Wouldn't buy again due to the service. We have the DXK09ZSA and it started making a clicking noise around 18 months in, only when on Cooling, not any other setting. I went through the warranty and they sent someone out (who used to work for Mitsubishi and has since started up his on aircon repair business) who couldn't see the problem to start,… Read more
then saw one small bit of mould and said "ah, that'll do it". He did say it was a bit odd that mould is only in the one area (also this machine is regularly cleaned like all our others) and he basically blamed the sparky for not filling in the wall cavity and that's how the moisture/mould is getting in and what has caused a piece to break?
I have never known mould (which every machine accumulates in QLD regardless how much you clean it) to break a piece inside the machine before. So, I had to pay the call out fee. Now for him to replace the part, ANOTHER call out fee would have to be paid and the labour/parts.
Anyway, its left a sour taste in my mouth and won't be purchasing another Mitsubishi aircon unit again.
We purchased our house in 2023 with a Daikin unit in the living area that must have been cleaned for id say 10 years and that works perfectly, even more so when we had it deep cleaned. Disappointed that a unit so new has developed a broken part due to apparently one spot of mould...
Honestly sounded like the guy just wanted money for his newly started business... never again.

Perfect for our bedroom – We're happy with this Mitsubishi AC unit. It's the perfect size to cool our medium sized bedroom. It's also really quiet which was our main prerequisite since we've been sleeping with it on during the hot nights in QLD. Show details
Very effective for my setting – I had the split system installed in my apartment prior to winter in 2022 and have now experienced using it both as a heater in winter and AC in summer. I'm located in Melbourne, Australia. I am very happy with it's performance thus far and it has handled the extremities of both sessions very well. It's much quieter and efficient than the previous… Read more
unit it replaced, which I would expect, as the split system I was replacing was almost 20 years old. Overall, I am very happy with the product and would recommend it under similar conditions.
This is a perfect Airconditioner perfect – I just love this Air Conditioner so much so easy to use very quiet while its running and very good on the power usage as well. Heats and cools the room quite quick very happy with it Show details
Effective air cons with one flaw – I bought two of these air cons and they're effective and quiet (both inside and outside units), so that's 90% of what they need to be! One "glaring" flaw though is the bright green LED light they have on them when they're operating, which makes them less ideal for bedroom use, unless you like sleeping bathed in a bright green glow like an… Read more
episode of the X-Files.
We sorted this out by sticking some "LED light block" stickers over the top though and although it's a bit unsightly the faint remaining glow that escapes through the surrounding plastic cracks etc doesn't bother us any more. I don't know why every manufacturer thinks it's a positive to have LEDs brighter than the sun on their products.
Terrible noise at lowest speed ~50 db – I bought a brand new 2.5kw avanti series from bunnings . The unit is generating noise even at lowest fan speed. As per the brochure it should generate no more than 20db indoors but mine has recorded 50db. called customer service but the lady had no answer other than asking me to fill up a warranty claim form and provide my master card details for… Read more
a service team to visit. Team will charge my card if they find no issues in the unit. Don’t know why would they charge if the unit is just 12 days old? Consulted with my aircon installer and he said its a ‘known flaw’ in Mitsubishi HI units.
Not sure Should I submit a claim or not.
I took this reading from my apple watch noise measurement app.

A very satisfying purchase and brand experience – The 2.5 kW unit performs very quietly and efficiently. This is our third MHI unit within last 12 months (others being Bronte 8.5 kW units). We are extremely satisfied with the brand, product quality and customer service.
Nimble heavy hitter – It's a pretty good little unit which is quiet and effective for the small space we are using it in. It doesn't require its own circuit which is an advantage too. Show details
Very cool ! – Very happy with our Mitsubishi Air Conditioners that we purchased the end of last year. Their quite and efficient. Make the home very comfortable. Show details

Terrible warranty experience – MHI sent out a third party contractor for a warranty claim for a less than one year old unit. They didn't honour the claim but still couldn't tell me how the unit lost gas. I've bought over a hundred units over my 25 years in the trade and this is the first claim I've ever had to make. Really disappointing that a large company would act like… Read more

I would highly recommend not buying anything from MHI.
Really disappointed.

Disappointing... However – The installer damaged our internal wall which has been unresolved and no offer to resolve. The installer company was to rectify however nothing. There are features on the Longe unit that do not work on the controller and were not tested by installing technician. Additionally, there was a rebate offer promotion to which we completed and there was… Read more
no rebate provided. This was a $500 cash bonus for the promotion. Not happy that this was never received and has been no contact.
Very poor – Less than 6 months work and the PCB is cactus. Contacted the installer, they came out didn’t tell me anything at the time except the PCB board was cactus, then Mitsubishi sent an email saying they don’t cover egress and that the problem was due to a large ant colony being present. There was photos taken of a burnt PCB board but not one ant. No… Read more
ants in the area at all. I raised a complaint and eventually after lots of hostile emails and calls where Mitsubishi attempted to blame me and the state of installation site, which was exactly how the installer left it, Mitsubishi offered to replace parts only. This meant I was still going to be out of pocket over $600 for the initial call out and the repair call out, Mitsubishi said they won’t cover the initial call out or repair costs. They’ve never returned an email, the communication has been hostile from the start, just have been at a total loss with the poor customer service. The aircon worked fine for 6 months but given it cost $800 for the whole unit I find it very hard to believe it’s going to cost nearly the same just to install a new PCB board. I’ve had to lodge a fair trading complaint to see if I can have it resolved, we need to purchase another 7kw system for our lounge room and we won’t be using Mitsubishi heavy again.
Update Wed 15 January MHIAA still has not come to the party to fix my unit. Ive been disputing… Read more (+2 replies)

The air conditioner itself is not a problem at the moment, except for the very poor installation workmanship we received from an installation company. Also, your Promotional programs are not user-friendly for senior citizens like us, who do not know your Digital Credit Card system. I hope you have some more alternative methods to satisfy end-users like ourselves. Show details

Aircon performed well, but since it was installed it had an annoying ticking fan noise most noticeable on low fan speeds. Finally got around to putting in a warranty claim and mitsi organised a local service agent to attend, who were able to rectify the issue on the spot. Show details
Aircon in the tropics – We have purchased Mitsubishi Heavy Industry units before and have never had any issues. When we purchased the new house that didn't have any aircons installed we shopped around but soon went back to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries based on value for money and previous reliability.
Outstanding purchase – This A/C is a great piece of equipment. We have used it over the hot days and nights and it is very quiet. The company that installed it were brilliant to deal with and the A/C was installed in approximately 3 hours. Can highly recommend the unit. We have run the unit for days and nights continuosly over summer and was perfect. Show details
Air-Conditioners, (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries as opposed to Mitsubishi Retail – On sale, good buy, work well, very quiet, good warranty, no problems so far but not used that much too date. Don't know what the long term use of the product will bring but I'm expecting it to be good. Installation was good. Show details
Excellent product – The aircon itself is excellent, very quiet and economical. Handles the extreme heat in Cairns very well. If you are buying with a cashback bonus then be prepared for a frustrating process trying to claim that. Show details
Perfect choice – This is absolutely the perfect bedroom air conditioner. Whisper quiet, you cannot hear it running. Cools the bedroom down in about 10 minutes. Highly recommended. Show details

Works Better Than Expected – Works better than expected, 2.5kw system really cools our bedroom and is so quiet the ceiling fan is noisier, couldn't be happier, if it keeps this up it will be brilliant. Hopeless warranty and after sales support. Avoid Mitsubishi/MHIA air conditioners specifically – 3 year old MHIA Avanti 2.5kw system. Failed under warranty. I live 10km from the CBD. Failure: 2/2/24 Fault diagnosed by licensed installer: 15/2/24 Warranty claim lodged: 25/2/24. Ofcourse, during the warranty claim shenanigans, there is a long list of exclusions and disclaimers. One of those is a standard disclaimer that if it turns out the… Read more
failure of the air conditioner was not due to an event covered by warranty, then I would be liable to reimburse MHIA for a service call out fee. Notwithstanding, I was content with that because the air conditioner was installed by a licensed refrigeration mechanic and electrician, (ARCtick, TRA and Electrical contractor license approved), whom was jolly enough to come out and spend an hour diagnosing the system and informing me that it was a pcb.
"Service Agent" contact: 29/2/24
The service agent whom was no more than a subbie and had limited information about the fault, informed me that he was required to attend to "diagnose" the fault (not repair). The earliest he would be able to attend was on the morning of 22/03/2024.
Attendance: 22/3/2024
On the morning of attendance I was informed by the service agent that I needed to sign an agreement between his company and myself that unless the failure was covered by warranty I would need to pay $330 service call out fee on the spot. I informed the delightful subbie that I have no relationship with him, and that I have given this assurance to MHIA. I was ignored and then he cancelled the appointment.
Poor Customer Service – I purchased this and another air conditioner from MHI in June 2023 by requesting a quote on their website. This one did not function correctly from the start whereas the bigger unit (which was installed a week later worked brilliantly). We first called the installer who said there was nothing wrong and if we made a warranty call MHIAA may charge… Read more
us if they found nothing wrong. We put in a warranty claim and MHIAA sent a contractor out who was abusive and left (then complained to MHIAA). I contacted MHIIA and they sent out another contractor who indicated there was a problem but couldn't find a cause - suggested a pressure test. MHIAA sent the original installer out to do the pressure test and he again said everything was fine. It then went quiet so I raised a case with NSW Consumer Affairs and so MHIAA sent out one of their own staff who ran a series of checks and determined there was an issue in the external unit where a value was not operating properly. MHIAA replaced the external unit and it now works brilliantly! This took six months to resolve because rather than sending out their technician MHIAA farm out their warranty work to installer. If I hadn't bought two AC it would have been hard to proof the problem to get anyone to resolve it.
Perfect size for a bedroom – I use this unit at night, particularly to cool my bedroom before sleeping. I do leave it on for a short while after going to bed and am surprised and pleased how quiet it is. It takes no time to cool the room, making it pleasant to go to sleep. Show details
Just in time – We had this air conditioner installed in the bedroom just in time for a very hot and damp summer in Brisbane. It has been so good to be able to cool the room down before going to bed. I am sure it will be a great help in winter too, to warm the air before bedtime. Works perfectly, and is easy to operate. Show details
Keeping me comfortable – Used for both heating and cooling. Heating takes around two minutes before you notice the actual heat, cooling (aircon) kicks almost in straight away.
