remains unresolved. I also engaged ProductReview’s mediation process; however, after two days there has been no response from O’Brien Glass.

As the issue is still unresolved and mediation has not progressed, I am now pursuing formal avenues to have the matter addressed.

Fast Response, Quality Work – I don't often give reviews and I rarely give five stars. But I am compelled to do so. measured and replaced within 30 minutes. It was in a fairly inaccessible spot. But the technician was able to fix it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised at getting an appointment on the same day. The technician was efficient and even jovial about the predicament. So I thoroughly recommend O'Brien to anyone with a breakage.

The cannot book a job, no idea of communication to customers, was not told that we needed to organise a power point isolation, got that job at last dome at last minute then they cancelled the job and did not show . window. I was told they were travelling from Melbourne (not sure why there is not a local Geelong-based person) and I was not advised there would be a fee for shuttering and what that fee would be.

It was explained to me that it would take around 5-10 days for my glass to be prepared for fitting.

I was not contacted by anyone until I received a QUOTE on 14/11 which included excessive charges (that I was not advised of in my original call) These charges were: $1299.20 - glazing $730.80 - shuttering $596.00 - Labour Plus GST.

I declined this quote and received an invoice for the shuttering.

It is unreasonable to expect customers to pay for items they have not committed to under any circumstance.

Had I been advised of the excessive nature of these services I would have chosen not to have emergency shuttering.

Don’t call O’Briens for skylight repair – Called O’Briens in Sydney for repair of a broken skylight on a 2 storey house. scaffolding (for which he quoted a minimum of $4000 not counting the repair!). He wanted to get further advice and said he would get back to me. I have still not heard from them, and it was pretty clear he was not interested in doing this kind of job. It would have saved a lot of time if someone could have told me that on the basis of the photos I was asked to upload. I accepted a quote from another company who used a ladder to access the roof, and did a great job for $3000 all up.

Terrible. No-showed twice then ghosted – Failed to show up for a quote twice. Then never received a call back. Friendly Staff Doesn't Get Your Window Fixed – Engaged O'brien Glass after a home break & enter. They sent someone to secure the property that evening ($700 < 1hr). While when you speak to staff they are friendly (they get the 1 star), unfortunately that doesn't get your window repaired. as they can't do it. I head to Dowell Windows Bayswater & they fix the sliding pane & damaged frame on the spot. Then organised a glazier to fix the fixed pane & I had it sorted in a few days for about a 1/3 of the cost of O'briens quote.

The amount of time being on hold with O'briens over the 6 weeks totaled in the hours, as their "leave your number & you'll retain your place in the queue" doesn't happen 50% of the time, so if you want to make sure you speak to someone, you need to stay on hold & that can be up to 30 mins.

I told them of my complete dissatisfaction & hours of my time spent trying to get a simple repair done & Zac agreed & said all they could do is discount the already exorbitant emergency repair by 20%.

Next time I'd just use a small independent.

Inefficient and poor communication - do not use them (SA Adelaide) – The organization of the company in Adelaide is hopeless. tinting so the films would match. “No” they said, because they use their own tinting people and they would try their best to match. I made a complaint about this with my insurance company. The efficiency in the Adelaide branch is very poor. I used O’Brien in Queensland (Gold Coast) once and they were very good and efficient, and well organised. Not sure which franchise in Adelaide did my job, as there was no mentioning of a franchise name. All their emails were “no reply” emails.

Pity can’t give them zero stars – We had a toughened glass door break early am Sunday. The wife rang O’Briens emergency number and the woman who took the call said it’s a $400 emergency call out fee and the total would be $2000, and no one could come till Wednesday and only then would they measure it and board it up.wife said the house isn’t secure but the woman didn’t care. can an emergency service not turn up for 4 days and then still charge an emergency call out fee. I used to work for them did my apprenticeship with them and they never did bad customer service like that, they always had glaziers on call to board up and make secure. We ended up getting a local glazier come out at an hours notice he removed, replaced glass and new rubber plus left the place spotless for only $400. I’ll never use O’Briens glass ever again.

Poor service and no commitment – I booked for a house window replacement and was told that it will be done in 4 days as they were busy with the storm issues. I waited till Monday and was given a quote of $260 deposit and i did tell the operator that it is an arch window and gave them 2 measurements of height and length. at 1.30pm and as soon as he saw the window, he said that O'brien did not tell him that it was an arch window and it would take him longer than an hour ti fix as they only allotted for one hours work! I rang O'brien and asked why is the driver not wanting to do the job, and all i Was offered that they would have to come back another day and requote the job. If you ring a company and they quote you a certain amount after giving them all the information (arch window) and accept a deposit, they should honor this commitment. It took the driver 20 minutes to come to my place, and then he sat in his truck for another 30 minutes ,waiting for O'brien to confirm the job and he was told it was a square window and he wouldn't stat until Obrien confirmed it. There is a waste of 50 minutes for this driver! as i told the driver that i wouldn't have given the operator the width and length for a square window! All I got from their planner was that they have to requote and come another day to do the job! You committed to the job for $260, do the job and have a word with your untrained operators and your planner about getting the right information to your driver. Why should the customer have to put up with this kind of treatment. The planner was rude and couldn't care about the customer and had the attitude if you don't like it get your money back. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They should have done what I suggested and have my job done as the driver was just sitting in his truck and if he is running , cancel the last job he was booked to do and solve your in house training at your expense and not the customers!!! bad attitude, poor service and not sticking to their commitments and refunding is not the answer!!! Told them it was done by another but still they try to book me again to do a job that someone else did. Poor service and excuses and will never use their services for anything.
