Peoples choice for now... I went to another banks atm and was unable to withdraw I returned to Peoples choice and another nice lady helped me. She had to log in again and change details... I refuse to deal with [Name Removed] again. I told him I might as well change to another bank and he said THATS YOUR CHOICE....

Faulty ATM machine, swallowed a deposit with no credit to the account. Had to attend the local branch and they agreed to credit the monies. A follow up was received stating the matter will be investigated with fees and charges possibly applicable. Very insulated as a copy of the atm slip stating it was technical error was supplied to the branch. Despite several follows by phone and branch attendance, no one has bothered to return the call.

on a aged pension ,and work as a government employee with a contract ,would it be possible to get a small personal loan ,as I have no debt own everything and have been banking with people’s choice .so went for an interview and basically was declined and was told I would have to wait 12 months with no real reason only that’s our policy.I have recently had full Govt Medical and in great shape for a 69 year old ,been living same residence 10years own everything owe nothing but People’s choice couldn’t help me what a joke ,I will be withdrawing my savings it was a waste of my time my experience with the two female staff members were great .but the first guy had no idea .

debt (not something I would Have done but it is her money). We spoke to (a child,) [Name Removed], who clearly has no understanding of the elderly and how to deal with them. Mum also wanted to make me a signatory to her account given the fact that she can no longer get to the bank. [Name Removed] managed to confuse her totally by talking about other products that might be more suitable for her rather than focusing on what she wanted to do . My mother is not senile but can get confused if someone jumps from one topic to another. They made my mother feel like an imb#cile and me like someone who was trying to take advantage of her. After about an hour and constantly consulting with his supervisor, the supervisor came across. They eventually agreed to transfer my mothers money to my brother as requested.. They would not admit me as a signitory so now I am force to take out a Power of Attorney which will mean that I will have to drag my mother out again so she can sign in front of a JP when actually she can make her own decisions with some help )and when I do I will close her and my accounts. It is her money. She has a right to do with it as she wants. She is 91 years old, doesn't have a mobile phone, or the internet or internet banking and can't walk or drive. Thanks so much for such a lack of compassion and understanding and making us both feel terrible.
Follow-up · As a result of my experience I had to apply for an enduring power of attorney. This was lodged with People's Choice. 3 weeks later have still not heard from them. I rang 10 days after lodgement to be told that it could be some weeks. Mum may have to go into a nursing home so needs funds. She doesn't drive and can barely walk si gas had no access to her money fir 4 weeks. Thus is way past appalling.

Oh wow, substandard staff working in Term Deposits. I have been in the branch 3 times and still had to ring to try to sort out what they said they were going to do and didnt. Yet to be seen if resolved. While they were at it they cancelled my totally unrelatable savings card by accident. Admitted human error and couldnt even express the new card to me. After being with peoples choice for years, I’m actually going to be moving my banking elsewhere. Their cyber protection is non existent. I have had to get several new cards this year after I was the one to find suspect transactions on my statement. After stopping payment I have to actually put in paperwork to get my money back and to top it off, they charge $10 each time for a replacement card! Show details
Long time member. People's choice have gone from clearing a cheque in three days to a very long wait of 7-10 days whether it be personal or a Bank cheque!!! I have a cheque just sitting in my account waiting to be cleared, talk about wasting everyone's time! Most other banks still only take three days.
Quite simply the worst possible option you can make to get a home loan. I would accept a much worse interest rate before I’d ever go anywhere near these people again. I’ve probably applied for a home loan maybe 8 times in my life, and they get the worst lender award, and they romped it home. Show details

branch to sort it out she was lovely and very supportive. We attended the branch I told the staff we was rushed for time as we had an appointment in 30 mins, the staff told someone else our name she grabbed a clip board and walked towards the cubicles she stopped at a cubicle with another staff member working on the computer and started talking to him we waited some time and she wasn't concerned with attending us so we eventually walked out, I put a online complain and received a conformation email and was told someone will call me. No one called me, waited a week I sent a email explaining if they don't care about their customers why should I stay with them told them I'll be closing my accounts, I still have not heard from them. They need to change their logo, because it certainly is not people's choice.

promptly. Some proactive contact from branch to start with and then none. No direct means of communication beyond email with unclear when it might be seen or actioned. Avoid if at all possible.

them more police info. The people in the branch are great to deal with but that's where it stops. We are pensioners. We have all our insurance with them. But not for long. We only have a small amount in this account and won't make any difference to them when we close the account.we are asked to attach an email or other proof that this is genuine. it feels as though the verification process is not being managed efficiently, leading to unnecessary setbacks. These issues have seriously eroded my trust in the credit union, and I am concerned about the overall quality of service. It's disheartening to deal with such an inefficient process, especially when timely communication and professionalism are key in any financial relationship.Morever, they will collect all your financial data, exposing you to potenial scams without provinding a formal outcome of the situation.

told I wouldn't get approved and why bother by the customer service agent. I hung up and went with NAB and got my loan approved within the hour. Everytime I have spoken to these people on the phone I end up getting some judgemental yuppie who forgets that they're working at a call centre as an unskilled phone monkey and not at a massarati dealership. Condescending, rude and unhelpful on every phone call for 13 years. I don't know why I let these people bend me over a barrel when I could have gone to literally any other bank. Now after 2 years of being with NAB I can safely say that this is one South Australian business I will never support again.
Lack of Service – Contacted by their third party fraud detection company. After discussions card cancelled and representative of this company said they would put in an order for a new card. Incompetent – Incompetent, wasted an hour discussing an investment loan to say I couldn't afford a property I could buy outright. Do not chose to bank with this company – Do not apply for anything with this company, was trying to obtain a car loan with them and it took them two months and i was the one chasing up them to finalise. Poor experience – Very poor customer service, reasonably quick to give you a loan but leave you waiting over 6 months to close your account have had three people make me wait weeks for my closure letter and still haven’t received it. Very disappointing

Ill-informed Staff with no compassion – The staff give different information depending on who you speak to. When you are dealing with a family death and have to repeatedly go into a location because THEY have provided wrong information it can break what ever spirit you have left.

As the loan was a “single application”, I provided the bank with my income detail alone, not giving detail of my partner’s income. Yet, they required “single applicant” personal loan application to provide expense and liabilities details as two adults ( including my partner’s )or as all household members such as our full mortgage repayments instead of JUST my share of the 50% of the repayment, AND living expenses of the one other adult within the household instead of JUST my share of 50% of the living expense.
I made it very CLEAR to them that I can generate and prove evidence such as my bank statement that I am the co owner of our home hence the mortgage repayment is shared ,the living expense is also shared between the 2 adults in the households. I am not sure if the bank has been living under the rock but they somehow convinced that other income earner adult’s living expenses and liabilities - not “ dependant” to be clear has to be assessed and listed as my PERSONAL expense. Of course it resulted in unaffordable loan which I was not surprised. Two adults in the same household does not mean I had to use my personal income to cover or spend toward another adult liability and expenses. people’s choice forced me double and listed my all liabilities as two adults for a “single applicant personal loan”. That’s a first. Most importantly, This loan enquiry outcome is assessed before they even see my personal bank statement, saving etc and other relevant documents such of our home loan with 30% LVR. In short, System structure is clearly incompetent. Speechless but glad i dodged a bullet. Anyways, got approved instantly on the same hour after hanging up on them with commonwealth bank. Application with the bank took only 10 min followed by a settlement the following day.
Norwood branch yesterday – You have turned a beautiful credit union in to a madhouse. It's trying to be a cafe, and not successful, staff over whelmed, long queue, nobody in charge with any seniority, no deliniation of work areas so can't hear above the racket. What have you done. Good but could be better – Been with peoples choice for years. Generally happy enough with them until I received a renewal for Home & Contents. I know insurance premiums increase but by almost a 1/3 is not sustainable and never having made any claims. When trying to cancel the renewal, not being a simple quick process.
