Don't buy online with Michael Hill Purchased an gift online for Xmas and wanted to exchange the item for another size. Due to policies the Customer Service replied to say there could not be an exchange and there was no other option but to follow the relevant policies. Miss Represented The Pics on the web site look fantastic but the reality after receiver them is pretty ordinary. Everything looks bigger in the picks and the apparent quality looks great until you hold it in your hand. I would NOT recommend ordering anything from Michael Hill on Line. totally clear (Australian opals don't turn completely clear over time). It was clearly a synthetic opal that was sold as a genuine Australian opal (they are still selling them). My pictures show a before shot when i first brought them, then 2 after shots. You can see its just clear. I eventually heard back from Michael Hill head office and they said they can;t give me any refund unless I have the second earring (even though they are considered individual items). I was only seeking a refund for the one remaining one because it was clearly a fake and sold to me as real, but they stopped responding to my emails. Pretty sure this goes against ACCC rules so am perusing it. Buyer beware, Michael Hill uses fake opals for some of their items. If anyone else has expereicned the same get in contact, I'm sure there is lots out there.

Everything is way too expensive on your website but you still using cheapest option to deliver the expensive items to the customer. Fortunately I’d kept the original packaging when I realised their error otherwise I’d have had to pay for a post bag. I tracked the package and it arrived at Michael Hill’s yesterday which I pointed out to them by email. Today I received an email from them 'appreciating my honesty'. I’d have thought that an offer of a small discount on my next purchase (as I’d just saved them $369) would have rewarded my honesty and, more importantly, shown good customer service! The sales woman said at first they are very blue maybe we ordered the blue topaz but when we confirmed we ordered the emerald earrings she said they’re natural so there are color variations. I can’t help but feel that it’s completely false advertising as they look nothing like what’s online. Of course there was no offer to rectify it. have the same issue. All I ask for is either a store credit, refund, repair OR replacement. I am now stuck with a pair of broken earrings which I loved very much and the staff both online and in store refuse to help me in any way. A pair of gold earrings really should last a lot longer than two years. The style being discontinued goes to show how bad quality these particular earrings are and yet no one from Michael Hill wishes to acknowledge this. Faulty product, poor customer care – We purchased a silver bangle for our Neice's 21st. She lost it due to a faulty clasp. A number of customer reviews back up our claim. “Life time Diamond” warranty because I didn’t get the 6 months checks completed. I explained I live a 2000km round trip from the nearest store and it’s not really fair or realistic for me to be expected to travel that distance every 6 months.

Lucky I love a good ACCC challenge when people are mistreated by companies. I have given them a weeks notice for further response or solution before I start the process.
I have spent a future at Michael Hill but sadly that might just be my last piece from them.

Edit: I replied via email to MHs response explaining the situation and was given a generic feeling "Sorry but we dont replace lost items" Which of course not. My complaint is that the item was obviously faulty causing it to break multiple times and be lost. The anklet was only worn a few times and broke each time. For the price it's very disappointing.

The virtual booking was amazing, great service, I didn't feel pushed into buying. The staff member had all the products I chose ready and more. She explained everything, offered aftercare which I purchased. She was professional. Shipping was with a courier, as the store I purchased from was on the opposite side of town. It arrived within 2 days of purchase meaning I was able to give the gift to my friend on her actual birthday, rather than it being a delayed birthday gift. I didn't pay additional for the delivery, which I thought was a really nice touch.
