Nathan, was exceptional throughout the entire build. He was always easy to communicate with, provided consistent fortnightly updates, and demonstrated a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Nathan was proactive in identifying and addressing any issues early and was quick to resolve them to a high standard. Our Construction Customer Service Coordinator, Brooke, also kept us informed of any delays, responded promptly to our questions, and was very helpful throughout the process. We only experienced a few minor issues, all of which were resolved efficiently. One point future customers should be aware of is that if you upgrade to a square set ceiling, the ceiling height may be reduced more than expected. We were anticipating 2.7m ceilings downstairs but ended up with approximately 2.6m. We are happy with the selections we made and don’t regret any of our upgrades. However, we chose not to upgrade the bathroom tiles and instead selected the same colour tile in different sizes for the floor and walls, which resulted in a noticeable colour variation. The standard tile selection is quite limited—something many reviews mention—and in hindsight, we should have upgraded. There was also no solar consultation offered during our colour selection appointment. Given the BASIX requirements, having a combined BASIX and solar consultation at that stage would have been very helpful. Hopefully, this is something that has since been improved for future clients.

We built with Masterton Homes using the Villina Twin design and overall had a really good experience. During the design phase, they were easy to deal with and happy to accommodate changes to the plans, which made it easy to get the layout the way we wanted. We found Masterton very detailed in the pre-construction phase, although sometimes a bit frustrating, it proved to be well worth the effort as the construction held no surprises and we were all on the same page, resulting in only one variation - a relocation of a window initiated by us. The construction process was always going to be a challenge for our site, but between Shaylee our construction co-ordinator, and Angelo our site Manager, everything was meticulously planned and executed. Angelo communicated well and never called with an issue he didn’t have proposed solutions for, his bias for quality was also very confidence inspiring . All the staff and suppliers we dealt with throughout the process were pleasant, knowledgeable and positively focused on a successful quality outcome. We remained on budget for the build, again I put that down to the pre-construction detail. Looking forward to moving in to our beautiful forever home.

site and achieve a quality build completed ahead of schedule. I am very satisfied and happy with the final result of my new home. After Pre-construction Stage, my build entered into Construction Stage and building works commenced on 31/10/2024. My build was a 2-storey house in Hills District with a guest bedroom and a powder room on the ground floor and 4 bedrooms all with ensuites on the first floor. With a contract construction period of 290 working days, the contract completion date was estimated to be on 30/12/2025 (excluding extension of time due to adverse weather, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays). Janie and Justin provided very effective construction management and supervision in the whole construction process. As a result, the build took about 259 working days to complete and the Final Inspection was carried out on 13/11/2025, which is approximately 83% of the contract construction period. The build quality was very good and the keys of the house were handed over to me on 24/11/2025. Janie is a very effective co-ordinator and construction team leader. She managed the whole construction process very well. Janie kept a very good record of building variations agreed during construction, based on which the contract sum was finalized accurately. She also advised me timely on any extension of time due to adverse weather. Upon completion of the building works, she made a submission of Occupation Certificate Pack to the Certifier and arranged the Certifier’s site inspection very effectively. With her very good effort, the Certifier’s Final Result was obtained without any issue related to the building works. Justin is a very experienced, responsive and reasonable Site Supervisor. He coordinated building works of different trades very effectively. He updated me weekly on the progress of the building works. These weekly updates were very useful for me to keep track of the construction activities on site and monitor the overall construction progress. Justin responded to my requests and queries positively and promptly. During the construction period, I requested 3 site walkthroughs at different construction milestone stages. Justin had no hesitation to arrange the site walkthroughs with me, answered my queries on the construction matters and explained to me in detail the works planned ahead. Upon completion of the build, he managed the Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) very well. All minor non-compliance or outstanding works identified by my Independent Building Inspector were rectified and completed very effectively. I signed off the PCI comfortably and Final Inspection was conducted in about 3 weeks’ time. The house was presented in a very clean and nice conditions at the Final Inspection. The handover was very pleasant and smooth. All in all, I had a very good experience in building with Masterton. I am very lucky to have Janie and Justin to look after the whole construction process of my new home. They are certainly excellent Coordinator and Site Supervisor to work with, and I appreciate very much for their help and assistance in the build. Thank you.

Wes, our site supervisor, consistently went above and beyond throughout the build and after, helping us with numerous queries, site visits and providing updates in a timely manner.

Although we had several construction coordinators along the way, we eventually ended up with Brooke, who was by far the best that we had dealt with, she also went above and beyond to support us through the final stages of construction and handover.

The workmanship on the finished home is okay and generally meets our expectations. While not everything was perfect, we’re happy with the final result.

course of our build, we had 3 different site supervisors. The one we had for the longest amount of time and who saw us through to the end was Justin Williams, who excelled in his time on our build. His attention to detail, responsiveness to any issues that needed fixing, and ability to keep everything on track gave us complete confidence throughout the journey. He truly went above and beyond to ensure the quality of our home was second to none.

We also want to acknowledge Janie Issa who was our construction coordinator, who was absolutely amazing. She was always approachable, supportive, and quick to assist whenever we had questions. Her guidance made the whole process so much smoother and less stressful. She helped us communicate with the certifier to get our partial OC super quickly when we needed it, as our bank wouldn’t release our final payment without it!

A little disappointed in not getting a choice in vanities for the bathrooms, that would have been a good option! Post build Cheryl from 90 Day Maintenance was excellent in keeping us informed of appointments with trades. Cheryl had things well organised which was extremely helpful. Shay's experience and preparation was extremely useful for us as the selection process can be challenging with so many decisions to be made. One of the things that was really useful from my perspective was that Shay had clearly prepared thoroughly for our selections meeting and had a range of questions and suggestions ready to share with us, which helped simplify things and avoid some potential issues around the look of our house. Shay's guidance and honest feedback helped smooth that process for us and with Shay's help, our house looks great and fits with the look and feel we were going for. Shay also took on our construction support and was excellent at keeping us updated and working with us to keep everything moving efficiently. Moving on to construction, we had 2 site supervisors, one who started our project and then Angelo Zappala who took our house from the frame stage through to completion. Angelo was excellent - he communicates with regular updates and genuinely cares about the product being delivered. Angelo took on our build after a period of time where things had stalled with our previous site supervisor and quickly got things moving again. Angelo would regularly contact me outside of what I'd consider standard site supervisor working hours, including on weekends and holidays, when we had things that needed to be sorted out quickly. Angelo is a real asset for Masterton and if we build another house I'd want him to manage it from start to finish. We have had a few little issues since handover and they have been sorted out appropriately so far. Thanks to the team at Masterton - we are happy with our house and would do it again.
