I purchased the Mitchell sofa to be collected from the kotara store. On unwrapping I found damage to the lounge by way of a stain and damage to the foam. As I collected the lounge and did not pay the $200 delivery fee I am ineligible for warranty. They offered $50 in refund to compensate. assist & I was to email their generic ‘customer support’ email. The store staff & online support team were both as useless & as unhelpful as one another..
After countless emails, OzDesign finally arranged a ‘sofa technician’ to come out, inspect the lounge received & compare this with the lounge in store. They then prepared a report outlining all the inconsistency & quality flaws between the two & issued this to OzDesign.
OzDesign refused to take accountability or acknowledge that the items received don’t match what’s on display or what’s advertised - items received are dodgy/cheap/knockoff’s & nothing like those on display in store!
I’m now stuck with a $3.5k+ lounge that has rock-hard block foam in the cushions, legs that don’t reach the ground and cushion covers of differing sizes.. it is nothing like the soft/comfortable foam used in the display lounge, where the cushion covers are all consistently sized & all feet touch the ground as on display
OzDesign have made no attempt to resolve this - either offering a refund, offering to replace the lounges in their entirety or even just the offer to replace the cushions with the quality of those in store..
Rubbish - don’t purchase from these thieves!!

Good products, delivery delays & hassles – We spent a large sum on a dining suite and lounge suite. At the time of the sale we were advised that the items would be available for delivery in 3-5 weeks. Actual delivery was 8 weeks and only after many phone calls to chase them. When finally delivered I had to use a hammer to bend the leg bracket into shape to be able to bolt the legs to the top. Show details
Zero Customer Care with Customer Care – On 11 September, I purchased 8 x Megs Wishbone Chairs in white. Due to availability there were 5 which would be available sooner and then had to wait for the further 3 in the next shipment. I emailed Oz Design Kotara on 29 October to say I wasn’t happy with the chairs and they explained I would have to contact Customer Care.
We then collected the other 3 chairs on 4 November to find 1 was split and the other 2 had imperfections.
After multiple photos of the chairs; Customer Care agreed to replace 4 and gave us a discount of $122 for the other 4 which we were not happy with. The other option was to take the 4 chairs and $200 store credit which was not an option as I will never shop at Oz Design again after this experience.
We received a message on 23 November to say our order was ready to collect from Kotara. I emailed Customer Care to ask if the chairs would be checked before we collected them which they said they would be in an earlier email. They advised they would ask the store and I haven’t heard from Customer Care since!
My husband and I went into the store on 29 November to find out what was happening. They had checked the chairs and were not happy with 1 of them. I checked the other 3 and I wasn’t happy with another so out of the 4 we took 2 of the replacements.
To date out of 12 chairs we have 6 that we have accepted.
On morning of 30 November I had, had enough so emailed Customer Care to say I was done and would be returning the remaining 2 damaged chairs and would like a refund for them. We are certainly not willing to wait longer for 2 chairs that may or may not be damaged at the end of the wait.
I took the chairs to the store and was advised I needed Customer Cares approval to receive my refund. I left the chairs in the store. I phoned Customer Care from the carpark and was told they couldn’t help and I would have to wait for a response by email. I advised my Case Manager I had returned the chairs and would like my refund.
On 1 December I emailed the general Customer Care email to follow up as no response from my Case Manager email. Still no response.
On Thursday 2 December I emailed the Kotara Store to be told they had been in correspondence with Customer Care and Customer Care would be in touch shortly.
3 December and I still haven’t received a response, or even an acknowledgement, from Customer Care.
Growing more frustrated by the day.
Tuesday 7 December, 1 week after returning the chairs to the store and not hearing from Customer Care, I emailed my case manager and the general customer care email and a few hours later I got a response from my case manager to say they were finalising the refund paperwork.
I emailed again on Wednesday 8 December to check on timing and it was with accounts. I have now received my refund for the two chairs and case is closed.
I am happy to have this resolved. However, I won’t be shopping at Oz Design again in the future.

Perfect piece for our paradise – We love our new lounges, they are the perfect addition to our new home. We have been able to utilise the sofa bed with guests with glowing reviews and the tan colours blend beautifully with timber flooring. Proudly australian made and quick efficient delivery. only do before 1pm that day, so would prefer a early timeslot, they said they will make a note for the booking team. Was given 11-2pm. Delivery arrived at 2.30pm, so had to make last minute plan changes.
Assembly of legs onto the units was very difficult, as both buffet and TV unit were extremely heavy. Was advised instore that buffet would already have the legs attached, they weren't. Deliveryman was nice enough to help be turn the upside-down down, so I could attach the legs, but still had to get the units turned over myself.

Furniture are sturdy and good quality – Even tho the furniture is really great and have good customer service and delivery. There was a hall table for sale with teak tree root base. We asked if we can take the display same day or delivery and the shop said no and said that would be no warranty. we turn up to the shop and that ‘display’ table is gone. The very next Wednesday they delivered the ‘exact’ same table. Seriously, why even lie about it. All tree root products won’t looks the same but this was the very same piece.
Very happy with my OZ Furniture – I love my new furniture. My Houston lounge is the perfect colour and design for the room and the TV unit fits perfectly with my existing furniture.
