my MedscanRC008 thermometer slipped from my hand and since then has been constantly sounding the word English constantly. the only way I am able to stop it is by taking the batteries out. not sure how to resolve this issue.
My thermometer basically doesn’t work. Sometimes it beeps and no reading shows. The readings basically are all too low - 33-34 degrees. Will look at returning I think.
Where can I obtain one of these and price please.

How do you replace the old batteries
Slide the blue cover off “gently” being quite hard in my experience. Here is the online manual: external link

How to reset settings?.....it Is not showing correct recordings... room temperature showing correctly but body temperature not showing correct

Can I use this on newborn baby 3 weeks old? Will it give me the best reading?
Hi Bec, The Medescan Touchless Thermometer is designed for use from birth. Unlike Tympanic thermometers (Ear thermometer), there is no invasive probing of the child. With an ear thermometer, you must point the probe directly at the ear drum, which may be very difficult to do considering the smaller ear canals in infants.
The Medescan Touchless Thermometer, if used as per instructions manual, taking 3 different readings and using the highest reading obtained, can be extremely accurate and is currently used across Australian hospitals and Neonatal wards.

I'm finding using this difficult as I have a very wriggly baby so to not be able to rest it on his forehead is quite frustrating. Is it possible to take a reading from touching the forehead or temple?
I also really don't understand how taking three readings is determined accurate (the last reading) given that each time I have it near his temple it may or may not be 2.5cm away from his temple because he's moving a lot
Hi, thank you for the query, please see below some answers that might assist you: 1. You may rest the thermometer directly on the skin, however, if you place directly on skin, the field of measurement is greatly reduced and you might not get an accurate reading.
2. The thermometer should be pointing directly towards the right temple and within 2.5-5 cm of skin
3. The Medescan Touchless Thermometer works by reading the blood flow temperature in the artery. We recommend taking three readings in infants as the blood vessels are very small and as you mentioned the little ones can move during a reading and so there is a possibility of an inaccurate reading.
4. It is recommended to take 3 readings and always use the highest temperature reading obtained
Please note the Medescan Touchless Thermometer is the least intrusive thermometer available on the Australian market. You are able to use when the child is asleep without risk of disturbing them.

My son has periodic fever syndrome and forhead temperatures can't be used for him due to being an suto-inflammatory disease.. Can this be used under the arm which is closest to his core? Thanks.
Hi, The Medescan Touchless Thermometer can be used any spot on the body where there is an artery close to the surface including under armpit. By default, the Medescan is calibrated to the temple. However, our customer service team can help you calibrate the temperature readings for your chosen body area and ensure accuracy.

how to cancel the sound after test the temperature?

Where do you test the temperature from?
I use it on my bub's forhead and side temples, there will be some variation but not by much.
