Do anyonye have a manual or instruction doc to share for this coffee machine? We have been given a used machine, but without doc. Seem to work fine, but assume we should do some maintenance/cleaning regularly etc.

I've had my kogan espresso machine since Feb it's worked well until last week. I turn it on the power and grinder button light up briefly then go off the other lights over cup water and steam flash continually. I can still grind coffee and the machine seems to be warming up and if I hold down cup button it will produce coffee but it's all manually done. The coffee is hot but not steaming I have done what instructions have said but there's not troubleshooting answer to this specific problem I have descaled as per instructions still nothing. Now Kogan want me to box this up and send it back to them before I can either get replacement or refund.

I'd be boxing it up and get a refund. Kogan is not like it was years ago, with previous owner.

I have a Kogan espresso machine and it does not suck the water. Machine turns on and gets hot and make a noise when pump button is pressed but I can see the water level in the jug remains the same. First use they say run water through but not having any luck.

Actually left it for a while then turned it on and it worked. Makes a very nice coffee too. Can't say I did anything in particular.

My Kogan coffee Machine screen does not respond as it should for instance if I want to choose 1 cup it makes 2 cups or if I want to use the steam it starts to do something else like hot water or make coffee with powde etc. Is there a fix for this?r

No fix, time to look for another coffee machine :-)

We got this machine over a month ago and am not sure if we are doing something wrong. Most of the time the coffee is just not hot enough. Are we missing something or is it not working? I have gone back through the instructions and tried again and again and we are just not happy with the temp, it is not even warm sometimes. Please help us!

Hi, I have found if you warm the cups before you make the coffee it is fine, unfortunately like most of these automatic machines you can not alter the temperature. If you turn the machine on 10min before you use it that helps too. We bought our machine second hand and we are very happy with it makes an excellent coffee every time especially now we are using Coffex mokka beans. Hope this helps, but if not talk to the Kogan tech team, they are very helpful and will advise if your machine needs warranty assistance. Cheers, Rusty.

Hi, First of all, are you leaving enough time for the machine to warm up? i.e. after the light stops flashing.I found my one occasionally "overshoots" - the two red lights start flashing together, as when you've just finished using the steam injector to froth milk for cappuccino. In this case I either leave it to cool down again or release some steam from the injector (to cool it down more quickly).

If I add milk then I have to warm the milk first, because the coffee doesn't come out hot enough on its own. I either use the steam injector (if I'm making a cappuccino), or I give the milk about 30 seconds in the microwave.

Another, unrelated, problem I've been getting recently is that the machine has been jamming. It grinds the coffee, tries to compress it into the "espresso chamber" and then stops with a groaning noise. It seems to be trying to grind too much coffee at once. I solved this by setting the "coffee quantity" knob to about half-way - that's the small knob in the beans hopper.

I find coffee is not hot enough

it doesnt dissolve sugar or sweeteners so have to microwave cup

Is this normal or is there ajustments i can make?

My unit provides the coffee at the right temp, I suggest you contact Kogan support as I am unaware of any available adjustment

So far the coffee from this machine is weak and yuck. Overdrawn and bitter. What us the best setting from all of you that say it's so good please?

i have my grinder on setting 3 and the fineness on the second largest dot. the dregs come out in a dry cake. The coffee i am using is vittorio medium arabica, lovely. Hope this helps.

I have found that for my liking the best settings are; powder fineness-2, powder volume-90%, dregs the same as Rusty, I have used a variety of supermarket beans but when I have time I intend to get fresh ones from one of the local suppliers, such as Coffee Mio, where I have purchased fresh roasted beans from years ago when operating a milk bar/deli

Hi, my machine has been working perfectly but all of a sudden a red light has come on (not blinking) and it wont make coffee, seems to grind and tamp ok but nothing else. Have cleaned coffee bin and screens and run some steam off but still no go. Any ideas??

Rocknrohl

Hi, the only time I have had the red light come on is when I didn't refit the dreg dump container properly.

If that is not the problem I suggest that you contact Kogan support, they are very quick and good with help response.

Do you have to use beans only or can you use already ground coffee?

Rocknrohl
Rocknrohl

It would be no point in using ground coffee as the first stage of operation is to grind beans to the desired fine/coarse grade and as far as I can see with an automatic machine this step cannot be bypassed.

As a black only drinker I do not use the frother, but I would expect that due to the higher temperature needed for frothing it would take some time to cool down to the best temp for the next coffee

Do you get a crema on top of espresso?

Rocknrohl
Rocknrohl

sorry, but at this stage I am only enjoying my fresh short blacks which is my preference, as yet I have not had any guests to try the steamer for regular creama, but on a brief test run it appears to work well.

Rocknrohl
Rocknrohl

Didn't check up on definition of creama until now, thought you meant froth cream, yes it does give a good 5% foam on top of espresso

Nick
Nick

Yes it does, but I have noticed that like all coffee makers, fresh beans recently roasted will give better crema.

Mingaman1

Yes I do get Crema. I find the quality of the beans affects crema as well.
