Hello Jo Ann, Recommend you use Janome needles and Janome plastic bobbins. If you are already using the correct needles and bobbins, then recommend you take your machine to an authorised Janome Retailer, it may require the timing to be reset which is part of a service. Here is a link to Janome Retailer external link  Thank you - Janome Australia

As it's computerised they seem to do that. I've had 2 machines, one Elna, one Bernina cost many thousands of dollars and just stopped. I can't get anyone to even look at the Bernina. I live in Melbourne. The old mechanical machines seem to sew and sew and you can get them serviced and repaired.

If you still require someone to service your Bernina my sewing machine mechanic does. His name is Wayne and he works from home in Epping. His number is 0410 562 760.

My MC3500 is bunching the fabric when I'm using zig zag stich. It creates little ridge lines under the stitches as the stitches pull the fabric. I've played with the tension & altered the length & width but it doesn't sit flat. Any ideas?

Elizabeth

Have you tried the tension on the bobbin?

Yes, first thing I did. Any other suggestions?

Hello yes I have in the past, no special instructions, simple swap of single to double needle, ran the thread from bobbin winder as second thread.

Trish
Trish

Thanks for responding, I tried it yesterday and one of the needles snapped. I left it on straight stitch and regular length stitch. Should I have done anything different different?

What price for one 6 years old with hardly any use?

Grace J

I paid $200 for mine 2nd hand with the walking foot included. It hasn't missed a beat and was definitely worth every cent. Mine also had little use. I bought it from a non-sewer who had every intension of learning but never did. My gain. :)
