JT was highly professional and accomodating. Patiently explaining the various considerations and ensuring we had the correct air conditioner that best suits our needs.

Not a good way to run a business. Feels like they take advantage of unclear messaging – Brisbane Heatwave, and the AC died late afternoon. Many calls later, and no one was available for weeks. $140 call-out fee, I got some kid with a camera who took external photos and then presented me with a $2,000+ quote for a "rejuvenation", wherein any faults could only be assessed later.

I wrote to them to complain that my needs were clearly expressed and that, had they been transparent about what I was actually going to receive, I would never have bothered accepting their so-called service. The "photographer" even said, "Well, it's an emergency service, that's why I'm here."

To do what, exactly? If I call an ambulance, I don’t expect someone to photograph my injuries and give me a quote.

As a reasonable consumer, I asked for a refund. In response, I received the following:

"I have listened back to the original booking call. On this call, you were played our recorded message that explains our rejuvenation process. For the $141.90, our technician will attend the property to provide a quote to perform a rejuvenation or service on the unit first. This is always the first step through us as it allows our technician to properly understand the overall condition of the unit. You accepted this and paid the attendance fee for our technician to attend and provide a quote to perform the service. Because you were advised what the attendance fee covers and we have fulfilled this, I am unable to provide a refund."

So, remember kids: next time you hear pre-recorded terms and conditions, pay attention to every word.

If the company would like to provide me with a recording of the entire conversation, and it turns out that, in my heat-stressed state of mind, I was clearly in the wrong, I will edit this review—or transcribe the entire conversation if I remain as underwhelmed as I still feel about this experience.

Aircon replacement – ZC - Zak came out to inspected my aircon and gave me options for repair or replacement and after his excellent explanations I am having a new system installed. Thank you Zak.

Drain reline – Z.c I greatly appreciate the work on my sewer. From the start, I was relieved by the attention to detail and friendliness of the crew--I knew I had chosen well. The work is continuing now, with same quality throughout. The folks in this crew are welcome in my home anytime.

AC maintenance by BC – Friendly, got the air con component job done as per the quote we were given the night before which is very prompt service. Usually find it difficult to get contractors in the morteon bay area so glad they could move on with the job asap. Show reply

Dodgy Business - DO NOT USE – Do not use this company, they charge a call out fee for a sales person to quote a rejuvenation service whether you need it or not. They don't do anything and you're out of pocket $141. Scammers! Use a different company.

SCAM! Stay away. wouldn't have got paid the call out fee. He was in and out within 5 minutes. But when we made the booking, we were assured that they would fix the problem on the spot if possible. How were they going to fix the air con if they made no attempt to identify the problem? We are out of pocket $141.90 for the call out fee. We've requested a receipt but none have been emailed to us. How are they still in business? Very unethical and dishonest. Misleading conduct. It amounts to fraud/scam. FYI...we contacted 2 local air con specialists and were quoted $250 including GST for a full service not the $2,200 rejuvenation bullshit. Unfortunately, we read your reviews here after the bullshit call out from Metropolitan. A week later, Harp Air serviced our air con for $250 including GST. Metropolitan did not respond to our formal complaint nor refund us our call out fee. We are pursuing the matter further.

Terrible terrible terrible – do not use! Terrible customer service ! Call out fee $140 for tech to just take a photo of my aircon unit ..then said almost $2000 to fix ..how can you diagnose from a photo ..and with a very over priced quote …absolutely disgusting customer service ..

Terrible service. Geared for the vulnerble and not for customers who ask questions – The only option is to have a callout which incurs a "standard fee" of $141. You are put into a 3 hour timeframe which can be any time 24/7. Ours was 7pm-10pm - no show until 11pm. Don't bother trying to contact - only have a 1300 number and the person who answers that gives standard spiel of "out of their jurisdiction". Worst experience. Worst service. Disgusting scam – An absolute scam. I told them the error message before booking. They insisted on a $2000 process to then tell me the same thing I told them. Then tell us that they have no intention of actually fixing the problem. Appears they never had any intention to actually fix our problem.

Will not use Metropolitan ever again – 1st scheduled appointment was delayed then cancelled, so waited around for 5 hours. 2nd appointment they arrived late again, left a card (I had an appointment after the agreed 12:00 - 3:00 pm window, and left at 3:30 pm) 3rd rescheduled appointment, they gave me the wrong hours. and they said the window was actually 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Air con tech arrives around 6:30 / 6:45 pm, does some diagnostic testing and then gives me a quote for $1200 for an "investigation clean" which would only identify what's wrong, not include fixing it. So, I basically paid $150 dollars for a man to come out and tell me it would cost me another $1200 to find out what was actually wrong. Very disappointed and will not be using their services again.

Avoid at all costs – $140 call out/qoute fee to be told that the standard installation fee begins at $8000. But they can't say that over the phone because they want the $140 call out fee.

I do want to note that the sales guy himself was a nice guy, no complaints about him personally, he just seemed stuck working for a company that’s running a scam.

I fell for their scam where they don't actually tell you what's wrong for the call out fee – Got these guys out today fully understanding that they have a $141 call out fee. [Content Removed] – This company are like a call centre scam, they send technicians that spend all of 5 mins telling you what it will cost to fix a problem but never actual do any diagnosis. They must have people just driving around charging $141 per visit. SCAM, then I got a quote for 2kw split system for $12,000. I could get a ducted system installed for that. It's like someone quoting extremely high for $141 knowing rightly nobody will accept their quotes.

your $140. I rang the company to complain but they remind you that you agreed to the call out, despite the fact their quote is 10x industry standard for that type of work. I went with another company who did my Aircons for $140-$170 per unit which is industry standard.

How these idiots still run a company and are not shutdown by Police is beyond me.

Do not use!! Very poor service – Wish I read the previous reviews, we had the same experience as most people. Couldn’t even tell us what was wrong with our air cons and didn’t even pull it apart to find out, just gave us a price on a new unit and a price to send it away for repair. No customer service skills at all, unsure if the person was new to the job, didn’t know what they were doing or were just rude.

website. As she is a first home owner she was unaware that the usual cost to do this job would be maximum $300. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to report this over charging as she was asked to sign the quote to say she accepted the charge.

$141 to book appointment only - CON – $141 callout fee, stood at unit without even opening to say do a rejuvenation which solves 90% of issues (i.e. high pressure clean with chemicals) and quoted $1300. Did not even take any covers off to look or listen to unit. It's not cooling and I expect it to the the compressor, however not proceeding as I feel they will bleed me dry, and thank goodness when reading other reviews. Stay clear, total con.
