BEWARE! This company sell plated gold as 9ct. Items purchased have been proven to be plated after paying alit of money for pieces sold as gold. I have discovered a lot of people have experienced same issue with Prouds, even other gold businesses have heard about this. They need to be shut down, Show details

I recently went to my local Busselton store hoping to use some gift vouchers that I had been given and one of the vouchers could not be processed. A very helpful staff member named Hayden went to great lengths to find out what I needed to do to make it possible for me to use the voucher. He gave me the information that I needed to go away and… Read more

activate the voucher. The other voucher processed successfully and I used that as a deposit and was able to return to the store a few days later and complete the purchase. Hayden was not in the store at that time and another staff member helped me to finalise the purchase. I feel Hayden gave very professional customer service and went to great lengths to assist me and that needs to be acknowledged. I am very appreciative of the service given and very happy with my purchase.

My son bought me a bracelet from Prouds for Christmas. Stone fell out so he got it replaced. Stone fell out of the replacement then the safety catch fell off. The next replacement and bracelet is lost. I have told my son not to shop here again. Show details

Never again – Went into store to exchange a size of a new engagement ring (in original Prouds box) bought for me which ended up too big to fit my ring finger or even middle finger when I was proposed to. Was told by the man serving me that my ring finger is too thin for anything they offer in womens adult size and if i wanted to change to the same ring in a… Read more

smaller size that I would need the original hard receipt of purchase, which i myself did not physically have. I am a polite young lady and would even settle for the middle finger size (which they do have to offer). I am beyond frustrated i cannot change for a smaller size of the same ring and wear such a sentimental piece- my engagement ring. The man who served me had poor customer service skills in my opinion. I would rate my experience today below 0 if I could.

I would NOT recommend Prouds jewellery. Staff are rude and unhelpful. I purchased the Gold filigree toe ring that turns rose/copper colour when in pool. I took it back and it was replaced but I was told not to wear it in pool. I told sales consultant that continually taking it off and putting it back on would break it. Well it has broken and… Read more

Prouds won’t replace it as it’s “out of warranty”. I was offered a discounted price! As if I’m going to repurchase for it to breake again. Paying $329 for a piece of gold jewellery for it to break is NOT acceptable. DO NIT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!

What a terrible experience I’ve had with Prouds Jewellers since the purchase of my gold sovereign in May 2025. I waited and saved so long to get this piece.. purchased was over $3000. Less the three months old and worn approximately 6 times and the clasp has come undone each time I’ve worn it and on two occasions I almost lost it. I returned it… Read more

to Prouds Strathpine store in Queensland today hoping to rectify the issue. The only option they could offer me was to send it back to head office and have it assessed for repairs even though both the customer service assistance that inspected it initially and the store manager agreed it was extremely loose. I asked if there was the option of having it soldiered.. yes of course but it would cost me $80 ….to fix a piece that is less than three months old and had been identified by the store manager as having an issue. The store manager I found to be quite rude and abrupt…. She repeated multiple times that Prouds would not pay for it to be soldiered as that would be a modification…. What a joke I’d call it a repair as the price is clearly as new and I paid over $3000 for it. Following a discussion with [Name Removed] at the Prouds head office they agreed to soldier it for half price… certainly not a generous offer for an expensive piece that is faulty. As I was leaving the store, another customer followed me out and said she had had the same problems with Prouds and also commented how rude the store manager was to me. I just looked up the reviews and there seems to be multiple unhappy customers… overall the reviews state ‘customers often reporting issues with product quality and customer service’. I’ve always been a loyal customer and have literally purchased nearly all my jewellery from that store. They obviously don’t value customer loyalty or stand by good customer service or a high-quality piece of jewellery. I highly recommend purchasing elsewhere.

Zero stars - head over to my Facebook group Prouds Complaints Collective. Together we can end this company's unscrupulous business practices. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2445188845854992 I helped my 17 yo son buy a gold locket from Brookvale Prouds for his girlfriend's birthday with his hard earned money, thinking that for $180 that the… Read more

quality would be good. She had only worn it for a month and took great care of it, but one day she noticed that the locket wasn't on the chain anymore. It had just broken and come off somewhere but she didn't notice when it happened so it's lost. She was so upset, my son had even printed out a tiny photo of them to put inside it. The chain was completely intact so the locket was 100% faulty. I took the chain and receipt back to the store, and all the manager and the assistant did was smirk at me and refuse to refund or replace in complete violation of our consumer rights. I've seen a lot of bad customer service but this was as bad as it gets. Basically we bought an overpriced piece of junk that didn't even last a month and Prouds won't even stand by their products. DO NOT RECOMMEND

rang me to say that I had to come back in store to pay it off before they would send it off. Asked if I could pay over the phone given I received the incorrect advice initially. They would not allow. Put through feedback about all the misinformation and errors that Prouds had made, their response was steadfast. Sorry but you need to come in and we hope your next experience is a positive one. They didn't address any of my concerns nor did they assist in finding a solution. Merely that they would pass on feedback. They skipped over the bit that said they had lost a customer. They just don't care.

Follow-up  · Item was a ring. Resizing cost depends on how much you want to resize. Customer service responded to my complaint with a generic response and no resolution. They followed up again saying my feedback had gone to the store manager. Never heard from anyone again. Not sure what the purpose of letting the store manager know when they don’t care enough to call and even apologise for putting me out. Customer service is not one of their values.

earring cracked just by doing it up and the replacement one has a crack starting as well. Took it back in for assessment to get them replaced under warranty and they sent it off for assessment and then came back saying to me that they cant be repaired nor will they replace them under warranty or even give me a giftcard to the value of the earrings. BEWARE some of their jewellery is cheap and poorly made and designed and their warranty is only for 12 months. Since when does 9ct gold earrings last for such a short amount of time?? It's disgraceful, so think twice before giving them your money!

Follow-up  · Prouds did not offer any solution. They dont care that they sell poor quality products. fix it and no refund. I should have known when I bought it Thats it wasn’t for everyday use. Which to me being a guy was very weird to hear that a flat ring was only a dress ring. Which I also had never heard off. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Jessica and her store.

Follow-up  · She said that the ring was not for everyday use and I should know that by looking at it. I think she could have just told me that at time of purchase and I wouldn’t have bought it. Yes the ring is fixed by someone else. For half the cost of the ring which Prouds said couldn’t be done. She said it wasn’t worth fixing cause it would cost more than the ring is worth. Would never use you guys again.

I'm very grateful to the assistance I received from staff from a total of 3 Prouds stores! the item number was, but the store manager (of Prouds in the Canberra Centre) was amazing. He did a search for me, based on my description, and found me both the item number and a store that had it in stock. On contacting the Griffith store, Karen located the turtle pendant for me, and as per my request, arranged with Mikayla from the Belconnen store to have it transferred there, for me to pick up. Thank-you for the wonderful customer service from all 3 staff members, and for helping me make my bestie's birthday a special day. I highly recommend the Prouds stores in Canberra Centre, Griffith, and Belconnen!

Absolutely furious! A week before Christmas we put a ring in to be resized. The girl quoted $120 for the resize. She was unsure and checked with another colleague who confirmed $120 was correct. said that all we need is the slip. I went in today with my slip for pickup and they said they couldn’t release it without hubby’s ok because it was in his name. Fair enough. They tried to call him to get permission and he didn’t answer because he was at work. I text him afterwards and asked him to call the store when he could as I was taking our daughter to the movies and would go back afterwards. He called them and now they are saying they need $167.50 more because we were underquoted. And the ring is not there and is currently offsite. At no point prior to this communication were we notified of such an issue. Absolutely horrid customer service.

Quality of earings is awful. If they put any less gold they'll be thinner than paper. Earings i purchased today are so light I doubt the gold would weigh anything at all. One clasp is so tight it took me ages to close the earing. I'll never buy from them again Show details

I had a terrible experience at Proud Jewellers Cairns Central. I bought a 9ct gold Pearl Pendant with diamonds. I tried it on, so I knew the chain’s length and weight. I was told it was gold plated, which was fine. I gave the pendant to the store manager, [Name Removed], and paid by credit card. As soon as the transaction went through, [Name… Read more

Removed] took the pendant to the back store to replace the “broken clasp”. It took her a minute to return. I was angry because there was no issue with the chain when I tried it on, and [Name Removed] didn’t mention any problems. When I asked for the pendant, she said there was a knot on the chain and then changed her story to say it was broken. She said I could have a broken chain if I wanted. When I asked where the broken chain was, she said, \”Too bad.\” I paid for the goods, and there was nothing wrong with them. [Name Removed] walked into the back store without asking me if I wanted to swap the chain. I had a bad feeling about her honesty. She said it was a display and she had to swap it. Is this how Proud Jewellers does business? When customers pay for goods, they legally own them. You don’t walk away with paid goods without their consent. You don’t say you’re exchanging the chain as you walk off to the back store, giving your customer no chance to have any say in the exchange. For the public, check that Proud Jewellers doesn’t exchange your goods after you’ve paid. I won’t return to Proud Jewellers in Cairns Central.

My recent experience at Prouds was the worst. Here is my compalint tot them and i hope to deter others from expecting good customer service there. I was very happy to find several gold tree of life pendants in store, and the… Read more

girl who did not have a name tag, served me and pulled out three pendants i asked to see. These pendants were between $179 and $279. I also asked to see two more which were in another display. When i asked to view them, she refused, and said its their policy, looked at me as if i was a potential criminal, and was to be honest not very tactful about it. I can understand that if you are bringing out diamond rings, being items of a higher value, but these were literally the cheaper side of what was in store. Even if i had been of that 'ilk' that would grab and run, the store is in a mall which is fully staffed with surveillance cameras and security guards everywhere! Being treated like a criminal even as well presented as i was, was a shock to me. I expressed my shock, as Micheal Hill and Wallace Hill Jewellers don't have this policy (I asked after laving the store), to which she looked at me blankly. I was stunned at the 'policy' of not being allowed to view more than three (cheap) items simultaneously, and felt like i was being treated like a criminal. I am a woman in my late 50s, was well-presented, and didn't look suspicious or so i thought! I was nicely dressed, respectful and there to shop. I was quite disappointed, as to pick jewellery is a very personal experience and i wanted to allow the piece to 'pick me' so to speak. I am not saying the salesgirl was rude, per se, but she was not particularly apologetic at this point, and simply told me i couldn't see the pieces together. I believe she could have been more empathetic to the customer, but evidently a good customer experience is not top of your list of priorities! Things have gotten pretty bad when a store wont let customers choose pieces by comparing them, i must say. I was offered to view them under the glass, and i agreed tentatively, but when she put them under the glass they were too far away from my eyes to see them (I had on glasses for the purpose) and so i gave up. I was potentially looking at a chain and pendant, and potentially was looking at around a $500 spend. I declined to continue the farce of trying to compare pendants by not being able to view them together, and left the store feeling both dirty and humiliated. I can say that I will NEVER ever buy anything from Angus Coote or your other partner stores ever again. This has soured my experience and cost your shop a sale of at least $400-500. (As i was on the market for a quality chain also). In retrospect i can understand being careful with items over a certain value but these were not expensive items and I do not believe you would really have very many people 'grab and run'. I went straight up to Angus and Coote to question them and the very nice lady there who was new to the store, explained in more detail what the policy is and why, without making me feel like a criminal. However, i still refuse to spend any money ever again in your store, and will find my pendant and chain elsewhere. I believe this policy showcases an already tarnished reputation for customer service in this company, and deters customers from returning to your store. I wanted something simple and reasonable--to be able to compare pendants side by side (from only 5, which is not an unreasonable number) and make a purchase. Customer service in your store is seriously disappointing, and i wont be back. Sincerely K. W
