I purchased a pair of shoes for work I had a staff member fit them she told me how comfortable they were so I paid the $249 . The first day I wore them to work I was almost crippled by them I have blisters up and down both feet and all over my toes I would never recommend buying shoes from there they are absolutely terrible. Disappointed. Will never buy shoes from this brand again. Bought sandals labelled /advertised as Italian leather last season. I even checked with the salesperson that it was in fact genuine leather. She confirmed genuine, Italian leather. After wearing for a season there's no way these are Italian or any kind of leather unless that's coded language for plastic. Never again. Tired of being duped. Bad design shoes, reached out to customer support and they were so help. Really disappointed won’t bother them them again Show details
Extremely disappointed and appalled by Jo Mercer’s quality of boots and customer service. I purchased a $300 pair of black leather heeled boots, expecting a high-quality, durable product. I wore them once — to my workplace in a clean, indoor setting — and at the end of the day the leather had already scratched and peeled. I was shocked that boots… Read more
at this price point could deteriorate after a single, very normal wear.
When I raised this with customer service, I was told it was "external impact" and therefore not their responsibility — completely dismissing the context in which they were worn. Even worse, after I followed up three more times to ask for reconsideration or even a conversation about exchanging for a more durable pair, I was completely ignored. No reply. No resolution. No professionalism.
Jo Mercer has lost my trust. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and never had issues before, but this experience has been genuinely appalling and greatly disappointing. Poor product quality and even poorer accountability. I expect so much better from an Australian brand at this price point.
Save your money and shop somewhere that actually stands behind their products and their customers.
Broken shoes within 3 months! – I purchased a pair of over $200 shoes in October and contacted the customer service team in January to let them know the heel was coming off the bottom. They told me to take it to a store to have repaired but they only have stores in Chatswood, QVB and Bondi Junction which are over an hour away for me so I had to pay $40 at my local shoe repairer… Read more
which probably saved me in time and money for petrol! Awful experience and don't think I'll ever shop there again. I'm assuming they aren't doing very well considering all their stores are closing!
Save your money and go elsewhere - Very Poor Materials – As a conscientious buyer, I put my trust and hard earned money toward a pair of sandals (ID: 145391 Kenzie Mid Heel Wedges - White Natural), for which I got a second pair (ID: 127474 Kenzie Mid Heel Wedges - Black) for half price, only to be completely let down by the product after wearing both pairs occasionally for some time. While the upper… Read more
portion of each shoe is still in good condition, each shoe broke in the same exact location across the sole. My dissatisfaction lays in the fact that I could not even repair the shoes because the problem was an intrinsic fault with the sole design according to my cobbler. I made an investment in these shoes as I cannot afford to buy and throw away shoes every other day, but I was completely let down and my expectations were not met. Don't be fooled by the look of these shoes, they are not made of quality materials, in my experience. After reaching customer service, they did not follow up on my e-mail correspondence; it was a waste of my time. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere!!
Appaling quality – Appalling quality and non-existent after sales service. Purchased a pair of sandals for $240. The sole began to peel after a few wears but I thought they wouldn't get worse. After six months of wearing them once or twice a week, they look so tatty. When I took them in, the manager said that this was "wear and tear" and probably due to me driving with them on. Absolutely appalling quality for the hefty price tag.

Thank you for your kind response I went into Jo mercer yesterday and bought a pair of beautiful boots and while is was looking for these boots this very pretty and beautiful young lady in the most prettiest grey or blue dress said hi do you need any help I said yes and she gave me a great tour and description of about 4 or 5 pairs of ankle boots… Read more

Very happy with my purchase – I researched my Klume wedges online before going instore to buy, and the service I received was really helpful. I have a chunky wide foot and always have to wear my shoes in but I was able to wear these for a whole day right from the first wear and they were super comfy, and my sausage toes didn’t feel squished at all! So far I’m really happy with… Read more
the quality, and I waited until they were on sale so I was happy with the price too. These are going to be my go to wedges for this summer, so happy I found them.
High quality shoes which are comfy, chic and stylish – One of the rare shoe makers that both style and quality are awsome. I love to wear nice shoes without feeling them all the day. So, if you're looking for unique design and good quality shoes I highly recommend them. Show details

Pathetic customer service. I wore a pair of shoes once and they started to wear instantly, I was told this was normal wear and tear. After speaking to others, they also have had problems with this issue. Do yourself a favour and don't buy from them.
Customer service and Product Quality at its worst – The quality of the shoes have gone down terribly. The stores staff ask you to go get it fixed before even using it, so why do we pay such crazy prices for shoes that are not yet wearable and spend more. The customer service oh my, there’s nothing there, they just don’t care. No one responds even the head, so that’s what I guess flows, the role… Read more
modelled behaviour. The store person told me to stop shopping there, well best advice ever so no more Jo Mercer for sure. Wonder if it got worse after the Ann dropped off.
Terrible customer service and product & rate it terrible – I purchased a gold sandal at the time of purchase they never told anything about the care of the leather and wore it few time within six months it’s discoloured and when I when to the fountain gate store they refused to come with a solution as the manager wasn’t there I went two time and then left my contact details until I call they they never contacted me poor service would rate 0 for the service at fountain gate store and the product I got

What an amazing customer retail experience I had in Booragoon Store on Thursday with the two team members Lexie and Teo. They went out of there way to make sure my shoe selection was suitable for my requirements. I have wider feet and required soft leather comfortable shoes as I am standing on my feet most of the day. It was great to see staff… Read more

Bad service and product – Reallt bad customer service and shoe quality. I purchased $219 shoes ...3 months later all the coating on the outside of the bottom edging of the shoes is peeling off......not just in 1 spot, the entire edge. Sent photos to jo mercer...took 2 days to respond and all I got was a generic response saying that it's "wear and tear" and they wont do… Read more
anything about it. I just don't think shoes this expensive should start looking worn down in just under 3 months. I only wear them once or twice a week. The coating is peeling off on every part of the shoe. I'm disappointment that I've been a long time jo mercer customer and they treat your like dirt. Even store service at my local is bad...most of the time the ladies completely ignore the customers.
Less the 48hrs and the shoes were coming apart – I bought a pair of $220 loafers thursday morning. I wore them Saturday morning for two hours while seated and the insole is already coming away under my feet. I splurged for a new job on Monday and they aren’t wearable, or refundable. Apparently this isn’t a quality issue eligible for a refund as it’s fixable. If this is the result of two… Read more
hours wear, what would happen after a full day. I have never experienced this and it’s so disheartening that an Australian company is behaving this way. Customer service is abysmal, don’t risk it for the price point.

Badly made for the price, zero customer care – One star is for the comfort. These shoes are badly made and only last a year. The customer service is appalling. I have two pairs bought from the shoe and the strap on the buckle is disintegrating, I cannot wear anymore due to them slipping off of my ankle. I also ordered a pair online, apon receiving the had been clearly worn and had stains on… Read more
the shoes. When I emailed the customer care team the didn't care.
I will never buy from this company again.
Extremely uncomfortable shoes – Shoes look good but they are extremely uncomfortable. I've got flats from all sorts of brands and have a very regular foot. These shoes give you so many blisters no matter how much you've worn them in. Don't waste your money on these. Not worth it. Spend your money on bared or any other brand

Do not buy. Blatant disregard for customer satisfaction (and shoe quality is heinous) – $220.00 Ainsley dress flats - Ice Blue. Regrettably, after wearing the shoes on one occasion (a polo event. on grass.) I noticed a significant chip at the point of the shoe, leather had flaked off and significant damage to the sole. Store excuse for not replacing, offering to repair or refund was 'wear & tear' along with 'staff members had the… Read more
same shoes and had not experienced the same issues' The shoe was clearly faulty as it was worn only once. Terrible quality. (not to mention the blisters I earnt) Shoes should not 'wear & tear' that much after one outing. Customer service was heinous to deal with. When I reached out to address these issues, I was met with indifference and a refusal to take responsibility for their shoddy shoes. - I had to follow up regularly, any timeline provided by Jo Mercer for contact or a follow up was not honored.
Save your money!! - and avoid the disappointment and heartache of dealing with Jo Mercer. Their lack of quality control and disregard for customer satisfaction is beyond comprehension.
As per consumer law, consumers are entitled to a product/service that is safe and without fault, that looks acceptable and performs as expected. If the product/service does not, consumers have a right to a repair, replacement or refund. - How can they get away with not providing a remedy to clients????
***** Go spend $25.00 on Target flats. you can hike, party, rock climb and look fabulous in those bad boys and they will last years!!!! *****
Sandal Snapped on the First Hour of Use – The Saige sandal snapped on its first hour of being used. It was a real distressing moment and never expected it would happen to this shop's products. I loved its look but poor quality. Such a shame as these were my very first Jo Mercer items and travelled to Melbourne just to personally buy them. Email call support is fantastic but getting a refund is not easy as the line's always busy and has never received a call back. Show details
Wisdom Flat - Fell apart after 2 wears – Had the shoe less than a week and wore them on two occasions. On second occasion upper started to come away from sole at the toe of both shoes. Took them back and was offered a repair. This was unacceptable to me. Customer service was appalling. A refund should have been automatic. They were not worn in humidity (melbourne based) nor in the wet.… Read more
Will never by Jo mercer again and will be telling everyone I know to stay away. It's a shame as they are a comfy shoe but now I don't even want to wear them again.
Faulty Sandal – Purchased sandals for Store with friendly and helpful staff. Came home and after two hours the string around the sole of my sandal is coming away from the sole. I was advised that the sandal isn’t faulty because it’s the join! So a $229 pair of sandals worn for two hours and they are basically just going to continue to fall apart.. Devastated. Show details

Style - good. Quality of Shoes - poor and Customer Service - appalling and dismissive – Initially satisfied - liked the shoes and were comfortable to wear. clear that there is no wear and tear anywhere else on the shoe. Told to take to a cobbler. This is extremely poor. I would expect shoes at this price point to last longer than a few wears.
Zero customer service – It’s very disappointing, I never had that bad experiences with customers service before, they never help , I purchased for the boot which is faulty and they didn’t accept refund Show details
Bad quality and bad customer service – The quality of these shoes are terrible and so is the customer service. I would highly recommend investing in a different brand if you are wanting to spend $200+ on a pair of shoes. The extremely poor quality does not match the price tag. Oh and don’t except any support from customer service if your shoes fall apart after 3 wears. Just rudeness and sarcasm. Show details
Cheaply made & terrible customer service – I am stunned by the quality of the shoes at Jo Mercer for the price that you pay. I bought two pairs of shoes last July. I went away in early December for 4 months where I did not take the shoes with me. at the other pair (Cardi flat wedges) there was a crack going through the wedge to the sole. I can see from other reviews that I am not alone in this situation. These shoes cost $150 & $160 each & did not even last 5 months!! I for sure thought they would replace the Wisdom shoes as I could genuinely not wear them anymore but instead they said it was from 'wear & tear' and it was my fault. The only option was to get them repaired. I was disgusted by the blame they put on me. I would have had to have worn these shoes every day non stop, to the gym & back, for it to be 'wear & tear' over 5 months. I have shoes that cost $20 that lasted longer than these. I will NEVER purchase another Jo Mercer product again & I suggest anyone looking at buying Jo Mercer products to go somewhere else where the quality is reflected in the price, & where they take care of their customers, rather than blame them for their poor, cheaply made shoes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I Would give zero stars if I could.
Jo Mercer- are Dog and cats tortured and skinned for your leather shoes in China ?? – Jo Mercer, I’m asking here to get the truth. Do you source leather from China and India who skin cats and dogs for their skins to use making your shoes?

Jo Mercer Wedges - STEER CLEAR – Purchased two pairs of the Cardi wedges 6 weeks ago - tan and black. I have worn the tan ones 2-3 times a week in that time and the sole has snapped! with the wedge sandals, which the manager of the store also said. The manager then; however, suggested it only happened because I had bent them in half and told me I shouldn't be doing it. (Note: I'm not in the habit of bending new shoes in half till they snap!) Was able to get a refund but won't be buying again.
Unprofessional and untrained – Staff are rude and untrained, you get mixed info from a store to store. They tell you to buy with hassle free returns or exchange, but when you want to exchange they say promo has changed and this is our policy. The shoes are good but so overpriced, and the staff are constantly not bothered. No customer service at all. Show details

3rd pair of shoes where the sole has snapped – Do not buy shoes from this store. I had a pair of heels years ago and the sole of the shoe snapped in half. Vowed to never buy again. Stylish, comfortable shoes and excellent customer service – Joanne Mercer is my ‘go to’ store for stylish and comfortable shoes. I have bought flats, heels and ankle boots from them. My most recent pair is the Karina mid heel in black suede, which I bought last week for a black tie event and was able to stand and dance comfortably all night.
