Store is uncontactable
I visited the Fyshwick store yesterday to enquire on the status of a pickup order, as they were impossible to call on the phone, claiming that their phone was broken.
Despite the website showing every item I ordered online as being in stock at the store, the customer service officer claimed that the website was broken and in fact none of the items I ordered were.
I was told I should have e-mailed first, which I did, but received no response. He then suggested that he would be in contact today, but close of business has now passed without a phone call or email.
They have what you want but customer service it terribad!
They have a website that does NOT track stock and they do not have phones.... Use only if they are the last resort! The general knowledge of the staff member (usually only one) is typically OK but their returns/customer service is universally awful!

Extremely poor customer service
I ordered a WD SSD and a enclosure from the online store for pickup from MSY Fyshwick. Both items were listed as being In Stock at both the online store and Fyshwick location. After payment had been processed I received an email asking me to wait until I received confirmation that the items were ready for pickup. After waiting for two weeks I emailed MSY and received no response. I called the Fyshwick store numerous times and the phone was never answered. I tried to use the online assistant, and after 30 minutes I went from 9th in the queue to ...8th so I closed the chat window. I then drove across town to the store to enquire about my order in person. The sales assistant was extremely difficult to understand and eventually I came to understand that the store did not have the enclosure I ordered in stock. I was offered a different enclosure that was $1 more expensive, and despite all the jerking around they were insistent that I paid that $1. The entire process took an incredible amount of time for what it was. There were other staff in the store and despite the phone ringing numerous times none of them answered it while I was there. I'm not sure what MSY is like with direct delivery from the online store, but I would not recommend in-store collection to anyone. The service was abysmal.
Poor Service. Shouldn't be in business
I purchased an SSD online on 17 Dec 19 for pickup from MSY Fyshwick. Online ordering system said it was in stock. The following day I received an email that it wasn't in stock. I contacted them and was told it would arrive on 9 Jan 20 and they would contact me. I was happy to wait. A few days after 9 Jan 20, I hadn't been contacted so I attended the store. They new nothing about my order but found it and reordered my SSD saying it would be available in three days, Thursday, when stock arrived. Again they didn't contact me and again when I atten...ded the store the SSD hadn't arrived. I was told it would arrive the following Thursday. Well again, I haven't been contacted. I have contacted MSY via their regional email address on two occasions without response. I would take a refund, however MSY need to be held to account. I encourage everyone to boycott these jerks and buy elsewhere...
Well I miss the old staff that’s for sure!
I’ve been buying from here for some time and always found the former staff to be helpful. One of them has remained at the store and is still customer focused but the other gentlemen there just brushes me off every time and doesn’t recognize me at all even after 18 months. The sad thing was that the HDD I went to purchase was in stock and held for me, just went to collect it and it was sold, now that’s the third time this has occurred. Back to PC Case Gear for me, much better service!
Bad service at the fyshwick store msy.
i think its a waste of time driving to msy in fyshwick the service is not good there rude not very helpful with parts i always leave with no parts as i went there to buy parts as my son was building my gaming pc i had a list and the guy Tryed to tell me it would cost thousand dollars or more to build one when i know it don,t as my son had build my pc with Reasonible price and its fast of course the parts were not from msy
I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star...
MSY is the WORST shop I have ever been to, and I mean that. After being sold a faulty product I asked for a refund but they said instead they will get a replacement instead as it's under warranty. Only after I signed the papers and sent it off did they tell me it would take 3 weeks, which seems ridiculously long but I didn't mind, I thought I'd just wait. After giving it 4 weeks I called multiple times and nobody ever picked up, so I sent an email. Their response literally said 'we're not sure what's going on we'll email you when we find out'. ...It was already a week late and they didn't go to any effort to find out what was happening. After 5 weeks I sent multiple emails and tried calling, getting no response each time. After 8 weeks (over a month longer than told it would take) I received an email saying they are not sure what's happening and they will just do the refund. They waited 2 months to give me a refund or even give me an answer!!! I had to go 2 months without my computer!! Not only this they were so rude to me in every encounter I had whether it be in person or over email. No apologies or thanks for waiting... nothing. Never ever ever shop at MSY, they will only cause problems.

Sells broken product. Charges you extra to fix it.
Bought a laptop from the shop. Case was in perfect condition but lighting behind screen broken out of the box. Took it back to the shop where they told me I must have damaged it and charged me $350 to fix it. Will never shop there again, they're not worth the risk.
Good prices, appalling service
I placed an online order and after over 24 hours from order confirmation, I was informed by a short anonymous email (which seems to be their approach) that they did not have the item (monitor) in stock in Fyshwick. There was no apology, no offer of an alternative monitor, no offer to source one from another store, nothing! Even when I asked about alternatives.
Then I notice 5 days later that they are listing the same monitor as "in stock" in Fyshwick as part of their Daily Deals. And still no offer to supply it to me, despite my confirmed order....
They may be cheap, but I would much rather pay a few extra $$$ (and it's usually not much) to buy from someone that will provide some level of customer service.

Worst Customer Service
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Bought a hdd. 3 months later stuffed. Took 4 weeks to tell me it will be replaced but 2 weeks after that still waiting. Despite being fined $200,000 in court for misleading customers on legal rights they are still breaching Australian Consumer Law by REFUSING to refund for faulty products which they are OBLIGATED to under the Australian Consumer Law Act 2011. Avoid avoid avoid MSY at all costs.
Slightly cheaper but terrible (borderline illegal) warranty practices
I've spent thousands of dollars at MSY over the years but after again having them send a damaged item back for repairs that take months, where under the ACCC guidelines they should be swapped or refunded, I will never again purchase anything from them. It's slightly cheaper but you make up for it in abhorrent wait times and terrible support should something fail.
Cheap and for people who know what they want
Seriously, if you need customer service, go somewhere else. Msy margins are not big enough to pay for hand holding. Bought from them in Melbourne and canberra, and always known what to expect, and been very happy with the prices. Also like that they have a shop front so if I get a dud unit I can take it straight back (never needed to yet though). I still remember trekking out to their store in pascoe vale and the lines out the front if the shop on a Saturday morning! Keep up the good work msy.
MSY great prices but hopeless to deal with.
MSY fyshwick are bloody hard to deal with.
To phone them you have to make a long distance call to a Sydney number ([censored word removed]). You then get placed on hold and after about 10 minutes you can leave a message which invariably goes unanswered or their phone system simply hangs up on you.
If you go into the store after say 16:00 be prepared to wait a while.
The staff are generally helpful but their management needs to hire more of them and revise the appalling phone system.
They have put on new staff recently which has improved over the counter service times.
Never had a problem with Canberra store
I have bought from them several times without issue. They are the only internet-price PC store in the ACT, so are the only real option if you don't want to meet the 25%+ mark-up of the other places or wait a week or more for delivery and pay freight. Hence the queue can take a while but I'm usually out in 10 minutes (don't go at lunch time though). Could do with more staff - only ever one or two serving, though they're okay given how busy they are.
Biggest regret shopping here
Bought a videocard, video card failed after 3 months, nothing but trouble trying to get a refund. Owner was rude.
Never shopping at this dump again
Great product but it took forever to get it!
We ordered a high end video editing system for me in February last year; (Canberra store). The place looked abandoned, weeds through the concrete on footpath and carpark, half unpacked boxes all over the floor inside. Had to queue for nearly an hour just to talk to them, and observed that the phones routinely rung out because they didn't / wouldn't answer them. Building the computer they said would take two weeks took two months. But I'd use them again, because the price was great and the machine has never skipped a beat, now 16 months old.
Would not refund the sale of a faulty laptop
Horrible service at Altona North store.Rude service.Would not refund an Asus laptop which had a faulty keyboard. Screen shuts down intermetently and I was told that it was my applications causing the fault. How terrible is that, I had only mc afee and office installed within 2 weeks.
The sent it to Asus for repair and I didn't hear from MSY for about a month. They are now planning a replacement which I believe will be another doggie deal.
I would never advise anyone to buy laptops from MSY. Stay away from them.
Start off cheap, terrible service, now more expensive and same [censored word removed] service
Was cheap, service always terrible, now creeping up all there prices. Horrible to support this style of store, we are turning into 3rd world country, bad vibes off the staff, only answer the phone once on a blue moon, zero service, have to line up to return something faulty, takes an hour, too hard in lunch break.
Good if nothing ever goes wrong, but with computers its common for [censored word removed] to need replacing
Greedy store, horrible service, pack of theifs
They just lost a $1000 order for being rude to me
MSY used to be ok. They were cheap, but the service has always been pretty bad. Now it's worse.
Case in point: I just place an order for $900 worth of parts. I realised that I had not added Windows OEM. I placed another order for the software (the orders even had consecutive numbers), yet I still get an email back from them (with no greeting at the beginning or even name of the person who wrote it) telling me I needed to order RAM or an HDD etc. Less than a minute before this email they had sent me another one telling me my other stuff was r...eady for pick up, complete with HDD, motherboard... Now this was really only a minor irritation compared to what happened next. I sent them an email saying that I would be BPAYing them and the time I would be doing it. The (once again) anonymous 'customer service' representative told me they didn't have a biller code so "I don't know how that is going to work." Great idea. Stick it up the customer with the $1000 order. Make him feel like an idiot for accidently typing 'BPAY' instead of 'direct deposit'. A one line email from an anonymous 'customer service' representative. My response?
I bought a computer from them 19 months ago - fyshwick (ACT) - they replaced faulty cpu fan and fixed startup problem no problems (they didn't charge me, and I was fully prepared to pay) - very courteous over the phone. I couldn't be happier. When I bought I did not expect much service since their margins must be very thin given their low prices. On saturday morning people queue up outside their shop when it opens and there is generally a bit of good natured joking about the waiting times - but the rest of the operation is good.
Great price, good quick repair, courteous staff
Queue at opening time on saturdays
