Why the machine going backwards, how to fix this problem

Janome
Janome   DM

There is nothing you can do to correct this issue. Your machine requires a service mechanic to fix it. Take the machine to a Janome dealer for a quote to repair/service. Thank you Shu.

I have a Janome Decore Excel II 5024 Sewing machine and my presser foot keeps coming off. What is the problem and how can I fix this thank you. Sophia

Sounds like it isn’t clipping in properly. It should make a slight snapping sound when it clipped in. Check whether it’s the foot or the connection that is faulty. I cannot imagine it’s that. My daughter and Grandaughter as well as me have this machine and have not had this problem. My sewing machine mechanic makes sure everything is good. You may need to have it serviced.

Thank you for your reply. I did get my sewing machine serviced last year. I will check and let you know. Somebody told me that the claw needs to be adjusted. What does the claw look like and were is the claw on my sewing machine please help thank you.

Janome Decor Excel II 5024 does not sew buttonholes well. There is no gap to allow me to open the buttonhole without cutting the stitches. I’ve tried many set up options but nothing adjusts the lack of gap! Help please Caroline

Could be a fault or could be simply zig zag width. A service would be appropriate. I never miss a service once a year. Without using your machine I cannot say what’s causing the problem. Try different sample materials to see if it makes a difference. Too thin can cause this problem as it grabs so needs interfacing.

This machine will only do straight line stitches. Bought from new in 2004 and used a handful of times. First time trying zig zag, but it will only go straight, only the first stitch zigs, then straight. Please help

The timing needs adjusting. It basically means the stitches aren't being picked up in the bobbin area to meet the top meedle in the lefy or right position You can get it serviced and they will fix it. Or you can do it yourself (its really easy) by watching 'Christine Home Affairs on YouTube. But it is easier if you go to YouTube and type in 'DIY fix timing issues on your sewing machine'. Only takes 10 minutes. Christine is Australian and amazing. The Janome is a different model but it will work on yours as it did mine. Saved me $130. YouTube is fabulous. I fixed the reverse that stopped working too

Your machine requires some TLC. Take the machine to your local Janome dealer store for a service.

Does my Janome Decore Excel 11 5024 Sewing Machine have a hump jumper to use for sewing thick Jeans.

paulineG
paulineG

No there is no hump jumper. I have sew jeans using jeans needles but had to manage without the hump jumper. I will ask my mechanic if there is one you can buy

Marina O.

I sewn leather, duvets, blankets, thick wool knits and coats on this. Use original needles (ballpoint, jeans, leather, blue tip titanium coated) and clean the bobbin area regularly. This sews everything

There is something wrong with the reverse mode in my machine. If I want to sew forwards I have to hold the reverse bar down and to reverse I let go. So it is sewing "back to front" if that makes sense. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. Anne.

I have a Janome Decor Excel II 5024 sewing machine. I wish to buy a straight stitch foot. When searching online there are a few stores that sell them but they sell feet for machines with 5mm, 7mm, 9mm shank or 1600P. Which of these would fit my sewing machine?

Hi I have had this problem too which is apparently common in Jenome. My sewing machine mechanic took the plastic plate off that is on the bottom left hand side which has two phillips screws holding it on. He then sprayed WD 40 with the nozzle into the bottom right hand side where you can just see a metal rod and also this rod shows up a bit further to the left. Also he sprayed up at the top right hand side. This will make the reverse work again. It needs to be done frequently apparently especially if it isn't being used too often.

Thank you dear. I should try it out myself, since Melbourne is lock down I can't take to anyone.
