This is a statement not a question. I have a Rancher 547/38. I am 80 years old and have bought many things in my long life. The Rancher 547/38 is by a very very long way the worst thing I have ever purchased. It is rubbish. Just rubbish.
I have purchased an older rancher ride on,it was running great for about an hour,I was cutting long grass and then I went to go up a hill ,it began blowing loads of blue smoke out of the exhaust,I turned it off mediately,have I stuffed it,I'm a woman with no idea,this is my first ride on,is an hour of mowing to much
How to adjust belt
I have a 547/38 with a starter motor that will not engage, but I can’t see where any fuses are located in the mower chassis. Any ideas?
Hi I have a rancher 547 and there is no power to the ignition, I did purchase a new battery replaced the fuse, it worked but battery wouldn’t hold charge so I had to use jump pack to start now no power at all even with jump pack, fuse is ok any siggestions as it’s not that old. But we love along way from repair agent
Hi I have had a dimlar experience, battery flat & wouldn’t take a charge, nrw battery installed flat in 24 hrs. Disconnected black terminal, multi meter actoss terminal & connecting wire, showed 12v current drain. The voltage regulator was faulty, replaced under another warranty claim. Insist they check voltage on Black terminal & disconnected cable with everythig switched off, then disconnect voltage regulator plug, do same test should show Zero, prooves regulator faulty, check nee battery gir function if ok you should have no issues aftr Regulator replaced. If battery is NG make them replace it dur ti regulator fault. Rgd Davif

The choke cable is fine and working as it should
My mower is operating as if the choke is fully on. Using twice the fuel, running very rough and emitting black smoke and lacks power. I have replaced the spark plug. What else do I need to replace/do please?
Try replacing the choke cable as it may be stretched.
I have a rover rancher 547 2020 model. With only 80 hours onnthe clock.Was running ok but now is running like the choke is engaged all the time. Black smoke loss of power, surging and using twice as much petrol. I replaced the spark plug but no real difference. Dlfuel filyer was replaced 6 months ago. I think it's a fuel issue. So what is my next step please. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks John
Ive been having engine troubles hopefully a simple one, but when I'm Just riding and not mowing the engine seems to be purging and I've changed fuel oil cleaned filter and changed plug also got a new fuel filter. Is it an easy fix or am I up for a few hundred to get someone to say we fixed it and $300 later

My 547/38 stops working after 30minutes and won't restart untill allowed to cool down after 20 minutes or so. What might be the peoblem
I have not heard of this problem before, unless it has something to do with the fuel filter. Best to get a mower mechanic to have a look at it. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help
Rover mowers were bought by AMD Australia in about 2010. I believe they are now built in China and sold in Australia by AMD the makers of murray rideons and other associated junk rideons. This was a marketing ploy because prior to its sale to AMD Rover mowers were a well known and respected product in Australia. Cox who now also make Greenfield will be next and its already on the skids with its cheap plastics and hydro drives.

It was to answer people making enquiries about two different manufacturers. Rovers before 2010 were built by Rover Australia. Rover mowers built after 2010 are built by AMD using the Rover brand name they are not built in Australia they are built in China ..
Same thing in nz Chris use to be assembled here from USA parts ,now. There made in china and steelfort nz importers couldn't tell me the. Hp rating ,and there very lacking in quality I have a 547/38 10 hours stretched a belt had battery replaced Just rubbish
I was mowing and then hopped off and it automatically shut off and wont start. It turns over but doesnt start.
what is the correct deck belt for this mower?

Does a rover Rancher auto drive have a diff lock. My mowers back wheels are locked so hard to turn.

I have just bought an old rancher model 28166/180 ,to start it says put selector lever in neutral, ? Were is that lever ?
On left side,forward,reverse,neutral,make sure it is in neutral,also make sure cutting deck is up,lever right side,and also make sure foot brake is fully depressed or park brake applied,then turn ignition on

There is no lever for forward, neutral, reverse, is it the foot petal ?
