Why does the display show "H98" when I try to set it?

I’ve had the machine for many years. I’ve used it for everything each day. That’s not something I have ever come across. I will try to find the original instructions online to see if it’s an error code. In the meantime, I suspect a fault. I would contact the company.

Okay, I’ve searched the web. Comes up as H98 - magnetron no oscillation Error.

You will need the assistance of qualified personnel. I hope it all works out for you.

What is the wattage of medium power setting, does anyone know ? Thanks

On Microwave mode it is 950 Watts and if all convection and grill heaters chosen it is 1950 watts. This is inverter type of MW oven so as per low medium and high selection Power reduces almost linearly. It does not have max power ON/ OFF duty cycle as seen in conventional MW oven.

So, on medium power setting wattage should be around 500 Watts.

Oven temperature does not get above 150c with thermostat set at 300c. Have to move items in microwave until microwave function will start.

I don't think I've ever done anything at 300c but have gone up to 230 (cakes and roasts) and it seems to do that just fine. Judging from the reviews it looks like QC for this oven is not great and if you get a bad one, various things break down. Mine has always been functional, touch wood...

My Pansonic NNCS596S is 18 months old and a hole has melted through the base of the oven! I have looked everywhere and cannot find how long the warranty is for this oven. At the price I would expect more than 1 1/2 years out of it.

Hi I bought one about 18 months ago and a hole appeared in the bottom as well. I rang Panasonic several times and they said it was probably a small piece of food that had not been cleaned off. I disputed that and they said I could take it to one of their repairers and pay $100 which I have not done. Did you have any success. I was going to go to the ombudsman but have not yet. Are you interested in following this up as I paid nearly 1000 dollars for it

I have the same oven Panasonic NN-CS596S it's 3 years old and there is now a hole in the base too. It looks like it has melted through, and large enough for me to put my thumb into it. Called Panasonic repair agent AWA here in Perth, they can't give me a quote to fix until I bring it to them with a "to look" fee of $60. I thought they might have an idea as it probably isn't the first time they'd have had to fix this. If you have any solution, please email me on papineaus@bigpond.com thanks

I took mine to the local repair bloke (country Victoria), usually very helpful. He said it wasn't worth fixing, as it would cost more than it was worth to pull it to bits to find the fault. I gave up and bought a simple miccrowave as I now have a proper convection oven, whereas I was making do in rented accommodation when I bought the Panasonic. Panasonic were absolutely NO HELP.

Yes! i paid nearly $1,000 just last 2 years + only! I would expect more than 3 years warranty! I rang Panasonic but the customer service was very unfriendly, they even said welcome me to lodge the complaint to fair trading! so i will lodge in this weekend. Panasonic is HOPELESS!
