which made it impractical to use with standard dining chairs. I raised this concern expecting a reasonable resolution, however the process was frustrating, slow, and ultimately unsuccessful. They asked me to return the chairs within 5 business days, which I explained would not be possible as a shift worker. I was also told that the configuration of 1 chair per side is the intended use, which you can see is completely impractical and they ultimately told me the return within 5 days was my only option.
Despite multiple conversations, the proposed solutions did not properly address the issue. I was left feeling unheard and without a practical outcome. In the end, I had no choice but to organise and pay for a carpenter myself to extend the table legs so the table could be used as intended. Finally- after 3 months I have a functioning table at my own expense.
For a product at this price point, customers should not need to arrange their own modifications just to make it functional. The experience has been disappointing and stressful, and it has significantly impacted my confidence in both the product quality and after-sales support. I fear future customers will have the same problem but they have no changed anything despite my feedback.
I would not recommend purchasing large furniture items from Oz Design based on this experience

the 2.5 seater - it looks terrible, worse than a $400 couch. In addition with one hour of sitting, there is a dent on the chaise side of the section as there isn’t enough foam or paddding on the seat. I raised the concern literally day it arrived with so many photos and 2 weeks later have no resolution. Customer care are going in circles stating there is no defect and that the foam will settle over time and hence they can’t do anything under warranty. What is the point of selling all these perks when you will not let Customer use this warranty? . Even if it does expand it’s clearly never going to sit flush and looks really bad - no couch with chaise ever looks like this and I’ve owned couches with chaises literally for 20 years and never had this issue. I can see this is exactly what they’re advising other customers too and not willing to take responsibility.. I’ve been highly stressed specially as the customer care keeps pushing back and and now are asking me to pay a $150 call out fee to inspect a fault!! This has gone to another level that instead of solving my problem they want me to pay for call out.. I waited one month for this couch and I’m in tears with the money that is being wasted here.

I’ve been asking them to swap the couch for me and there’s simply no accountability or empathy in their emails. I would never buy from this company. I will be prepared to escalate this matter, not only due to the defect and a faulty product that they won’t exchange, but their responses have been in empathetic and simply passing the buck on. Ive also requested for my matter to be escalated to someone more senior.
I simply want it replaced I wasn’t even asking for a refund. I’m so stressed right now and don’t have a place to sit as I don’t want to touch their couch so it’s so inconvenient. Seriously this was their chance to regain me as a customer but I’m deeply distressed with this experience. I don’t have that kind of money in my life for this to be wasted.

communicating when they were arriving and did a good job but $119 did seem a lot when we are only 8kms from Coffs . When looking at furniture companies in Grafton their delivery fees were $80-$90 (76 kms).
There was a lot of packaging but the goods were in pristine condition. The bed and bedside drawers were easy to assemble. The overall quality of the bedroom furniture is excellent. We are very happy with the finish and the look of the bedroom.

holes in the fabric, damaged legs. This was not a minor defect — it was unacceptable and should have been fully refunded. We immediately contacted Oz Design. The response? Slow, and utterly unhelpful. After weeks of going back and forth and getting nowhere, I had no choice but to lodge a formal complaint through Fair Trading. Only then did Oz Design reluctantly agree to repair the lounge — not replace it or refund the full amount, as I had requested multiple times.
Now it’s AUGUST. Eight months since purchase. Four months since delivery. My elderly mother is still waiting for this matter to be sorted. In the past few weeks alone, we’ve been told twice about yet another “short delay,” with no timeframe and no genuine explanation — just impersonal emails that make it clear they expect us to simply wait in silence.
The emotional toll on my mother has been enormous. At 85, she deserved to enjoy her new lounge, not spend months chasing a big-name furniture company for basic decency. The stress and disappointment have been damaging to her wellbeing, and that’s something Oz Design can’t repair.
When you pay premium prices, you expect premium quality and premium service. Oz Design has failed on all counts. I strongly urge others: DO NOT buy from Oz Design. Check the fine print, because refunds are not their priority. I will never shop here again, and I will never recommend them.

that of all the major purchases in my life that I've made, none have disappointed me quite as much as this Stratton couch.
The design is great. The sturdiness and craftsmanship seems reasonable. But, its the material and the fabric that is absolutely appalling. As you can see from the images attached, the fabric is now revolting. Within 6 weeks, the fabric pilled all over, and within 3 months, it started turning gray and brown in the area that i sat. My son has had a few spills on the couch, but nothing unusual or that you wouldn't expect in modern life, yet, this couch fabric is so cheap and so lacking in any hardiness that it should NEVER have been used for a couch, and for the wear and tear it would need to sustain.
I purchased the stain warranty at the time. I have used the service twice, and both times i have been very disappointed with the results. I used their scotch-guard protection agent. I used their advanced stain removal kits, and nothing worked.
When i signed up to the warranty - i made sure to note that there were effectively no conditions or terms on claiming for a stain to be cleaned. The pamphlet provided had no further information or longer terms, or reasons to decline the stains, and yet, when it comes time to put in a claim, the warranty company do everything in their power to obfuscate or deny the claim, or the stain removal.
I have tried reaching out to Oz Design to provide my feedback, but unfortunately there website contact us form is broken and does not allow you to post.
So for anyone considering spending $2000 or more on an OZ Design couch: don't. Its that simple.
There is no world in which this poor quality of fabric should be anywhere near a couch. It is not suitable, and you will need to buy a new couch within 12 months. This should NEVER have passed quality control or testing. You can clearly see the poor state of the fabric. It is sagging. Loose. Lifeless in colour and filled with stains and discolouration.
So please - choose another brand that takes more care in the types of fabrics they use on their couches, and do not buy an OZ Design couch until they rectify these major defects in their fabrics.

disappeared the moment the lounge finally arrived.
The brand‑new lounge was dirty in at least seven different places, with multiple visible marks. When I contacted the store, instead of apologising or offering a solution, they told me to try cleaning the marks myself because I had purchased their $200 fabric cleaner. No customer should be expected to clean a brand‑new piece of furniture that is supposed to arrive spotless.
It then took months for the manufacturer to come out, because they weren’t available during the times I was. And when they eventually arrived, it wasn’t for an inspection — they showed up with spray-and-wipe in hand, ready to scrub the brand‑new lounge. I declined, especially since I have two young children who sit on it daily. I also raised concerns about loose threads throughout the lounge, which the technician simply pulled and cut off with scissors.
His attitude was extremely dismissive. He even said the lounge looked dirty because of my lighting and that it would “get dirty over time anyway,” which is completely unprofessional. He assured me he would pass my concerns on to management and get back to me — instead, I just received an email stating they wouldn’t do anything.
To add to the negative experience, the technician made a completely unnecessary comment to my three‑year‑old, saying “ain’t you too big for a pacifier?” This was inappropriate and uncalled for.
Overall, I’m extremely disappointed that an Australian company would treat customers this way. From the quality of the product to the customer service, the entire experience has been frustrating and dismissive. Be warned when dealing with this company.
Follow-up · Were other customisations correct? Yes there were. How long was the wait? Wait time for delivery 4 weeks as it was their quiet season, wait time to review my complaint 3 months. What kind of marks were they? Dirt marks / stains on almost every corner.

who agreed that the level of wear seemed excessive for its age. The company decided that it was "acceptable wear and tear" and refused to do anything about it. I now have a lounge that, after two years, is uncomfortable and looks old and saggy. If they consider this 'normal' then their products are obviously of a poor standard to begin with. I would strongly recommend AGAINST purchasing furniture from this company, both for the quality of the product and their after sales service.
Follow-up · The lounge is the Loft model in Faye white. Has been cared for as per instructions. The cover is not the issue, the actual lounge structure is the problem. Oz Design dud contact me after this review, however they did not offer any solution. My assessment of their product and service remains the same, and I would strongly recommend against purchasing furniture from them, this particular model anyway.

Second, not having a table I rushed to purchase a Dawes dining table from clearance. Despite being reassured fragile handling standard, the table was poorly damaged by Oz Design’s right before delivery. Oz Design admitted in writing that this was a major failure (again!).
I requested a replacement, which was available, and the ACCC confirmed that under Australian Consumer Law, for a major failure, the consumer chooses the remedy. .
I was once more left high and dry with Oz Design REFUSING the replacement, arguing they could not “match the scratches” (minor).
This is an absurd position and not how Australian Consumer Law works. Clearance items are not excluded from consumer guarantees, and for a major failure the consumer chooses the remedy. Instead, Oz Design forced a refund otherwise putting claim on hold effectively stalling while I was left without a dining table after weeks of disruption.
This shows a concerning pattern of misrepresentation, careless handling, and deliberate minimisation of responsibility, doing the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM to close the case rather than provide areasonable resolution. ESPECIALLY after i experienced TWO major failures in a row.
Overall, this was an excruciating and despicable customer experience.

When we asked we were told it was from Oz Design. On our return trip on 18th December we called into Ballina Oz Design and saw the table marked at $1719 and the 130cm Mango Creek coffee table marked at. $1219. We didn’t want to buy the item/s from Ballina preferring to buy from our Coffs Harbour store so didn’t take up the offer of assistance from the salesperson at Ballina. Later that same day we called into our Coffs Harbour store ready to buy one or both of these items and were shocked to see the same items marked at considerably higher prices. Although the company states that the prices are the same company wide. 130cm and Root Console table was marked at $1819 in Coffs Harbour Likewise the 130 cm Mango coffee table which was marked as $1319 in Coffs
On seeing the difference in prices my husband became angry and said the company was ripping off Coffs Harbour people and he would look to purchase a similar item somewhere else in town. I really liked both of the mentioned items mentioned however I agree that it is totally unfair that battlers from Coffs should be charged more than people from the wealthier residents of Ballina and Byron Bay.

assist & I was to email their generic ‘customer support’ email. The store staff & online support team were both as useless & as unhelpful as one another..
After countless emails, OzDesign finally arranged a ‘sofa technician’ to come out, inspect the lounge received & compare this with the lounge in store. They then prepared a report outlining all the inconsistency & quality flaws between the two & issued this to OzDesign.
OzDesign refused to take accountability or acknowledge that the items received don’t match what’s on display or what’s advertised - items received are dodgy/cheap/knockoff’s & nothing like those on display in store!
I’m now stuck with a $3.5k+ lounge that has rock-hard block foam in the cushions, legs that don’t reach the ground and cushion covers of differing sizes.. it is nothing like the soft/comfortable foam used in the display lounge, where the cushion covers are all consistently sized & all feet touch the ground as on display
OzDesign have made no attempt to resolve this - either offering a refund, offering to replace the lounges in their entirety or even just the offer to replace the cushions with the quality of those in store..

I purchased 8 Hayes dining chairs, including 2 Carver chairs. They are very well built and good quality. The colour of the leather blends so well with the dining table as well as other furniture and designs around it.
