in contact with water. Would you believe it — WATER faded the fabric like bleach. When I contacted the company, I was bounced between the store and head office repeatedly before being told I needed to present my original receipt to proceed. As someone who loved the bag and had no reason to anticipate a quality issue, I hadn’t kept it. What frustrated me most is that this bag has MIMCO printed all over it — there is no question where it was purchased. For a brand at this price point, I expected both a quality product and a straightforward resolution process. Feeling frustrated with the generic AI robot response, I then complained again to the store. I was contacted the following day and offered a voucher for the price of the bag to pick up in store. When I arrived days later, I was met with an inexperienced sales assistant who handled my issue very badly, even though I was assured they were expecting me. She couldn’t be bothered to do anything until I insisted. When the manager eventually arrived, there was NO APOLOGY for the defective bag. I was merely treated like a liar because I had no receipt. The defective bag was never acknowledged as a defect — it was stated that the voucher was an act of goodwill. Obviously it was assumed that I wasn’t being truthful, so I was offered their lowest sale price of a $39 VOUCHER. I WAS SO INSULTED ——I WALKED OUT.

Mimco can keep their lowball offer — they obviously need the money more than I do —-I suggest adding it toward training the staff on how to handle a complaint!

I will be lodging a complaint with the ACCC and would caution others before purchasing from a brand that does not value the customer.

P.S I have been a Mimco customer for over 20 yrs I have 10 handbags , purses, multiple hair accessories and some jewellery. Apparently I have only one purchase on there database. I will NEVER spend another cent with this brand!!

Super disappointed. It wasn’t a cheap backpack, and the black leather is peeling around the handle and straps. It isn’t even a year old. These ‘designer’ brands need to do better. And they don’t let you leave reviews on their website.

Excellent customer service – I shop at the Mimco kiosk store in Joondalup and Nicole is always extremely professional and knowledgeable about the products. I have bought accessories, jewellery and bags and have always been very happy with my purchases. I love my Shield shoulder bag. It’s the perfect hold all bag for work. I highly recommend Mimco for both style and quality.

Bag hardly used – The buckle fell apart on my expensive Mimco bag, rendering the bag totally useless. Although the bag was out of warranty it was rarely used. lacking, this afternoon for my click-and-collect experience.

Firstly, I have never shopped at Mimco and with that said, I certainly won't be again at the Mimco Central Plaza.

I came into the store just after 1 pm to collect, with two staff serving at the counter, as a third went to lunch. A blonde girl asked me if she could assist and as soon as I said it was a collection, she gave me a spiel that the other person, who was serving would assist as she needed to be on the floor, like she was the directrice of Chanel!

Now you are aware of your store size, there's no separate rooms or blind spots so she could have quickly assisted AND acknowledged any new customers as they entered AND done my collection but no, she stood there greeting and smiling, which is all well and good and after about five minutes of me waiting, I heard her tell another customer to join the line for service. This is when I spin around and point out that if she had just assisted me in the first place, there wouldn't be a line.

She blustered some reasons as to why she HAD to be on the floor but then sent the other girl, who had just finished her sale on to the floor and proceeded to make the gesture to get my item.

I absolutely refused to accept service from her as she didn't want to assist initially, she continued to sprout rubbish and the other girl, processed my click and collect within 30 seconds. I genuinely wish I had had the manners to thank the girl who assisted but I was too furious and just asked for my item (which I still haven't looked at) refused a bag and left with a parting shot at the blonde girl that the word shop assistant has assist in it.

No doubt you can watch this entire experience on your internal cameras.

I am fully of the belief that as my purchase was a collection and not going to her sales targets, she just couldn't care about the service. If I am wrong, I would appreciate a response to this email.

 Follow-up  · In regard to follow up on my Mimco experience....... There is none. This is not a product I can align with or consider purchasing again. My disposable income and shopping experience must give me something back, besides the product. It's a small wrist purse, but the initial point of contact and service staff dismissal is something that I will always remember, and we are two years on. I'm sure she's gone, but so am I. Seeya!

Rogue sunglasses – I purchased pearl white sunglasses for my wife for a surprise Christmas present at Westfield Burwood store. My wife looked at this item a few days prior to my purchase & was so pleased when I gave her the surprise Christmas morning. I returned a product and was told in-store that the amount paid using rewards would be returned to my account as a goodwill gesture (this was written on the receipt). However, the rewards were never credited back. I contacted Mimco customer service today. (No phone number available, only text (first response after 4 hours) and online chat… Read more

The response I received from Afshar via online chat: “When a purchase is returned for a refund, any reward used on that purchase is forfeited and not reinstated. In the future, you can retain your reward by opting for an exchange instead of a refund.” If this policy had been clearly explained in-store, I would have chosen an exchange instead of a "refund". The customer service agent apologized but offered absolutely no resolution. I like Mimco’s designs, especially the jewelry, but this experience has been totally unexpected. It makes me question why some Australian fashion brands struggle to match the service standards of reputable global brands. Unfortunately, this experience marks the end of my purchases from Mimco.

Love being judged? Go in-store to Mimco! – I brought a bag into a store to be reviewed by a manager. She didn’t even care that it is damaged. She said that because I wore it into the store today that it was clearly the only bag that I own and instead of bringing the bag inside another bag that I’m okay with it being damaged. style, took them to get exchanged and they wouldn’t let me swap them. Frustrating because they weren’t cheap and now they will just sit in my wardrobe. They need to have a seal or disinfect them or something, so people can swap them and enjoy the pair that they like.

So disappointing because I really love some of the pieces but not worth what you spend considering the above.

about it and totally treated me like I wasnt even there. I huffed at her, and she still ignored me. After a few minutes the other woman left, and she then asked me if I needed assistance. I said to her "I am surprised you even see me, as you pushed me out of the way like I was nothing". Instead of apologising she just said "well I was serving the other woman". WOW! Horrible service.

Additionally, I bought a $60 umbrella from a store which had very good reviews from their website. I used it twice already and both times it was useless. It was flimsy and really poorly made and did not cope well with the weather. I tried to leave a review on the Mimco website but it doesn't allow me to. When I accessed the online assistance I was told they could not do anything as asking for reviews is a random thing their marketing team does. What a joke! I still like many of their products, but this has left a sour taste in my mouth.

ago I ordered a few things online which I was to go in to collect, but due to illness I am unfortunately stuck in bed. I called them this morning and spoke to Amanda, explaining my situation and asking if my partner could go in and collect my order. I confirmed that I had given him a photo of my order and also the email from them stating my order was ready to collect. I also gave him my drivers licence as they call or FaceTime to confirm. I told Amanda not to die of shock when she saw me propped up in bed and looking pretty awful. We both laughed and that put me at ease. There hasn’t been a single time in the years I have shopped there, that I could say anything different and believe me, I can be a bit fussy. Take a well deserved pat on the back Ladies, you could teach some other retailers about real Customer service. Thank you.

serving me was like no it all matches and sent me on my way.  If I was the staff. I would have reiterated that ear rings can’t be returned especially given I had a doubt. Without a word of lie, I didn’t open that bag, it was as is.. I still wasn’t sure, so I went back and told them honestly I haven’t touched the jewellery it’s as it is..they just kept saying no policy says…. Tried to get them to think from a customer point of view, and also the same lady who sold me the items was there..but no avail, no manager at the store or could be contacted.  They kept saying customers do this hence the policy is there..well every customer is different and that’s what customer service is about, you need to know your customer and tailor a resolution for them, no it was a blanket no listening, almost calling me liar.. I called back, that advised that a manager can back only on Tuesday. Now the Manager called back..you could clearly tell..mind was already made up.  I went in to explain the situation. Now what frustrated and annoyed me was the response: Response was policy, yes, but added I am going to stand by my staff here..now that’s not great, so immaterial of what I would have said, mind was made up..so why call me, if you have decided to stand by your staff.. Then told me that the policy is there so our customers know they are getting an hygienic product..I asked the question, how do we as customers know that? We are trusting you right? So here a customer is asking you to trust them.. She felt I was questioning her intelligence and started getting very defensive and yes I was frustrated, one because she as a manager couldn’t explain the policy and 2 already had her mind made up as she was going to stand by her staff.  So why call me in the first place, if you aim is to just tell me what your staff already did without any proper explanation I can see some very sad reviews online and a few to do service..so reaching out to you so you are aware and have appropriate staff and more importantly leaders, who yes need to support their staff, however have to balance their customer service element too. I deal a lot with country road and they are lovely, maybe some knowledge sharing would add value.
