Bought this machine to be my new quilting machine and today was the first day to piece together some quilt squares. The machine won't pull fabric through at 1/4 inch without knotting up some thread or just pulling fabric sideways to the left. What's wrong with it? I have sewn for YEARS and have never had this problem with my Singers.

Hi, I found similar problem with mine, if I start sewing right at the beginning of the fabric it knots up or eats my fabric, I have to start a tiny bit in and then back stich. I get better results of I chain piece where possible. I got my machine when I was still learning to quilt a few years ago. Except for this I am still happy with my machine.

Mine has stopped completely. I can't get it to move at all. Every time I try to sew I get a Lot message frustrating. Second time it has happened repair person was no help in giving me idea what might be wrong.

Have you tried ringing Janome,I would just keep at them, and if no result tell them you will contact the ombudsman. How long have you had it.

Thanks everyone. I have had it for two years.

I would contact Janome, as it sounds like a problem with the computer part of it, which I am not familiar with.

We have had and currently have 7 Janome machines, my husband and i are both quilters. We currently use the 3160 QDC the most as it is so handy to carry to classes etc. but we have had no problems with the Janomes, Our granddaughters also use our former machines when we upgrade. I would suggest you take the machine to a different dealer or repair person. One who sews also, not just cleans and repairs. We find them a great machine. I myself also have a Baby Lock Journey Embroidery machine and a Bernina 430- and we have 3 Singer Featherweights that we use. Odegaards in Flagstaff AZ keeps them running for us.
