Furniture does not last – I bought a couch from Matt Blatt a year and a half ago and after a year there was a very large indent in the couch. Not sure if they use sub standard springs but they should last longer than a year. A couch is meant to be sat on but apparently not Matt Blatt couches. responded by stating the power supply provided with the item wasn't sufficient and to use something else. What rubbish I think they are having a laugh, this is absurd and regardless the unit doesn't work. I have asked repeatedly for the return address and they won't provide return details and have not responded to my request for a replacement. Money wasted!

anything nice to say about it. It came with a few chips anyway but they were easy to ignore. But in just over a week we’ve found that it damages way too easily. While twisting and lifting the table off the floor after construction, I placed my foot too close to the table top and my TOE NAIL took out a giant chip from the top. The table edges chip if you so much as breathe on them too hard. I was leaning against the table while sitting down and my jacket zippers took two sizeable chips out of the table. There’s damage from where we would have just brushed past while walking. After only a week of use. One week.

Dining tables are a high traffic zone. Quality is needed to ensure it has a long life and this table is sorely lacking in that department. As a new home owner, every dollar counts, and what we thought was a good quality dining table is so far from the truth it’s appalling. If you want this dining table - make sure it’s for display only as it will not withstand the test of time of actually being used for sitting and eating. Unless product quality is addressed and improved, I will not be shopping from this overpriced store again.

customer service from them. They are friendly, not pushy, and accommodating. Manager gave us a voucher to entice us and help us cross the line with the purchase. A lot of products are wood, skin / fur product hence there are some variations one has to expect. That worked against us one time where the furry cushion we bought appeared very flat. The shop readily took it back and offered to order another one in and let us inspect before taking it. Given it is not a bargain store, we did expect quality and service. Still, we really were delighted by their service.

More recently, we purchased a few furnitures from MB Blackburn and the experience was so great that I have just pushed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Sofie, the assistant manager, was so nice to let me know an item I have been eyeing on for quite a while was going on sale which helped me to save a significant amount of money. The store manager Lisa loaned us and even promised to personally deliver us an item so we can test it out in our home. May be I expect too little, I was completely blown away by her generosity and how accomodating they are to the point that I decided to just buy the item. Yep, you guessed it, she delivered it!

For that, we say thank you MB and we are happy returning customers, more like frequent returning customers.

sure it was exactly what we wanted.

The timing for delivery was within the time frame they had given us. We received a text message the day before re the delivery, followed by a phone call to let us know when the furniture would arrive. The delivery guy was really helpful and was happy to move our existing furniture to make room for our new furniture. The credenza came fully assembled which was great.. the only thing we needed to do was attach the legs which was very easy.

The credenza sits under our TV and people have commented that it looks as if it was custom built for the space. The walnut timber is solid and of a very high quality.

The coffee table is also just beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how thick the glass top is.

We couldn't recommend Matt Blatt highly enough.. we will be back!!

Money stolen from loyal customers! – Purchased furniture in late February 2020- making a deposit of $808.00. Agreed to wait a month for the 8 chairs to arrive. The company has been bought out by someone else. They keep stalling by refusing to refund our deposit. The order for our chairs has been cancelled. I recalled definitely making a comment about “oh, that’d be great that rubbish will be disposed as part of it as I live in an apartment and this will definitely make it easier” in front of the sales rep. However, sales rep had not clarify at that point that the $90 only covered for delivery and not rubbish disposal nor disposal. Delivery arrived, and delivery guys turned up and claimed no assembly and rubbish removal paid and allowed for. Delivery guys left in haste claiming other delivery lined up and on tight schedule. I was left with 5 very large card boxes and lots of plastic rubbish (disposal of huge rubbish in an apartment complex is not easy!). Okay, I’m a young mobile person who can manage assembly of the dining table and I can manage that part. I cannot deal with the rubbish that came with the delivery especially living in an apartment. I did not purchase the boxes and plastic waste! I Rang customer service immediately, the customer service rep obviously as expected kept repeating their defending lines and terms and claimed ‘ the sales rep had explained that in store and policy stated this and that and we can’t do anything’, with no understanding of the poor service and no clarification offered at time of purchase. If I had been explained to properly before purchase, I could’ve made alternative arrangement such as an air tasker or equivalent or borrow a Ute from a friend to pick up items from the warehouse, deliver and assemble and dispose rubbish at a much cheaper price.

No sincerity from the customer service rep from the switch in solving the rubbish issue or providing a solution who simply kept saying she’s bound by policy, and then referred me to the store manager which also did not show any sincerity in rectifying the problem other than offering me to pay that additional $80 for someone to come in to assemble and dispose rubbish. No empathy of the customer’s situation, no flexibility or discretion in how the company would manage this situation. They have totally missed the point of not admitting/ accepting to any miscommunication to the customer. I requested a full refund of the delivery cost or get someone or the delivery guys back to take the rubbish away for free which were rejected quite bluntly. After much debate and frustration on multiple phone calls, store manager only offered refunding half of delivery charge (time wasted and frustration does not equate to that refund amount).

Matt Blatt management or corporate, you advertised as a high end furniture company, yet your service is at the lower end. If your furniture has that ‘fine touch of detailing’, your customer service has cut and scar those fine touches.

Sorry, you have lost future businesses from my family based on this experience and from my circle of influence. Looking at all other past feedback and review. the company has not learnt or cared to look at improving their process and customer management. How many comments were related to waste and rubbish, how many related to delivery issues and returns... I wish I had look at this forum before the purchase. No wonder the review function in their Facebook and their website are lacking..

Quality of dining set appears good so far but only time could tell after use. However customer experience has really affected this whole purchase experience.

legs connected for both of the tables was extremely difficult. They would get stuck and it was impossible for me to push them down on my own. I then called the customer service line to ask for help and spoke to someone. When I explained that there may be something faulty with the legs not fitting on properly - he advised that I should fill in the warranty form, take some pictures and send it in - after which they would assess it and let me know next steps. I advised him that we were just around the corner from Christmas and I could not have a half made dining and coffee table just hanging around in my living room while they assessed my issue and decided how to proceed. Even if it was decided that the tables should be picked up and returned, it could take a couple of weeks for all of that to happen. When I said this, instead of being sympathetic to my issue and providing me with some customer service solution, the person I spoke to was extremely rude. He responded with "Well, what do you think we should do about it? Give us a better solution if you have one. Sometimes things are faulty - nothing we can do about it." When I suggested dropping it off at the showroom, he responded with, "Well, what are they going to do about it? They're just a showroom". In the end he agreed that it was ok for me to drop it at the showroom.

Given how heavy the glass is, and how much effort it would be for me to take it back to the showroom, I decided to call in a carpenter to fix the tables myself. The carpenter was able to more or less put the tables together but even he remarked how difficult it was and that it would have been impossible for me to do it myself.

I would never ever recommend Matt Blatt to anyone.

Buyer beware – Was told a week ago that the sale specials would finish next day- still going. Dont buy unless absolutely sure- T&C misleading. You will not get a refund unless goods are faulty, and you are responsible for arranging and funding return to Sydney warehouse in return for a credit note. I will not shop here again Show details

Richmond shop to see if they would be more helpful but the lady responded to me in an aggravated manner, saying the shop was understaffed and she couldn't help me until the end of the day. however it's now 27 February 2019 and nothing has happened. No one returns my calls or emails, I have spoken with several team members within the customer service team trying to resolve this issue and have gotten nowhere. I am disgusted at the lack of customer service on such an expensive piece of furniture, this is so disappointing. My next step is to go to ACCC to resolve this.

Failed to replace faulty goods – I received a chair with faulty fabric and the warranty claim officer denied the fault and offered for me to swap it with the floor stock, but has not offered any discount off the full price I paid for receiving floor stock. Do not shop at Matt Blatt unless you are willing to accept faulty goods. Show details

Excellent service 'above and beyond' – Excellent in-store service from Jono at the Richmond store, followed by really exceptional care and attention to detail in the assembly of our Oxley wardrobe by Jesse and Jono. A confusion about how much assembly would be required by the customer was rectified with prompt, professional, no questions asked service, with Jesse taking great care to ensure the wardrobe was perfectly assembled.
