Glass in doors and a window
My antique doors fitted the specified safety glass. Hopefully no more storm damage at least this year. Paul did a great job and not many young guys have his putty skills.
Very fast and efficient.
Came quickly and put in new glass. Just what I needed. Price was lower than I was expecting was a bonus. Only let down by the new computer system, but this is not the tradesman's fault.
O'Brien's for glass.
O'Briens Glass was very helpful, courteous, and prompt in fixing a broken window. I can highly recommend their business. They would be the only company I call for any type of glass repair or fixture.
One of our glass pool fence panels exploded and it also damaged the one next to it. Suncorp insurance arranged for O'Brien to repair it and they were fantastic. The whole process from coming out to assess the damage to installation was quick and stress free. The staff we dealt with were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend and use O'Brien again.
Careless repair- Left glass shards everywhere including in child's bed, no clean up, mismatched glass repair.
Careless repair- the glass and surrounds don't match, not even an attempt to make it look the same. The repairman left glass shards everywhere including in child's bed which was near the window and everywhere around the window including in the frame which cant be cleaned easily.

Never completed job and took custom beading which I cannot replace
1) OBrien were sent out by GIO Insurance, not by my recommendation as OBrien had already failed to quote on my job prior to insurance getting involved. The job was to fix a window on a custom arched timber window.
They then tried to come out on a different day to what was agreed with GIO, called the wrong person and went to the wrong address. Would have been funny if it didn't cause significant delays and disruption to sort them out and get them to the right address. How they can't get a date, time and address right is beyond my understanding. ...
Unethical, underquoting, unbelievable
We had a broken window and called O'Brien to get it fixed on the weekend of 16/17th November. They offered an emergency and a standard rate. We took the standard rate, they couldn't get someone in until 21/11 -- fair enough. On 21/11 they cancel, but offer to send someone around to board the window up, which we accepted, and they rescheduled until 25/11. On 25/11 they repaired the window and they charged my fiance over $300 above what was initially quoted for an 'emergency rate'. Imaging waiting nearly 10 days to have a window repaired, after ...discussing a standard rate and paying a deposit, then being charged extortionate emergency rates. The customer service provider on the phone essentially said it was always an emergency rate, and that we were told that the boarding of the window would accrue a cost (we were not). Imagine waiting a week, then being cancelled on, then being ripped off for an 'emergency' on the 10 day reschedule, then being rudely accused of lying on the phone. This is the first company review I've ever written, however our treatment by O'Brien was so atrocious that I've been motivated to write this. To anyone reading, I highly recommend going with a local non-corporate tradesperson who provides accurate quotes and doesn't underquote or engage in unethical or otherwise duplicitous behaviour.
Quote one price over the phone, charge much more after job completed.
I was quoted $430 with the measurements I gave over the phone for a single glass panel. Once job was completed I was then charged $770. I complained, and company said that they would look into it and call me the next day, however they never did. I’ll never use their services again, and will make sure to tell as many people I can to do the same.
They were efficient friendly very professional. They made it very easy to have done. Spot on with completion time. The staff on the counter were extremely help also. Definitely would recommend to anyone to go through O’Brien
rediculous system for quoting
Called to arrange a quote to repair/replace a shop front window. I explained it is an insurance claim. The customer service operator requested from me the demensions of the shop front window wwhich was damaged. I could not provide this as I was calling from another location and my staff don't have a tape measure at the location. I explained this and the response was we need a size to quote over the phone first! She also continued to advise me that they also need a claim number. I can't give a claim number, I explained, until I have a quote to ...provide to the insurance company.. This level of service is well below standard being extremely unhelpful and unrealistic as they won't go out to quote at all without these details. I did however receive a quote from them via email with the dementions 1/10th of the size I guessed over the phone. So the quote is useless anyway. If this is type of questioning and requirements is the standard policy and procedure of O'Brien glass I will definately not be recommending them to anyone
Fast, friendly and efficient service
Contacted O'Brien with a cracked windscreen. They were able to arrange a technician to attend our workplace the next morning. Very convenient, friendly staff and excellent service. Nice to see out of the windscreen again - highly recommend!
