Dodgy company who changed their name to avoid liability for crap installs. I bought a floating floor off these guys when they were mikes discount flooring center. Floor started to fail after 3 years due to bad install and they refused to engage to sort it out. Don’t buy from these fuys Show details

Worst customer service. Still waiting on a quote after 1 month. Rang twice, emailed twice, got nowhere. Emails ignored and brushed off phone calls stating would have quote in next couple of days, 3 weeks later still nothing. Rude when a query is raised like you have no right to contact them. all and said office would provide. He claimed he hadn't even worked out the carpet area ! Getting information is like pulling teeth. Just get excuses when enquire. I'll get the quote but I'll never use them. So unprofessional.

The worst organisation I have ever dealt with in 35 years – Mike’s Carpets gave me a quote in February 2023, and I paid 70% of the total amount which was $1700. They then told me there was no product available. And then they stopped taking my calls .

After many calls and emails eventually someone called me back and told me that I would receive my refund within 21 days and it is now two months later and I have not seen one. Cent of the $1700.

I have literally spent more than 20 hours trying to communicate with this company.

The company will not respond to my phone calls so we decided to try and visit a store to talk to an actual person. We have just visited the Mikes Carpet Shop in Glen Waverley to see if we could find someone to discuss it with and we can see that there is a Supreme Court injunction on the door of the shop and the shop is closed.

yesterday. I could not get an answer regarding arrival time from them apart from a two hour window (from 9am to 11am). It was not until well after 11am that I was informed that no one would be arriving today but they would reschedule. I am 6-months pregnant and it's the week before Christmas - I had to take the day off work so that the floors could be redone. Now I can't get an exact time for the reschedule so with all the stress on myself and the baby, I have decided to request a refund. Unfortunately, I have not received one response to my request for a refund. If I do not hear back from them today, I will need to make an application to VCAT. More stress on me and the baby!! I cannot say how dissapointing this is, especially at this time.

builder was horrified . We did get carpet from them laid as well the day before and that wasn’t too bad, except they didn’t clean up after themselves . The contractors who laid the floating floor said they had to sand the floor first asking for another $600 and never used a protector so the dust went everywhere . So now the carpet and our newly painted walls, kitchen etc are now full of saw dust so we have to get in professional cleaners . This was not our only problem . We had delays and no shows with no communication before the job was started . We were going to order curtains through this company but not a chance . They also insist on money up front so we couldn’t even get money back . One person from the company tried to help us but not even that worked . We feel sick to the stomach at the mess and stress this company has created and we now have to pay a professional to fix there inferior work.

Please, please, please go elsewhere .

So disappointed- don’t recommend – So frustrated with these guys. They didn’t prep the floor properly so we have sagging tiles in the kitchen and they won’t get back to me about fixing it even after assuring me they would call me back. Show details

Worst customer service ever – Well it's like this, i got a quote from Mikes carpets Carrum Downs. They came out and gave me a really cheap quote on floating floor boards for my kitchen, bathroom laundry and toilet area. The quote was really cheap and the salesman was very nice. and the installer came out. Apart from having body odour he did a fantastic job. I really couldn't fault him. Not long after water was seeping in from in front of the shower door area and is getting under the floor boards where you step out of the shower. The water getting under the floor boards is staining underneath and coming through. I called Mikes Carpets Carrum Downs and after several phone calls chasing them they said they will send someone out. Someone did come out and said " It's covered under warranty, someone in the office will contact you within a few days ". Of course no one did and the chase was back on at my end.

I have been calling them and leaving messages. No one at Carrum Downs ever returns messages. They don't seem to care less about anyone. I then some how got hold of Gagan and he said he is the customer something or other manager and he said he will look into this and will definately ring me tomorrow. This was last Thursday and of course no one returned my call. I have called many times and left messages. Of course, Mikes Carpets at Carrum Downs either dont check there message bank or couldn't be bothered returning calls or don't care. I think it's a bit of all 3. I then spoke to someone else today there and he said he will try to leave as message for Gagan as he doesn't know what to do and he hung up on me.

I'm chasing Mikes Carpets Carrum Downs continuosly and they couldn't care less. The salesman was great, good cheap quote. The product was fine, just unfortunately water seeped in in front of the shower and got under the boards and have stained underneath the boards. The installer came out, he was fine, a bit of body odour but apart from that did a sterling job. So so far Mikes Carpets in Carrum Downs have been great. But then we come to the after sales service and it is absolutely appalling. Its me chasing chasing them and the only thing i have got is they sent someone out to check the water damage and he said weeks ago someone will contact you from the office within days. After that, nothing. It's me constantly ring them and Gagan saying i have his word he will call tomorrow and of course nothing happens. I'VE HAD IT. Tomorrow being June 30th i am going to contact Consumer Affairs.

Everything was great until there was a problem and all the Carrum Downs office says to me is they promise they will look into it and call me back and of course nothing ever happens.

70% upon confirmation of order. The carpet was supposed to be installed one week later. I managed to get them to agree to 30% upon installation as they had delayed their dates.

I am a remote owner of the property, they did not finish the job and my agent provided feedback to me that the installer left a mess on site. The carpet was partly remnants of pieces, they joined the pieces at multiple locations, at the walkway, lounge and living area. At one sport, 2 different colour shades of carpet was used. The property is vacant and despite my numerous calls and my agent following-up calls, they agreed to make good the badly done joints but they did not after I pay the balance. They wanted me to pay the balance 30% which is $1200 but offered to accept $1000 and balance $200 upon rectification the bad joints. I also have to hire someone to clean the property for the mess.

Guess what? After paying them the $1,000. They stopped taking my calls, and made my agent waited for them several times but never showed up to fix the problem. I left countless messages (emails, voice and text) to their staff but no one responded.

FYI, the staff I am dealing with for measurement and quote is called Samba (not even sure is his real name), as generally he does not pick up calls but called back later. The lady who chased money is called Akansha. Another guy called Vasu who asked for first payment. If you called them after the confirmed order, you are at their mercy, you would find that you will always talk to an answering machines if not, a number of staff take turn to answer you and promised to call back which never happen.

This is a most unscrupulous business practice, beware, never, never pay them up front, if you really want to deal with them. Once you part with your money, good luck.

I wanted add that Hi-Pages few other online tasks platform do not seems to screen their service providers.

Do not go there!!! – The payment terms are ridiculous (70% up front and the other 30% before any carpet even arrives at the house) and it all communications with this company were very dodgy to say the least. Vacuuming up their mess apparently wasn't in the contract either! Go elsewhere.

carpet in a different colour but didn’t finish the job properly or in the way the sales person said was possible. Then when asked to discount the job they refused to return calls or emails. Then instead of discussing the outstanding amount they immediately took out a caveat on the sale of the property. Shonky company, dodgy sales team and inferior products. Then when they do the wrong thing they take over the top dodgy legal action. If I could minus stars I would.

Dodgy & dishonest – As per so many other reviwers on here - Installer did not show up to do the job and then they refused to refund my $2500. I lodged a charge back through my bank & VISA and got every penny back. Charge backs cost the merchant fees & the more customers lodge them the more it costs the merchant. STAY AWAY – worst experience I have ever encountered, they installed the incorrect colour and style flooring and refused to replace it. It was also incorrectly installed and made so much noise when walking on it. After they refused to fix their error I took them to VCAT and was awarded damages. responded. I had to call up several times to follow up for the last two months. Still no repair. Today when I called again to check when repair will be arranged, the business manager told me that if you want the carpet repaired you remove your Google review first! If you don't remove the review, NO REPAIR! I had to post my review on Google based on my experience because I have never received responses from the business for two months. The manager told me that "Call me to arrange repair after you remove the review first". I should've checked their reviews beforehand. This is disgusting customer service!

leaking into the actual showroom) however consultants on site were nice. They offered to send someone to our place to quote us ([Name Removed] was his name). He seemed to be friendly and helpful. First red flag was when he asked for a 50% deposit to secure materials based on his calculations before even finalising a formal quote. My wife was very keen as she liked the materials on offer. When I queried [Name Removed] about the 50% deposit required, he advised that the company has so many debtors as people are not paying them after completing their jobs, so now they are asking for 50% upfront. My wife agreed to paying the 50% deposit. That same evening I decided to do some homework and check reviews about this company as what we were told by [Name Removed] didn't seem quiet right . I quickly realised that one should steer away from this company, based on the negative reviews posted here and in other public forums. We then contacted Mike's carpet the following day requesting a refund. Keep in mind here that we haven't locked in a job, we haven't even received a quote at this stage. Two days of following up and calls from our end, with no results. I then contacted [Name Removed] who got their accounts team to email us back, only to state that they will charge us a 10% refund processing fee. Outrageous to say the least. These guys advertise free quotes to start with, please remember that we haven't even received a quote here. We the contacted our bank and disputed the transaction as fraudulent. We received our funds from our bank 45 days later, once the dispute was finalised as this business couldn't provide any evidence to support the charge on our credit card. In between, there were so many calls and emails from our end where they hung up on us, did not respond to emails, were rude to us and the list is long. In the meantime, remember to exercise extreme care when dealing with this business.

looking like they had no idea what they were doing.We had troubles with the floorboards in the first 4 weeks,coming out from under the trim and the boards already moving apart from each other leaving gaps in the floor. trying to get a hold of someone from this company is impossible once they have your money, I had to go down to the store at least 7 times, finally they came and had a look (3 separate times with 3 different installers) all had said it was a very bad install job from the person who did it. mike also admitting that the installer who did my floors (who fled the state mind you) didn't seem to great as at least 3 different jobs he had done are needing to be be redone.finally they came out to replace the boards but then didn't follow through with doing them and said we are going to get the supplier involved because there are to many boards that need to be replaced.(passing the buck) its has been months and months back and forth that it has now been nearly 2 years since first contact and nothing has actually been pulled up and redone, no one will return my calls even when going down to the shop still nothing. please please do not make the same mistake I did with going with this company !! it is heartbreaking to pay so much for such a crappy job. i will be taking things further.

they came to install the new team said they couldn’t do the job. I have been trying to cancel the job and get a refund for over three weeks. They don’t respond to emails and when I call they simply say the matter has been escalated.

They are cheap for a reason!

Very unhappy – Extremely unhappy with service. The installers kept going out for a smoke and left my newly installed carpet smelling of smoke. I had to air out my 5yr old sons bedroom for a week who is very sensitive to smoke. ( i was also heavily pregnant and senitive to smoke myself, and asked them to not smoke please).I left numerous voicemail messages to talk to manager in rosebud store and never heard back from them. Disgusting service never use again.

Don’t waste your time – I have renovated 3 houses and this was the worse company I have had the displeasure of working with. The house was old and not perfectly square, so despite telling us they would do the job, they did not have the expertise to.
