2020-2025 massive price increases started at $74.95 ended at $95. Internet was mediocre at best - could run phones and tablets but computer dropped in and out and no hope in the wind or rain. Moved house recently and found out they require 30 days notice to disconnect, even though I’m well out of the 24 month contract I originally joined on, when… Read more
I called to cancel. Also took multiple calls and roughly 4 hours on hold in que total to finally get a call back. They say it’s “on their website” that they require 30 days but I was never sent a copy of a contract or any terms and conditions other than an outline of the billing cycle in 2020 when I signed up. Call centre hung up on me when I asked for a copy of their terms and conditions
Don't even bother... Just get Starlink – Really disappointed with IPStar. Initially went with them because there was no setup cost and it was cheaper per month than Starlink, but after nearly a year it just wasn't worth it: - the latency / lag is much higher (1 to 2 second delay on video calls); - download speeds are really slow; - data limits are by time & type, so you quickly reach… Read more
your data limit if you watch a couple of hours of streaming during peak time.
Even worse than that, when I cancelled they still charged me for the full month, and didn't discount the $165 cancellation fee, even though I only had around a month to go on my contract.
Starlnk is more expensive, but it's just so, so, so much better. Save yourself the hassle. Give IPStar a miss.

Poor speed, same as their service – All you can say is, it is rubbish in this day and age. Had quicker much cheaper internet 20 years ago with dial up. You should only be charging a fraction of the price. Show details
Fast & reliable internet speeds/competitive pricing – originally went though another small NBN Co supplier that operated though the Optus network speeds were inconsistent and it had very bad ms response time so i switched to anothe NBN CO supplier which used the vodophone network it was constant but far worse speeds than i switched to my current internet provider which goes though the Telstra… Read more · 1
network & the speeds at a constant 25 mbps to 29 mbps so yeah compared to 4mbps to 11 mbps & 500kbps to 3 mbps its pretty much heaven though i live pretty darn far outta town so my opinions probably worthless.
SKYMUSTER PLUS VIA IPSTAR is very disappointing – Our connection is not holding speed (as you can see speed surges up and down) and latency issues. I have asked via email and phone a number of times to ask to ipstar to escalate with nbn. I did the Skymuster plus trail and it was great. Now I am paying for it, it is useless to us. Ipstar ring me back and say they will fix it but no improvement. I need it for business. Show details

Worse than Centrelink! On hold for 2:52:37 on the phone. About weeks later from signing up & still no internet! – I have called them over and over again and still no internet and still waiting for them to get back to me!! They put you on hold on the phone for at least over 2 hours and I have now clocked it at 2 hours 52 minutes and 36 seconds and then I hung up! I have lost so much time and money because of them as I need wifi in my home as I work from home.… Read more
Their call back system does not call you back until the next business opening day if you are lucky, because I reckon they leave the office early because how can I be on hold for over 2 hours and then it clocks in to their closing time and your still on hold when they are meant to be closed?? ? I don’t think they are really there and pretend they are open to 8:00pm. So too bad when your internet is down in the evening or late afternoon because you ain’t getting through!! I have signed up for NBN I still don’t have nearly 4 weeks later and this is the most shocking experience I have had in the last 25 years and worse they have just sent me the bill to pay for NBN I still don’t have, what the???? They conned me in to signing up and made me believe how great they were and it was all lies! Don’t believe a word they say! I have attached the photo of me on hold with them for 2 hours 52 minutes and 37 seconds and this time on hold, this time around I rang a few internet companies for my home internet and signed up elsewhere! Thanks for nothing IPSTAR! And I AM NOT PAYING THE BILL, you’s did nothing and gave me nothing! I am glad I did not buy your modem and bought my own! The reviews on here may not be legit because if they were such a good company their technical support would not be hours on to be placed on hold to get help. Even sales team have disappeared early too at times because I have rang well a head before closing hours and decided to go through them because I was NOT waiting on hold for over an hour or two with the technical team and yet over two hours later still nothing!! I suggest look at reviews before making decisions with regarding the internet because this has been the worst experience in my life!

The service to a very remote island is second to none and I could not recommend any other service – Service to Norfolk Island has been reasonable, and it is expected to have dropouts from time to time. I have had nothing but extremely quick response and services . https://www.speedtest.net/result/12335411546 Show details
Ipstar to the rescue! – Our farm has terrible telstra mobile wifi. We tried for 10 years with Telstra to get our ADSL portal back after they gave it away. Tried buying technology.... and older Satellite... connection very poor. In the end we tried Ipstar and the difference was incredible. We can watch movies!!!! Not perfect but good... Ipstar Is Alright – Ipstar is pretty good. Sometimes cuts out but other than that it is alright. The service is pretty good when needed. Overall, I am satisfied with the service they provide. Show details · 1

Really bad company – I have just had a bad experience with this company, after over 10 years starting with their bush satellite and eventually changing to NBN fixed line they decided to play silly games with me so I cancelled my account and went elsewhere 2 weeks after cancellation they suspended my account, the one that was already cancelled and then after another 2… Read more
weeks they cancelled my already cancelled account then sent me a letter notifying that they had received my payment after I contacted the TIO. So steer well clear of them.
Do not use this service – We live rurally and for the past 3 months had extremely slow internet and peak data that we were not using at all as we were not home to use. IPstar kept saying your NBN speeds are fine yet I was providing proof that the internet was slow. I had placed two complaints in all to be told the same thing and that our TV was using all the data and… Read more
pretty much we needed a new TV. Ummm OK. In the third month I placed a complaint into the obudsmen, they did not send a tech out to see why the data was peaking when no one was using it and Jonathan a rep went on to threaten to take me to creditors which was unconsciable. Is it fair we pay for a service we cannot use? NO.

Charge me even though I called them twice to disconnect – I decided to go with Starlink as it only cost us $10 a month more with heaps more data and better speed. So I called IPSTAR and ask to cancel my internet. They confirmed the cancellation and I thought great all done. But then I received an email saying my account will be charged. So I called them to confirm the cancellation and they confirmed that… Read more
my account would not be charged and that they have now cancelled it properly. But then the date came and the charged me anyways. What a waste of my time....

Not one bit happy – I am currently needing to rely on my very poor mobile data/reception to do anything online, as the last 3 days straight we've had issue after issue, firstly before midnight it dropped out, had to wait 8 hours to call them at 8 am, had to wait all day for it to be sorted, just to have it drop out again, and once again wait to be able to call, then… Read more
it was working again last night when i got home after calling them once again and waiting all day, to take up to no net, surprise surprise, this is beyond ridiculous, we've had problems since day one, they sent a technician who replaced the nbn box, but obviously there is major issues, other than replacing with second hand goods in which someone from ipstar told me they do. I find it frustrating, irritating, and i am beyond angry, we are paying for a service that is less reliable than anything before. Get it together!!! Now i have to wait until monday before i can YET AGAIN call to report a problem and wait ANOTHER DAY OR MORE for it to be fixed.
Underwhelmed at being charged for internet I couldn't access – Signed up to Ipstar with a property out of reception. Kept trying to access the net but it wouldn't connect. Called over three times to get different advice from very helpful people, but no one's advice worked. Emailed and got no return phone call. Eventually used a friends phone to work through the issue which was thier router, of which I had to… Read more
go out and buy a new one. They credited $10 of the $60, despite no internet actually being able to be used.
Tells lies over the phone and email – Their advertising and descriptions dont make any sense. It states clearly that you can buy additional data blocks then goes on to contradict this in the fair use policy. I called and told them I wanted to cancel without a cancellation fee due to this false advertising and was told the fee would be waivered completely. Imagine my suprise when the… Read more
next day some imbecile named [Name Removed] informed me that the "billing team" had decided to only waiver half the cancellation fee. To further compound my frustration [Name Removed] started having a back and forth arguement over email while claiming that I was "told" that this would be the case. Absolute disgrace honestly.
Avoid Satellite Internet – Connection was ok, very high ping not good for gaming. The connection speed would quite often fluctuate. Drop-outs weren't very common but did happen a few times. The download limits of 300gb per month (or more realistically 150gb on peak and 150gb off peak- so really only 150gb per month) was not enough for regular household usage, particularly… Read more
using streaming services Disney, YouTube, Netflix etc. Every month we used our 300gb (or actually 150gb) allowance within 10 to 14 days of the billing cycle, leaving us with unusable internet. Throttling was not meant to affect our unmetered usage- but it did. In my opinion, for the price, 4G or 5G is a better option in terms of speed and amount of data. And watch out for the 30 day notice when ending your subscription. They don't tell you about it or make it obvious and it practically forces you to pay for another month of poor quality internet. Customer service is professional enough but very slow to respond, sometimes days to reply.
Still waiting – I have been trying to get internet connection for over a month, even though I have the same equipment and plan as the previous person living here.. The advice given is contradictory. Terrible company to deal with...avoid – I cancelled the service with Ipstar only to be billed for a month when the service was cancelled. Contacted them in early June 2020 and was told the billing issue would be fixed because it was an automtically generated bill system. But I was still being billed and contacted them again via email but no reply. 5 months later out of the blue I get a… Read more

Don't sign with this company – Beware! They give you a month free at the start but take it back at the end! Charge for 30 notice even when not on contract and no longer connected stating that they have to pay the nbn for your service which no longer exists. A must need – The network is a must need in a location where phone reception is zero. The NBN satellite allows you to undertake day to day activities which are essential. And helps you keep in touch. Show details · 1
Patchy service that at times does not hold up to working from home needs – If I could score 0 stars I would. Service is patchy and often drops out. Does not hold up to requirements for working from home. Service is terrible with no follow through on actions meaning that you will need to chase them for any resolution to issues. I would not recommend to anyone. Show details

Great Company – I had the connection eventually put into my house. Contracting Company for NBN Co let the process down. Didn't bother to show up on the said date or time. Disappointed with this. All in all the ISP ( IPSTAR ) has kept me informed and helped with the settings of my router. Would recommend Ipstar 5/5 Show details · 2
super service – Im very happy with the product from ip star I haven't had any problems with the service. I spoke to Sandy and was impressed by his explanation and was put at ease as he informed me of the accumulated data I have . Thank you for all the good will you are giving us in these difficult times. Kind Regards Tommy Richmond Show details · 1
Great for 5 days per month. Then the data runs out on my 100 gb plan. Mainly because the 100 gb is 50 "on" & 50 "off" – These plans are misleading and are very expensive when examined. Watched 8 episodes on Netflix and data is gone. Cancelling the service is also prohibitive at $265. If you are providing a service to people who are disadvantaged by distance, please make it affordable. Show details
I would strongly advise not to use this company – If there was a score lower than 1 ipStar would score it. Took 16 weeks to get installed (in the end I had to contact Gavin Williams who heads up rural satellite for NBN Co to get it done.) I was disappointed when I was sold a plan that didn't have enough data for me despite me explaining I steam you tube and netflix and am doing a several internet based courses.
