QBE are underwriters for ANZ NAB and several others. Avoid avoid avoid all forms of insurance from QBE and all resellers. Re employment insurance they commit fraud to avoid paying claims. Most likely extend this practice to all branches of insurance.

Have had nothing but problems with QBE for the last 6 months, QBE have not wanted to help with repairs that were conducted on my car from 2x separate claims, 1 for a rear end accident where another person hit me and then was made to lodge another claim b the repairer for hail damage.
Several emails back and forth, me requesting a assessor to come and assess the car after both repairs had been completed on my car, after 6 months my complaint was submitted to the complaints department, I was told to wait 14 business days for a response after 21 ...

QBE seemed to offer the best value, but after wasting more than 30 minutes with Manila call centre staff who - on this occasion -had almost useless audio quality the first time, better on second call, then seemed to be totally disorganised and unaware of QBE's own procedures - I'm wondering whether its worth paying more for better service from another insurer, as customer service doesn't seem to be a priority for QBE. In my case, a simple windscreen enquiry, but the call centre staff were so inept on this occasion, incapable of even bringing ...up QBE webpage due to slow connection speeds there, putting me onto another staff who contradicted the first (and the contradicted the QBE webpage outlining windscreen procedures) then put me on hold for ten minutes until I gave up. No offence meant to Manila call centre generally, probably this is more part of a wider QBE corporate culture problem. Hopefully other insurers are not quite so bad, perhaps QBE is not always this bad - maybe I just was unlucky in this instance? All I know is that if I don't share this experience with someone it's drive me crazy...........

No problems with QBE so far and the cheapest insurance I could find. I got comprehensive insurance. Haven't yet made a claim, but the price during covid was very generous.

Made claim in 2019, Now it has been more than 6 months still waiting. Rude customer service, not reliable. Worst car insurance company. Never Never Never Never Never Never use QBE.
Worst experience after car was stolen.
I had my car stolen almost 6 weeks ago and am still waiting for the payout to hit my account after the claim has been finalised and receiving a text from Qbe themselves saying the payment had been put into my account and it would take upto 3 business days to get it. Its now almost a week since then and im still waiting. When i call i get told 3-5 days wait but that's not what the text said. The entire claim has been me chasing them and having to resend the same documents more then 4 times as they say they never received them, if it wasn't fo...r their assessor helping me with letting me send the documents to the claims department via their email address i'd no doubt still be waiting for settlement to happen aswell. Also what insurance company makes you pay out the rest of the policy after a claim when you no longer have the car and wont be able to use the insurance!? I had 4 months left of my policy and paid monthly and they are taking the remainding 4 months out of my settlement figure. Why, they cancel the policy after all so why pay for a service i can no longer use!?
QBE has done themselves a huge disservice to have amateur overseas call centres
I have had several cars insured through QBE for many years and made a claim about 10 years ago and it wasn’t a problem. Now though their call center is ridiculous, a huge wait time ( ok I get it I can understand that) but the I get a lady who barely speaks english, has massive background noise and her own mobile home ringing and can not answer a question. Their online portal does not work and there seams no way to fix it, call center lady said I don’t have a security question but did also not understand my answer. I was again placed on hold and...waited for 12 minutes the next lady couldn’t tell me when my insurance policy was first started which was why I went on the online portal in the first place and placed me on hold again for another 8 minutes. Bad service and what a waste of time. Now I would be scared if anything happens, changing to another company.

Not even a legit insurance!
I made my claim on August 2019 as a man reversed into my motorcycle (covered by comprehensive insurance) and it resulted my bike as a write off.
I covered my bike for $3000, with a premium of around $1,400 (stupidly high, but it was my first insurance ever).
I had to call QBE myself, to get updates, they provided no email or text updates whatsoever. After 100s of calls they settled for $500!!
They took their premium out of my settlement which is normal, then they made me pay the excess of around $100.
They promised to pay my excess back...before 2020 and now they're telling me to call back in February! Bottom line is, go with a well recognised insurance such as NRMA or Allianz- it'll feel good knowing that youre insured but when the time comes to put them to work, they'll do anything to not pay you.
Overseas call centre is pathetic... Seem to be trained with same answers, no call backs, no resolutions!!! Never again..
It has been 4 weeks, since my accident. My car is sitting at the repairer, and still no answers from QBE. Farcical, All i want is an answer so i can move forward. Simple as that. The offshore call centre are a pack of puppets...
Have QBE with both cars. My car had a deep scratch made a claim got a payout which unfortunately didnt have time to get repaired before another car smashed into the exact same spot and back of my car. Qbe refused to cover claiming the amount given would repair it all. We pay THAT much in insurance and they refuse to cover a second accident that was now my fault. Oh and the other parties insurance should cover it since it was their fault correct? Well they were with QBE too suprise suprise why they wouldnt cover it. Im so ticked off will never recommend and by the looks of all other reviews QBE is a FARCE.
Worst insurance company out there
In an accident I wasnt at fault in, it took 6 weeks to settle it with my car being a total loss.
I called them so many times with them doing nothing for weeks, they kept telling me incorrect information. It wasnt until two weeks in that they actually even moved my car from the tow yard to be assessed.
Customer service are very unhelpful, on hold every time I called and passed around to everyone. They dont document information so no one ever knows where the claim is at.
I recommend no one to ever go with this company, they make even the simplest things a huge hassle.
At a time when the last thing you need is more stress, QBE makes a lot worse.

Fact ! You people are so rude. Poor mismanagement of my policy Fact ! I've recorded every conversation with you people & will be passing this on to my solicitor. Very poor service.
Poor customer service
I'm waiting to speak to a customer service officer and so far have waited over 45 minutes. There is no option to leave your number and have someone ring you back. Who has time to be on hold for over 45 minutes during working hours????
Just spend more elsewhere
It’s not worth the money you save. It doesn’t add up to the total headache of dealing with this company. Started out with 4 policies, cancelled them all over time.
If only these guys fought for me as hard as they fought against me.
Over 2 months to get policy paid out but didn't mention they were keeping the GST. Didn't even look at my vehicle for a week after the accident. Now it's 11 months since my "not at fault" accident and QBE tell me "we have recouped our losses, so we will not pursue the other insurer for your out of pocket damages", even though they told me they would. I got hit by a courier van, now I am $18000 out of pocket and counting.
Made an official complaint, they found in their favour.
My Advice is go straight to the AFCA if you need to claim with these guys.
I was told they would pay my emergency towing, after 1 week still not payment so I couldn’t get my car, was advised I can use my hire car as I pay extra, none of their companies in my town had an account with them so they couldn’t help me. Disgusting wouldn’t waste my money on them QBE is also ANZ bank.
Should be shut down, no Aussie and continuously have to repeat why I’m calling.
Can i just say how sorry i am to post that QBE has been a massive let down ,when i purchased a bike in early March had and accident then made a claim everything seem to be o.k .When i did't receive an up date per progress i tried to call the number provided many times for 20 plus minute segments i began to form an opinion.Iv'e been riding and insuring motorbikes for many years with no claims until this one which was recommended by the Motorcycle dealer (KTM) Sydney .At the time of purchasing the policy i opted to have Accessories covered also I....E Helmet, protective gear etc ,so when i sent my Apparel claim form and damaged gear to them some weeks later QBE sent me an email saying i would only receive $99.00 for the helmet which wouldn't cover the price of a replacement helmet let alone the Interphone (Helmet Intercom) which was also damaged in the accident and with that they said i hadn't listed it in the policy .I didn't list anything it's just not covered .Be very careful people ,this is bad practice

Sold my motorcyle 6 months ago. Cancled the policy. QBE continued to take take out of my bank acc after numerous phone calls to make them stop. Then they asked me to prove i sold it , so had to go to Service NSW for proof of sale(which cost money). Said they would send out a cheaque within 13 days. Waited for 2 weeks then rang them to ask what was going on, seems they sent it to my previous address, but when asked to confirm my details, my new address was confirmed by QBE. Today is the 12th of july. QBE origanly sent the cheque on the 22nd of m...ay. I sold my bike in february and canceled the policy the same week. QBE just want me to say keep the f+×÷=n money so they can surpass their $700 billion dollar profit for 2018. I know that if I owed QBE money, they would be on my case every minute of the day. Now the tables have turned and they dont want to give back what they took. Is it illegal for someone to take money from your account without permission, because permission ceased when the policy was canceled 6 months ago
One star because I can’t choose no atat
Cancelling policy as competitors price for like for like policy $400 cheaper. Can’t cancel my own policy because I wasn’t the nominated driver. Then QBE thought it would be best to tell me I didn’t set up the policy no matter that I had the name and time of the phone call when establishing the policy.

I would have give 0 stars, but had to give 1 star minimum...Hopeless customer service, wait for ages on the phone, not open at convenient times, cannot understand non english speaking people. Had my son listed as driver but was not advised that when he got his P plates, he would no longer be covered...had an accident and they declined the claim, I expected a big excess, but definitely not that I would not be covered...Disgusting! AVOID at all costs, RAA is cheaper anyway...

Never ever again will i insure with QBE. I was run off the road by a lady on her mobile phone at warnavale. Plenty of witnesses. I was thrown 40 mtrs down the road & only suffered a broken thumb. ( Lucky to be alive ) Its coming up to 7 weeks & still no sign of my money. I received a letter to say it's been transferred to my account & still nothing. Proberly making interest off my cash. I'm on my second day As my bike is my only means of transport of paying for taxis. Also my apparel claim of $1500 was knocked back due to no pics of my blood stained clothing. I am a ex serving Army veteran with ptsd & to be treated this way in unacceptable. Please do not use there services. Next point of action is procediding with legal action against your accounts department.
