Ozito PXCLTK-218 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: PXCLTK-218Does Ozito have metal blades for trimmers
Can you buy the a replacement guard I have 2 of these and both guards have come off? Other than that I find these units to be amazing for me needs.
Can you put metal blades on a oztio wiper snipper The plastic ones are useless
Can you replace the blade head on the PXCLTK-218. For a cord trimmer hed
Far I'm aware no. If you have the PXCLTK-218 you have to use it's replaceable nylon blades.
I'll admit the blades need replacing a lot more then a cord would in my experience. Not just getting blunt quicker but constantly coming off.
Can you put a metal brush cutter blade on model pxclts 018 grass trimmer
I dont think so. They have special red plastic trimmers that last quite a while and are very easy to install.
Should l have to purchase extra spiner plate & blades for my new PXCLTK trimmer.
Why not have replacement spindle plates? I wore the blade attachment down. Whole unit replaced under warrantee but seems a bit wasteful.
To wear out the blade base you must have used it a lot and used many blades? This machine is clearly for light duty only and you need to ensure the plastic cutting blades only touch grass , nothing solid or else they will snap off.
I wore one out too.. But it took a long time.. I made up up a dodgy head out of a breadboard and a bolt. . It lasted quite a while. But the machine ultimately died.. But it did a lot of work before it did.
Can I take out the screw thingy that holds the plastic blade. Hopefully it should leave a hole and I'll thread a plastic tie. Apparently this works a treat. Very very poor design. What a waste of a good machine.
Hello. Does anyone know of any substitute metal blades we could use instead of the red plastic ones on the grass trimmers? I noticed a different brand does metal have blades , but not sure if same size blade . Also saw metal brush heads online, but not sure if compatible with this device.
have the blades been fixed? was looking to buy but negative blade reviews are stopping me. Need it for 2 bed unit grounds
Is it possible to put a metal blade on this device? If so, which blade would you recommend?
how can I stop the plastic cutting blades from flying off my Ozito grass trimmer . I cant get my garden edges done .......Trish
I use mine in Bushland where the many sticks and branches often send the blade flying to places unfound. Adjusting the cutting head angle and improving my technique reduced the "flying off" frequency and it really does only take a moment to put the blade back on if it can be found! I did try drilling a hole in the blade and attaching it to the spindle with fishing line but that had other issues!
I like the way the red blades are easy to replace and cut well until the friction of the blade moving around the spindle melts the blade and then the blade falls off. Initially takes say 5 minutes to fly off the spindle but then because the metal spindle is hot, it only takes a minute or so for the next blade to fly off. Ideally I would like Ozito to have a better designed spindle plate and blade system but untill they do it I cannot recommend this product.
Not a question, a statement. ALL of these reviews are of the trimmer PXCLTS-018 Or PXCLTK-018. The PCXLTS (or K) - 218 uses nylon lines not blades. Please remedy this error.
Remedy what error!! I was giving a review on the PXCLTS 018 which uses useless plastic blades.
How to replace the plastic blade I have mislaid my instruction book.
Don't worry. Just take the whole thing back for a refund. The new replacement blades are rubbish ( not like the old ones). They chip, break,. shatter and fall off.
My packet of blades are OK! Battery lasts a long time!
Can the cutter head be changed from the useless plastic blades to nylon string. Should not be too much trouble.
When will you change the crapp blades back to the original less brittle blade ?? Haven't read the reviews. Next week if no satisfactory answer I will return grass trimmer for a full refund. Rob
I finally, accidentally met the ozito rep and he told me that I have a bad batch (I have tried 3 different batches). He also said I need to cut from left to right or the blades will break. I told him it was complete crap and I will return everything for a refund. He also had not read all the numerous bad reviews on the website. They do not care.
Mine is fine!
Not sure if my question/ complaint was received . This concerned the blades on my PXCLTK-218 grass trimmer not even giving me Approx 2 mins. Cutting time before flying off. The fitting appears to be very loose now, which it wasn’t when purchased mid 1017. I’ve been more than happy with this product until recently, please give me a suggestion to remedy this problem other than returning it for a refund . I would like to support and Australian company and hope I’m not going to have to resort to and imported product. Answer please. Kay lonergan.
I went back to Bunnings and asked if they had had any complaints about the short life of blades (Some broke off without even cutting any grass) which they claimed they hadn't. They suggested I may have had a bad batch and gave me a free packet. Alas these too perhaps not as bad as the first but soon break. And the flat profile blades tend to grab onto thick grass and dig into the ground which further shortens their life. I'm not happy with this machine the battery is different than my other Ozito tools and the cheap charger takes forever to charge it.
Mine charges all the batteries in a couple of hours.
The packet of blades are OK too. Except some weeds wrap around the shaft all the way round tightly!
Battery lasts a fair while have used for around an hour and it still has go, but slows down they charge pretty quickly as well so you will have plenty of time for blade changing, any ideas?
I usually pick an area to work, like front yard, backyard or in the 200m sq garden. I find I get tired before the battery slows. Changing blades takes less than a minute. Due to arthritis in my thumbs, I carry small pliers & a few blades. After trimming an area, I do others tasks for a while around it, like pulling weeds, trimming trees/ bushes etc. While doing that the battery recharges. If you find your battery slowing to soon, maybe a second battery would help. I had an Ozito drill for 10yrs & the battery still held charge like new.
How long does the battery last 4.0ah and 1.5ah ozito Model?
I actually got the 2.0a/h battery with my kit. I have used it for over an hour of very heavy work for a small unit. I have been amazed what it can do, the blade means it doesn't bog down as much as line trimmers do. I cleared about 10m sq or weed covered pavers & another 5-6m sq of half metre high weeds. Not counting multiple random bad areas. The 200m sq garden had been neglected for 8 months.
