Really bad company – I have just had a bad experience with this company, after over 10 years starting with their bush satellite and eventually changing to NBN fixed line they decided to play silly games with me so I cancelled my account and went elsewhere 2 weeks after cancellation they suspended my account, the one that was already cancelled and then after another 2… Read more

weeks they cancelled my already cancelled account then sent me a letter notifying that they had received my payment after I contacted the TIO. So steer well clear of them.

Ipstar to the rescue! – Our farm has terrible telstra mobile wifi. We tried for 10 years with Telstra to get our ADSL portal back after they gave it away. Tried buying technology.... and older Satellite... connection very poor. In the end we tried Ipstar and the difference was incredible. We can watch movies!!!! Not perfect but good... Terrible company to deal with...avoid – I cancelled the service with Ipstar only to be billed for a month when the service was cancelled. Contacted them in early June 2020 and was told the billing issue would be fixed because it was an automtically generated bill system. But I was still being billed and contacted them again via email but no reply. 5 months later out of the blue I get a… Read more

another notice to pay. Billing customer service people are terrible to talk to and it seems dont acknowledge emails. They dont understand thier own billing cycles. I wouldnt recommend them they are just too much trouble to deal with.

Worse than Centrelink! On hold for 2:52:37 on the phone. About weeks later from signing up & still no internet! – I have called them over and over again and still no internet and still waiting for them to get back to me!! They put you on hold on the phone for at least over 2 hours and I have now clocked it at 2 hours 52 minutes and 36 seconds and then I hung up! I have lost so much time and money because of them as I need wifi in my home as I work from home.… Read more

Their call back system does not call you back until the next business opening day if you are lucky, because I reckon they leave the office early because how can I be on hold for over 2 hours and then it clocks in to their closing time and your still on hold when they are meant to be closed?? ? I don’t think they are really there and pretend they are open to 8:00pm. So too bad when your internet is down in the evening or late afternoon because you ain’t getting through!! I have signed up for NBN I still don’t have nearly 4 weeks later and this is the most shocking experience I have had in the last 25 years and worse they have just sent me the bill to pay for NBN I still don’t have, what the???? They conned me in to signing up and made me believe how great they were and it was all lies! Don’t believe a word they say! I have attached the photo of me on hold with them for 2 hours 52 minutes and 37 seconds and this time on hold, this time around I rang a few internet companies for my home internet and signed up elsewhere! Thanks for nothing IPSTAR! And I AM NOT PAYING THE BILL, you’s did nothing and gave me nothing! I am glad I did not buy your modem and bought my own! The reviews on here may not be legit because if they were such a good company their technical support would not be hours on to be placed on hold to get help. Even sales team have disappeared early too at times because I have rang well a head before closing hours and decided to go through them because I was NOT waiting on hold for over an hour or two with the technical team and yet over two hours later still nothing!! I suggest look at reviews before making decisions with regarding the internet because this has been the worst experience in my life!

The internet Speed varies, slow/ fast all within a few minutes, data packets getting lost. IT assistance cannot fix – What has happened to ipstar skymuster? Now wildly Flunctating speed, cannot directly connect one page to another within search engine, cannot send emails, timeouts see image. Changed router different service mobile wireless and no problems. NBN needs to fix it. Ipstar have numberous times tired to fix but failed spectacularly. Until 2- 3 mths ago, quite good. Now internet is unworkable. Same with neighbours. Show details

Great Company – I had the connection eventually put into my house. Contracting Company for NBN Co let the process down. Didn't bother to show up on the said date or time. Disappointed with this. All in all the ISP ( IPSTAR ) has kept me informed and helped with the settings of my router. Would recommend Ipstar 5/5 Show details ·  2

Waste of time and money – We joined our new property to Ipstar on fixed line NBN. The connection does not work. The help line does not answer (one hour wait) and if you request for a phone call response, they do not phone you back. You are never in a line. So frustrating. Moving connection to Telstra (God help me) Show details

NBN installation – Initially Ipstar staff were extremely helpful. However, as the time got closer to the NBN installation many things did not happen smoothly. I tried to contact the Ipstar phone line several times (a 1300 number) and waited over 2 hours; no one answered. I left my call back details and Ipstar staff took 2 days before they attempted to contact me… Read more

but I wasn't there so they left a message to call them back on the 1300 number. Eventually I used the online chat and left a message causing someone from Ipstar to finally phone me back about a week later. I thought that they had sorted things out for me, no so.

As we are building a new home many hours drive from where we currently live, difficulties arose between communications with Ipstar. Ipstar would phone our mobile and we don't receive mobile service at our place in Victoria. They finally listened to me and decided to phone the landline number, this meant they left a message and had to wait for me to contact them, again using only the 1300 number. They never once offered a "difficulties" direct line number to manage things more efficiently. Many hours were spent holding on at the end of the phone without any results. However, the sales team were eager to talk to me and when I initially phoned I got straight through to that department!

I was told that Ipstar was having a sales drive into the country areas of Australia and that I had to sign up to a plan before they could notify the NBN company to do the installation on our building site.

A date was set for installation, that being the 23rd October, 2019. This date passed and no NBN installed. I had signed up for a country NBN deal with Ipstar which gave the first month free. On the 14th October 2019 I received an invoice for the first month of usage. This was a week before the due date for installation, plus, it was supposed to be the first month free of charge. Again, I contacted Ipstar by phone and the friendly staff informed me that they would check things out and phone back. They never did. So then I used the online chat and finally got their attention. A supervisor phoned me days later wanting a thorough explanation of the situation.

We finally got the NBN connected and to date I have not received an account. However, the NBN is causing a minor problem; whenever we attempt to connect to the internet it keeps informing us that it is unsecured. We were instructed not to enter a password at set up but to enter it later. Minor problem, we cannot access the area to enter the password. Yet again, another phone call is required and I shall have to start the phone process all over again. Sigh............. These internet service provider companies are only to eager to get people to sign up with them and then they obviously do not care any further about keeping their customers. We found the staff friendly but incompetent.

One positive point is at least when you eventually speak to someone, you are speaking to a person in Australia and not overseas. Mind you, we live in Victoria and when I phoned Ipstar I found myself speaking to staff in Western Australia, some 3 hours time difference behind Victoria!!! I was quite unaware of this situation when attempting to contact them. One suggestion for Ipstar is that they record a message informing customers that they may be speaking or waiting on the phone for someone in Western Australia. Yet again, they don't want to lose a perspective customer I suppose. (Says she with tongue in cheek).

Once I get all the "gremlins" out of the system I expect I won't have any further troubles and won't be hanging on the phone anymore!! Such is life in this modern world, computers, mobiles and the internet service providers. Ahh................... I probably will need a cup of coffee when the bill arrives.

A very frustrated internet user.

Great service – After years of being neglected and ripped off by telstra I just got fed up with all the spin and poor service. Along came ipstar and they couldn't be more helpful.
