How do you change needle position on the Janome 6500? I need to move it to the right.

I have misplaced my Manuel (have moved twice) and I can not remember if this machine has self threading. Also where can I find a new Manuel please

Janome has owner manuals on their site, not sure if Manuel is there too! (sorry, couldn't avoid that) ;-))

You would need to ask the store where you buy your new Janome.

You can try this test, but be aware that I am not a Janome technician and you do so at your own risk. However I know someone who performed the test and it worked perfectly, not saying this will/won't happen in your case but if it was my machine I would give it a try. YMMV and that's Ok too!

While this has been a fantastic model it is getting quite old now, and depending on usage, electronics may/may not start to give up the ghost....hopefully, I'm wrong about though! ****************************************************************************** Janome model: MC6500 Elna model: 7200 Singer model: Studio I S18

To Diagnose if the Fuse has Blown

Perform the following step for the following errors: “BM INIT”, “FM INIT”, and “FM INIT” before doing anything else.

Put the needle in the highest position and then turn the machine on. If you get “E1”, turn the machine off, put the needle in the lowest position, and then turn it back on. If you get “E2”, the customer jammed the machine and it blew the 3.15A, 250V, white thermo fuse (#000182904) on the back of the 'A' board. “E3” and “E5” can also mean the fuse has blown.

BM INIT: Zigzag Motor. A. Check the connections. B. With the machine off, push the needle bar to the left & right several times. You should just feel the friction of the step motor. C. Check for thread caught in the gears and clean zigzag motor sensor. D. Replace the zigzag motor if necessary.

Without knowing your needle/thread/fabric/stabiliser types, have you adjusted the balance knob? Are the feed dogs in the 'up' position? ;-)
