Doesn't last on temperature – Started off well and was smooth to use. It did take a while getting used to automatic temperature selection. However the iron now cuts out during ironing. Cannot even finish one item before the blue light starts flashing again and doesn't heat back up. Have done a descale and it comes back to temperature but then turns off to blue flashing again. Too frustrating.  Show details

Disappointed after 3 years – At first I was happy with my Philips PerfectCare Azur. Auto temperature property and strong steam were helping me a lot. Then I realised that after one year that de-calc was not working properly (the amber sign never lit) (It was my laziness to contact the customer service!). And now, after 3 years (and out of warranty), it keeps tripping off… Read more

Extremely disappointed ... and now this iron died just out of warranty – We purchased this iron mid-January 2015, and last night it failed to turn on or heat up. No warning and a couple of months out of warranty. It wasn't dropped or damaged in any way. It has been a failure from the beginning but we've persevered with it due to its cost. It never got hot enough to do a good job on anything heavy, such as jeans or… Read more

cotton drill. Even shirts have needed many passes of the iron to produce a crisp result. Ironing shouldn't be this hard. Further, it will not dry iron ... unless there is water in the tank to make steam, the iron doesn't remain hot. There are some fabrics such as silk and certain sewing activities where a dry iron is necessary and this iron is a complete fail in this regard. Very very disappointed in its performance overall and now so very frustrated it has ceased working at all. An expensive iron should last longer than just the warranty period plus a couple of months. Is this a case of "planned obsolescence"?

Works well – I was sceptical about an iron with no temperature control, but it actually works very well. I used to have to adjust the temperature a lot, because some of my shirts melted and stuck easily, while others were quite a thick cotton that needed high temperature to get the creases out. This iron handles both automatically. I think the people finding it not hot enough probably need to use more steam.  Show reply

Couldn't love an iron more – **** I love this unit. Don't have to adjust any temperatures. I don't burn clothes anymore. From heavy work clothes to soft silks and other fabrics this machine just glides over the clothes. I would highly recommend to anyone. Am now buying one for my daughter who is moving out.  Show reply

Steam Iron with NO Temp Control - Unbelievable stuff, I love it – Philips Perfect Care Azur is a Steam Iron with Optimal Temp Technology which means that it has no Temperature Control and you can keep ironing your clothes without having to worry about burning your clothes by mistake... It works like a charm... In fact it is so Perfect that you cannot burst a balloon with a hot iron... Here are product review… Read more ·  1

Worst iron ever - Philips hotline said to take it up with the retailer! – It's NEVER optimal temp, leaks water on everything, doesn't get creases out of shirts, takes 5 times as long to 'try' and iron your clothes. Waste of money. I tried calling the 1300 number suggested in below reviews and was told I would need the receipt and to take it back to the store I bought it. I've since moved interstate and do not keep… Read more

receipts for small purchases so I'm left with a dud product. I was told it could be replaced under warranty if I had the receipt and went to the store of purchase... clearly by the reviews it's not a store issue or a replacement fix, the product design is just extremely poor. I've got no idea what they tested this thing on to determine it was the 'optimal temp' iron... maybe they should have called it the 'child safe' iron - prevents burns because it's not hot enough to do the job it's intended for.

So much for buying the most expensive iron on the shelf and expecting a good outcome!

BUYER BEWARE....DON'T BUY ONE – I am so over this iron. It doesn't do a good job at all... come to think of it all it does is cost me time ironing over and over again and money spent on an overpriced non performing product. bought this iron in April 2015 and I will be returning it as it is still in the 2 year warranty this being the only upside of the product. My previous iron was a Tefal and I was very happy with it I let myself be swayed by the advertising of the new age steam iron. I have learned from my mistake and I will not make one like this again. My intention is to return this iron and buy a new Tefal.

Disappointed with water leakage – Only use distilled water in our iron due to poor water quality in remote location, after ironing on average 2 items, light starts to pulsate (not blink), iron loses temperature and then starts to leak. Only way to solve is to turn iron off at power wait, turn power back on and start again. Don't have the ability to return to retailer only purchased in Feb.  Show details

NOT RECOMMENDED - AND PHILIPS DON'T CARE – The "Terrible" feedback rating from 37 reviewers is totally accurate. An innovative design (auto temperature) that simply doesn't work. Low temperatures and leaking water prevent this iron from being useable. Contacted Philips today. Blew up 28 days after warrenty expired! – Another appliance with a short warranty that dies conveniently just after the warranty expires. I was ironing four nights ago when I heard two pops from my iron and then that smell of when you accidently put metal in the microwave came out of it. Dead iron. Gone. It was an average iron, definitely not fabulous and I will not buy this model again or Phillips again. Water leaks and need to iron areas several times to get a good result.

Expensive disappointment – I was encouraged by the sales person to purchase this item as it was supposed to be the best iron ever. Sadly I paid top dollar for this disaster of an iron. Water leakage onto clothing, low temperatures resulting in persistence to iron basic poly cotton business shirts which looked like they never were ironed in the first place, oh and the lack of steam. So it is now in the bin. Don't think I will ever buy another Phillips iron.

This is the worst iron I have ever used! – This iron is just useless and I have struggled with it since its purchase. It won't iron out wrinkles from basic fabrics and don't even bother trying to iron cotton or linen. Putting the clothes under my bed to iron out the wrinkles would be as effective. Will never buy a Phillips again. Pity I had to rate it even a one star, however cannot rate it zero it appears.

Leaks Water & Doesn't Iron – I was sceptical about this technology, unfortunately I should have purchased a regular, adjustable heat iron. Aside from taking ages to heat up, then not ironing effectively, it switches off very shortly after being left inactive and then you have to wait AGAIN for it to heat up. Even when it's ready to use & has been ironing several minutes, it… Read more

leaks water over the clothing and sometimes down the handle. This makes me concerned about electrocution as it dribbles to where the cord inserts into the handle. The most frustrating aspect is the time it takes to dry out all the wet patches on the cotton fabric whilst seeming to switch itself off/lose heat. Do not recommend this iron until Philips have the technology functionally effective.

Fortunately the Good Guys really are good about exchanging it!

running the iron over the shirt, using extra shots of steam and then ironing the reverse side, the shirt still looks terrible.
