare Essentials covers me and my wife for medical and repatriation and of course indemnity....that's all I need....Over the decades I've bought full comprehensive, and never claimed a cent....I wasted enough on extra insurance to go on multiple overseas holidays......If I lose a phone.....I'll buy a new one. If I break my camera, I'll buy a newer one.....Should my luggage disappear, I buy some t shirts and shorts...basically I don't need those extras.....I'm only interested in real emergency coverage, and the Bare Essentials with a 13% discount is a sure winner. Thank you, Insure and GO!
As the name implies. Just Insure and GO – My Insure and Go Policy was easy to purchase and with the 3 tiers of options, it was clear which would be suitable for what I wanted. Medical only as I didn't forsee any issues whatsoever. Boy was I wrong! Now here's a story for you. The unexpected. I had booked a 14 night cruise to the Antarctic with NCL aboard their Norwegian Star, embarking… Read more · 3
from Buenos Aires (Argentina) on the 29th Jan 2023. The holiday included 4 nights in Buenos Aires prior to the cruise, and a further one week after. All was going well until the 29th Jan. I arrived at the passenger terminal at 11:30am, expecting to board by 12:30pm. Our cruise itinerary included a stop at Punta Arenas (Chile), and in the T&C's, buried somewhere, it was stated that visas and travel documentation was the responsibility of the traveller. I had applied for a transit visa for Chile, over a month prior whilst still in Sydney. This application was still processing as I left Australia on the 24th Jan 2023. I had received at least 3 emails in the fortnight prior to embarkation, from NCL and my travel agent regarding the need for Covid related documentation. Aghast! I was not permitted to board the vessel without this visa. This was the first I had known of this situation happening. Previous cruises had allowed passengers without the Chilean visa to board. In the past, one could apply for the visa whilst onboard, or, if this was not possible, they would merely stay aboard the vessel, and NOT disembark in Chile. I was not alone. About 50 or more Australian passport holders were not allowed to board the vessel at Buenos Aires. All had not received a visa from the Chilean Consulates in various capital cities in Australia. 8 hours later (after waiting for my luggage to be retrieved off the boat), I booked into a nearby hotel, and emailed my local member back in Sydney (14 hour time difference), and told them of my predicament. The following day, a received a reply, stating my local member would assist, and asked for names and passport numbers of the affected Aussies. I only had the details for myself, my wife, and two travel companions. The second day, I received the visas via email. I could rejoin the cruise at the 2nd port of call at Puerta Madryn Day 3 of the cruise. My Travel Agent was also working on an alternative, whereby we could rejoin the cruise after the Chilean port, on Day 8 of the cruise, at Ushuaia, but had not contacted me yet, as advised. That evening, I decided to make my own way to Puerta Madryn, and booked 4 air tickets ....it was after midnight now, and the flights were for noon the following day. I received confirmation of the payment, however not confirmation of the ticket allocation. I advised our travel agent of our decision, and of the attainment of visas........it was 2:30am. The morning came, and still no ticket confirmation, so after breakfast, we headed to the airport to check-in. (Our agent had read my email, and arranged a hotel overnight at Puerta Madryn). At the airport counter, we were advised there was only one ticket booked, and the flight was sold out. I argued that the online company had accepted payment for 4 passengers, and 4 pieces of checked-in luggage, and showed him the emails pertaining. He answered that the airline does not manage the online sales by third-party sales....we were sunk!! No other flights were available, and the following day would be too late. Bus or train options were also not practical. At this airport, in the car rental section, they had two booths called "Remiss"...which I gathered was "car with driver". This seemed like an option....They quoted an 8 hour drive.....sure , it was extreme, but we really wanted to board the cruise. They quoted an amount of 750000 pesos......without hesitation, my companions said, let's do it...there's not much choice....I had to agree. Out came my companion's American Express card, and payment was swift. The Remiss company had to ring around to find a driver and car, during which time they checked the route....."Oh the trip might be 12 to 14 hours long!"....We were committed by then. We waited at the airport for a further hour, for the company to arrange the details, and we left the airport at around noon, in a Renault Kangoo, a small wagon of sorts, quite uncomfortable for the 3 in the back, and even for me, with my knees jammed against the dash. Our driver was very experienced, a 63yo gentleman with "No hablas Anglaise"...great! Two hours into our long journey, we had only just crossed the outskirts of Buenos Aires, and the GPS still said another 14 hours to go.....Via Google Translate, I asked to driver to go a little faster, and indicated we did not want to take breaks....He obliged and sat on the speed limit from then on. At 3am, 15 hours into this drive, we were all jolted by an almighty "thump ker bang!".....we had hit a large pothole, and burst two tyres on the right-hand passenger side. The driver kept the car travelling straight until it stopped. We were in the middle of nowhere. No street lights, no cell coverage, no internet...nothing. My GPS indicated we were still 2 hours from Puerta Madryn, and our driver had fallen into complete shock. He didn't know what to do. He was "useless" (poor bugger). Things didn't get better after this, suffice to say, we did finally reach our hotel on Puerta Madryn at 9:45am, had breakfast, a shower, and checked out again by 10:45am to meet the boat at the pier. At the pier, we waited for over two hours to be allowed to board...standing with our luggage, no seats, no shade, just surrounded by police with automatic weapons......Great! For the sake of expedience, I won't outline these details after the blown tyres....this review would get far too long. I know the onus is on the traveller to obtain all required travel documentation, and that I and 50 other Australians had failed to do so for this particular cruise. Everyone suffered due to this omission, some more than others. Do you think Insure and Go might/ could be of assistance to me and my companions?
Yours sincerely mikef50
Avoid Insure and Go at all costs! – I got the basic cover for a trip to Europe - with the understanding (based on their product disclosure statement) that this would be suitable in the event of any major medical issues, loss or theft of personal items, or baggage issues. Unfortunately, a few personal items (including my phone) were stolen from a locker, and so I lodged my claim with… Read more
Insure and Go the moment I returned from my trip, making sure to upload all the necessary documents.
I was initially told that it could take up to 10 days to receive notice of an outcome. After 10 days passed, I received another email that said that it could be up to another 10 days before receiving an outcome. I waited the full 20 business days, plus another few days, before reaching out to follow up. This was about 3 months ago. Since then, I've reached out via both phone and email around 15 times. Emailing was mostly useless, and talking on the phone got me nowhere. I was told that the first person allocated to work on my claim no longer works at Insure and Go. A few months went by, and my second claims officer also no longer works at the company. I'm now on my third claims officer.
After spending many hours calling and emailing over the last few months, I finally received word from my latest claims officer. I was told that the outcome of my claim is still not determined and is still being processed. To add insult to injury, I was also notified that I’m not entitled to claim for my mobile phone under the banner of 'personal belongings'. This would mean that the vast majority of my claim will not be paid out, and that the last 4 months of waiting and calling and emailing have been for effectively nothing.
I've looked at the product disclosure statement (PDS) as my claims officer has pointed me to (and as I had done prior to purchasing the insurance) to find only one reference to mobile phones. It's mentioned in relation to being a personal belonging - for which I am supposedly covered. Insure and Go seem adamant that I'm not entitled to claim, which feels pretty humiliating after being strung along the claims process for the last 4 months. If mobile phones aren't covered, then this should be said explicitly in the terms.
This insurance company robbed me of both my time and money.
TLDR; DO NOT purchase insurance with Insure and Go. Took over 4 months to get a reasonable update on my claim, only to be declined anyway!

Do not use this company! I had a legitimate claim regarding a trip that was cut short and they did not honour the agreement citing a fine print technicality to avoid paying. Disgusting. Show details

Easy to negotiate website. Only needed extra medical and could do this within a reasonable cost. Hopefully I won’t have to make a claim, so I don’t know how easy that would be. 2nd time using this company. Show details

Really easy to use website and clearly laid out options with prices instantly adjusting on the same page when adding more cover or adjusting excess rather than waiting till the end. Straight forward process when inputting any required pre-existig medical conditions. Show details

We have used Insure and Go before and had the misfortune to have to make a claim. We filled in the claim online, it was acknowledged within 24 hours and our expenses reimbursed within a week. This process is easy to select what you need so we had no hesitation to take our travel insurance with them again. Cannot recommend them highly enough. It gives you piece of mind and they have your back when you need them. Show details

The online quote for the product we selected, including snow sports cover, was well below several quotes from other popular Insurers that we have used before, with apparently similar cover.
