Trustworthy and Reliable
It’s a long journey but at the end of the day, it’s an exceptional build completed on time. Even my private building inspector is impressed with the construction and overall workmanship, especially during these days where shoddy work and cutting corners are commonplace.
We signed a fixed price contract during Covid before the prices of materials and trades skyrocketed. Masterton approached us to see if we could help. We were glad they didn’t force it on us but we decided to give a nominal sum to help with the unprecedented cost increase.

All the Pre-Construction checks with Carol
I was planning to do a knock down and rebuild duplex of my old house at the beginning of 2023. Once I started the planning process, I found that there are a lot of limitations on the site such as:
-Land Size and dimensions seems too small
-The site is under flood zone
-A 1200mm diameter pipe traversing the site
And all the limitations made the rebuild plan seem impossible.
I am so grateful that Ms. Carol Charlesworth helped me to deal with all the problems and solved them one by one since May 2023. She has been diligent in doing the necessary checks in the last six months before asking me for the deposit.
Also, I would like to thank Mr. Micheal Vitale who has done a great job on the layout under the site allowing for the restrictions.
Getting into our new home.
Our journey started out in March of 2022 looking for our new home and made the decision to go with Masterton due to many factors and one of them being a floor plan we liked with a minor addition of extending the width of the garage.
During the process from July 2022, we were working with Alicia on some of the building options and I must state also that her efforts made this project to be as efficient as possible.

We are at pre-construction post tender deposit stage. We have been dealing with Rakesh Broota (New Homes Consultant at Marsden Park Display). Rakesh has been very prompt with responding to our queries and worked with us on a number of challenges for the build for that I commend him. Rakesh has also been helpful with navigating the mediocre processes Masterton have.
The tender stage with Masterton is mediocre after the main tender there are multiple tender variations which come back with missing or inaccurate or conflicting details the first te... Read morender variation took more than 2 weeks to come back and was not accurate. Masterton also do not provide any updated drawings of the build to reflect the updated tender which then makes working out what is in the tender and multiple variation documents a nightmare to work out. Masteron's (and other builders) also have a very inefficient process to pick external colours and materials. they want 'colour consultation' to be done before BASIX can be applied for however, the color consultant wants you to pick all of the colours before this appointment. There is no consultation and the only assistance we have received is what Rakesh has provided us. The service personnel at the PGH and Austral can only give very general information and all aspects of what bricks, facade changes etc have to be done via a tender variation with Masterton. because pricing is not known to the consultants it becomes difficult to determine what is and isn't in the budget in terms of facade upgrades. We chose Masterton because of it being a big builder in the industry and because of Rakesh's willingness and commitment to customers. Commendment to Rakesh that he shows dedication and commitment to his customers. For Masterton there is immense opportunity to make the building and in particular the tender process far more easier and efficient for the customer and in turn less costly for Masterton and end consumer. Cost of tender is on par with other builders.

Excellent Sale Consultant
My wife and I had the pleasure of having Rakesh Broota as our new home consultant.
We plan to knockdown and rebuild our current home in Baulkham Hills, we spend a lot of time to compare builders and we found Mastereon home is most transparency in Option Upgrade price and it has most standard inclusion. (Ultimate Inclusion).
Rakesh is very helpful and professional. We have a lot of concerns and question, Rakesh always address promptly and professionally and give us a lot of profession advice. He can give us estimated price when I want some option extra. (the price is close to the actual price in tender. ) We now have everything we wanted in new home and within our budget.
Build complete and have just moved in to our new home. Exceptional service provided by Korina Prior (construction team) and Wesley Young (site supervisor).
All enquiries or issues were handled promptly and professionally along the way.

Wes Young was a delight to deal with, his attention to detail and fussiness of the finished product was highly valued. He was always helpful and polite. Prior to Wes our supervisor was Andrew Meadowcroft also a delight to deal with.
Korina Prior was also lovely to deal with, she expedited all our enquiries promptly and efficiently.
The quality of the build seems to be excellent, but as we are yet to move in we haven't spent enough time there yet. Prior to Korina we had Sarah Rawiller and Angela Underwood who were also excellent to deal with.
Cost was fixed, we knew the variations so cost came out as expected.

Ramsey joined our project in late August, and has really turned things around. Our job had been seriously delayed and off track. We had experienced significant delays through pre-construction and the first half of our build. Ramsey and Angela have worked tirelessly, and with great rapport, to overcome the delays. More has been achieved in the past 2 months than the previous 9 months, and we are on target to move in soon. The quality of Ramsey's work, and his availability and responsiveness to clients is second to none. New home is perfect for our family
Our new home was completed in October 2023. The construction and supervision team did a fantastic job meeting our needs and expediting the last stage to help us get in to the home within our required time frame. Special mention to RS, the supervisor and JI from the construction team. RS was in regular communication, always did what he said he would do and was able to rectify any issues or concerns we had along the way. Run, don't walk
Your sales consultant will tell you that your build is very important for Masterton, when you question all the missing details and duplicated charges they'll tell you 'no one has ever asked that question before'. Your sales consultant will lie profusely.
Also lies are the constant stream of fake reviews posted on product review since around 2018 when Mastertons service started going downhill but productreview star ratings shot upwards. You can tell the fake ones easily, they follow a template along the lines of 'Masterton's service was as proi... Read moremised, and our Sales Consultant [insert name here] was exceptional' (they are provided a list of staff member names to publish fake reviews under). These are the questions you need to ask if it's not too late - ask for a copy of the contract including special conditions - ask what stops Masterton putting the job on pause during the validation period and then arbitrarily repricing it? hint: your sales consultant will spin the standard line that they will never do that 'to protect their reputation', but this is exactly what they do. - what will be the ratio of builds to supervisers. Ours has 25 custom jobs on the go and spares no attention to each job The quality of our job is crap and the trades say it has to be like that because they are the lowest paying of all builders, they can't spend any time to do jobs properly.
Questions & Answers
I posted 8 months ago (2017504) while still in pre-construction with the hope that things would improve and have remained silent since in the hope of just getting Masterton out of my life - but the hits keep coming.
I write seeking clarity and transparency on Masterton’s declaration to supply a “Luxury Upgrade package” comprised of a particular toilet suite, then downgrading same, due to supply issues, without providing a cost reduction for the lower cost goods.
In internet searches I found the nominated “Luxury” toilet suite for an online cost of between $431-$539. While the alternative Nardini Harmony suite being offered was found at an online cost of $269.
Considering there are 3 toilet suites involved, the difference soon adds up.
Now, the above referenced prices do not consider Masterton’s buying power either in Builders discounts, volume purchases, subcontractor deals, a combination of any or the lot – so the possibility of even wider discrepancy in costings is likely.
When I requested an alternative suite that was more in line with the original “Luxury “design concept, but a higher cost - the difference for which I was prepared to pay based on the online pricing obtained – I was told it was not possible.
So much for Customer satisfaction! It is my contention that I am not getting what I paid have paid for and again request a cost reduction based on Masterton’s inability to provide a range consistent with their stated marketing material.
We did not have a problem with Masterton inclusions. We upgraded, for example, the kitchen bench top and island and we paid the difference. We upgraded the toilet seats and we paid the difference. Everything that was included in the contract was included in the home they built. If something that was included in the contract and they failed to include in the home. We kept an eye on progress construction and advised them. They would ensure that it is done according to contract.

We own a home built by masterton in 1989 in port Macquarie. Would masterton possibly still have a copy of the original house plans on file by any chance? We are hoping to obtain a copy of the home plans?
How long is the waterproofing warranty? Our home is only 14 yrsold approx & the shower floor is leaking thank you
