Insurance is something you rely on during already difficult times. Unfortunately, this experience made an already stressful situation much worse.

My vehicle was vandalised and QBE denied a claim by accusing me of misrepresentation….which is not accurate.

I selected No when answering a question about a previous incident ….thinking that it’s based on when the incident occurred, but they have said it’s based on when the incident was finalised (which was several months later and within their 3-year period of disclosure)

Just a typical technicality and company who did not care when I needed the support. And quite frankly has left me feeling hopeless three months later

I’ve had to do two claims in the last 6 months one for a kangaroo and the other for hail. Both claims were handled poorly. My first claim my car left from the repairer still not drivable due to damage that happened at the repairer that Qbe tried to fight me on. hail. 3 months later my car still hasn’t been assessed because the repairer they picked is 5 hours from where I live and Qbe doesn’t want to pay for the tow truck there for my car to be assessed . So after lodging another complaint with AFCA for this claim to get my car assessed I had to send photos of my car so they could assess it and agreed it was a total loss. Yet it seems tho Qbe departments dont communicate with each other because here I am still waiting for this [Content Removed] show to end. Because apparently their assessor didn’t know my car was a total loss . Incompetent unprofessional insurer. Take your money else where the hassle of Qbe isn’t worth the money you save insuring with them!

Mostly this was easy to follow. We had an issue when it came to pay. Your system did not like the expiry date on either of our visa debit cards. We ended up paying a different way, but thought you should know for any future issues Show details ·  2

 Follow-up  · Not sure why the payment system did no like the expiry date. The alternative Payment was simple and smooth. This payment issue will not stop us from using the online insurance policy purchase again.

QBE great at dodging claims ! Friendly staff if/when you eventually get through; then every excuse not to pay/accept a claim. Their client lodged claim as they were at fault, provided me with claim no. - QBE bounced me around for weeks before… Read more

admitting liability/their client at fault. QBE then insisted I take car to repairer for assessment, approved it but "with prejudice" -then stuffed around for weeks again, initially blaming me for accident (chap backed into my side!). Once they agreed their client was at fault, they refused to process claim because their client "had not met Policy Obligations" (aka - he was refusing to pay access); end result, bounced around 'different QBE departments', car at repairer indefinitely until they were ready.... "could be months" if ever. Ombudsman/AFCA has no power to help as my car insured. Got fed up and lodged 'no fault' claim with my insurer who were great, car fixed in week, no excess and got hire car free..... QBE may be legally well covered, but morally and ethically naked !

 Follow-up  · After frustrating delays, excuses and even smug brush-off after I lodged complaint to Insurance Ombudsman (QBE knew no legal action could be taken against them!) I lodged claim with my insurer (no excess, got free rental car, no rating loss and car fixed within 5 days by Budget Direct. QBE called about 2 weeks later and agreed to FIX my car.... I… Read more

Do NOT insure with this 'company.' You will regret it. My wife's car was stolen, and she was not compensated for it. QBE made a decision that she did not immediately report it to the police. Worse still, I gave my wife my car and I rented a car for 3 months until they made their decision. Worse insurance company in history. Show details

First ever claim on comp insurance ever,for a minor bump on rear bumper. Processed ok and took car to repairer weeks later as advised. Car came back with a nasty run in paint on the repair PLUS a new 12cm long scratch on boot. Back for repair - now has the scratch + boot requires 30% more effort to close. In our view, decisions were driven more by cost-cutting than customer care, raising serious concerns about the quality and integrity of the repair process. While we’ve only been customers for the past couple of years, this experience has left us questioning whether QBE truly prioritises fair claims handling or accountability when things go wrong.

We’ve been so disappointed by the process that we’re now moving our business insurance to another provider. Based on this experience — the worst we’ve had with any insurer in our lives — we strongly recommend others proceed with caution before choosing QBE.

it’s your fault, as expected, you pay excess, Allianz have it sorted/the car at the repair shop within a week or so, where QBE were avoiding responsibilities for more than 3 months, then they wrote it off!!

It’s been a month since our no fault car accident. They moved our car to three different repairers searching for the cheapest quote. It would have cost more in towing than the first quote. It’s been a month and it will be another before our car is estimated to be repaired. We have been juggling cars because we are down one and no offer of a hire car. We insurer 4 cars with them. No matter what, QBE wanted me to pay the excess fees even though the other driver already paid excess to their insurance.

That's just cars, imagine if it's house or business.

with 20-30 call queue and each time they have not really been able to tell me when and if they will fix my car. They did give me a repairers details, and I went for an assessment (4 days after the QBE customer crashed into my car), and now I am still waiting on the outcome. I will now get a hire car so at least it is costing QBE to delay fixing my car, but I would like some communication from them.

‼️‼️Never ever buy QBE car insurance‼️‼️ – I have bought QBE for insurance ($2700) for my brand new car Mercedes. We got an incident, but full fault in other car. My car left rear door and frame were fully damaged. The QBE refused to my claim request and negotiated with me for 3 months, they just wanted to cut and welding frame. Now l couldn’t sale my car as a big accident car due to welding process. So don’t buy this issuance, everything never gets as on the contract ! Show details

Stay away from QBE Insurance – Never take this company insurance. It is very difficult to deal with this company. Customer service is bad and hopeless. Terrible avoid at all costs – Claiming a stone cracked windscreen has been an absolute nightmare with QBE. I have never made a claim with them and duly paid my insurance each and every year. Driving along and a stone chipped the windscreen so i immediately went to a windscreen repair business who said it was suitable for repair and would cost $169.00 so I paid and repair done.… Read more

Windscreen business said insurance should cover it. Contacted QBE who took details and said they would send an email to send receipt. No email arrived. Called them again given email said two days would know something. Nothing. Called again “didn’t get the email” sent to wrong department should have been to repairs not claims. Resent to both. Nothing again. Called again still “no email received”. Resent now 3rd time. When they called said no proof of payment. I pointed out it’s at the bottom of the invoice “oh so it is”. You’ll hear from us in two days. Two days for every call. Made to feel like I was dishonest and a bother. Even though receipt given we still have to check if you did pay. No service at all. Finally approved will be changing providers as not efficient enough.

The female on the end of the phone was very helpful, spoke to me like I was an old friend and helped me reduce my premium. Excellent customer service.
