which resulted in ruptured ACL and mid to severe tear to the MCL. I was unable to walk which resulted in us having to fly home the next day. We missed out on a six day tour which should have included Uluṟu, Kings Canyon and much more. I am just so glad we had travel insurance with InsureandGo, who have been fabulous! If you are planning to travel, I highly recommend this company! We will definitely insure with them again! Great communication and it was relatively easy to claim. Insureandgo is my go to travel insurance company. Policies are always very competitively priced with very good coverage. Domestic Insurance is RUBBISH and not worth the paper is written on, even gold cover. AVOID THIS COMPANY! – Their insurance is rubbish and they don't even follow their own policy wording. Lodged a claim for having to cancel my trip after taking out gold insurance as the airline cancelled our flights to Cairns from Perth due to weather. we headed home. Partner was also feeling unwell. Woke up the next morning feeling more unwell and took a covid test which was positive (took a photo of the RAT test result). As a result we had to cancel the trip, and we spent the day cancelling what we could and obtaining refunds for trips booked. We had about $1000 in hotel costs that were non-refundable so submitted a claim for these. Even though cancellation of the trip for covid was supposedly included in the cover the company conveniently ignored this and denied the claim on the basis that the cancellation by the airline didn't meet the 4 very strict definitions for holiday curtailment. Submitted a review request to the complaints department which has also been ignored, despite their policy saying that complaints would be acknowledged within 1 days and often finalised within 7, it's taken over 10 days for them to even acknowledge receiving it after following up. Will be making a further complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority for their completely rubbish insurance. Update: 2/8/24 Following a very long delay the complaints department finally got back to me and advised that their initial decision was actually incorrect and they should have paid it. They also advised that they never lodged my complaint as required and breached the insurance code of conduct. The claim was eventually paid out and received at the end of July.

Taking out the policy was easy, but providing the medical information proved frustrating. I created a policy with the double standard excess and the medical information caused an additional fee of about $200. I knew that, it was a genuine mistake… The complaints officer listened to what happened and then offered me the option to pay an additional amount for the policy I should have bought and then they honoured my claim!!!
