Horrible customer service. After wishing to dispute a claim - emailed and only received a response back 11 business days later, saying I would receive a response from the claims department in 1 to 2 business days… now 6 business days no response. In that email I was also told the claim had been addressed as a pre existing condition - even though… Read more
the claims were for diagnostic testing that did not diagnose any condition… huge regrets moving from an insurer that was FAR more responsive.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The call centre is clearly overseas and it is very difficult to understand them. They have zero compassion and very unhelpful when trying to sort out a problem with a claim. Would not recommend them at all. Choose another insurer!!!! Show details

My dog has been covered for 10 years now by RSPCA Pet Insurance (Hollard Insurance) and just received the annual renewal of $2760.00 per year. I love my dog and its extremely dissapointing to be taken advantage of when you have been loyal for so many years. Comparing this level of cover with other insurers I am paying 3.5 times. Other insurers… Read more
are willing to cover my 10 yr old pet for a much less premium and I questioned this with RSPCA and they became extremely defensive not allowing me to interject then they disconnected the call. Call was made today 12/8/2025 12:13pm AEST.

RSPCA Pet insurance is fantastic. Payments were quick, easy and done at the vets once final invoice was confirmed. Knowing the insurance was in place was immensely reassuring when assessing payments. I got pet insurance initially because I was worried my dog might break a leg or similar and require an overnight stay and a small operation… Read more · 1
(5~10k). My dog ate something random which was toxic, causing him to get very sick and needing 7 days in ICU with 24/7 care. Total bill for the stay was around 17k which would have been problematic to get my hands on at short notice.
RSPCA Insurance accepted the costs fairly and without arguing. 100% would recommend. I really feel that RSPCA helped save my dog's life.
Fast, Efficient and with clear instructions on what is needed to process the claim. I have insured all 3 of my French Bulldogs with RSPCA for the last 8 years, The policy is expensive, but it covers what it says every time. Claims are processed within 7 days of providing all the requested documents. Highly recommend. Show details · 1
We have had RSPCA pet insurance for our Chihuahua for nearly 5 and a half years since she was 9 weeks old we have had 2 key claims in her life. The first was when she got meningitis at just under a year-old and again in the last month when she had a ruptured disc in her neck. We never had to fight for coverage, it has always been an automatic… Read more · 1
approval and with RSPCA being a preferred insurer at vets and specialist emergency animal hospitals we have only had to pay the gap instead of paying upfront and waiting for a refund. Throughout the year we also get coverage on medications and blood test testing for things like her heart worm prevention injection. We are extremely grateful that the comprehensive package truly is all inclusive
Lodged a claim one day and was reimbursed the next day. So easy as usual. This claim was for our little man, Toby. We have now been with RSPCA for nearly 10 yrs. Will always be insured with RSPCA. Show details · 1
A life savour – All claims are dealt with fast never had a problem the only thing I find is it is a little too expensive being on a pension I find my payments high. We have been with rspca for over 7 years highly recommend Show details · 1

This is an easy review to write. I have had to make a claim for our 10 year old boy 3 times now - two of those in the last two days. Each time, RSPCA have come through with not a single issue. It's stressful enough having to take your furbaby to the… Read more · 1
vet for urgent care without worrying what it will cost and debating with the vet whether it's truly an important enough issue to pay potentially thousands for. Of course you're always willing to pay whatever it takes, but it can really hurt your wallet. RSPCA made our horrible last two days not stressful at all financially, so we could focus only on our boy getting better. It was actually a pleasure paying for our bill at the end of the day yesterday and today.
I put 4 stars only because we do pay ALOT each fortnight for insurance. At $90 a fortnight, it's crazy - and a quick google search shows that others are of the same opinion. But in the end, it saved us in our time of need. Thankfully we've only needed to use our insurance 3 times in 10 years, so we've more than paid more than they've paid us out, and we never use it unless we have to.
But other than that, we're simply over-the-moon with RSPCA service wise. It's incredible and no fuss at all. The last two days have been exhausting and stressful, and they made it easy for us to be able to take all the tests we needed to, to make sure we got the very best care for our precious little boy.
Follow-up · How was the online portal? Great! Although, TBH, I didn't have to login except to get my account details to pass onto the vet to organise the insurance for me. But the portal is always easy enough. Any pre-existing condition issues? No. What about the excess? So the entire treatment was around $3800-ish, but I was only out of pocket about $550-ish. AMAZING!!!

Happy RSPCA fur-mommy for over 8 years! – We have 2 huskies covered and receive the multi-discount. As a loyal customer, I was shocked to see the renewal premium go up by 30% for our furbaby Jakey so I contacted RSPCA and spoke to a lovely consultant Eka. Eka was empathetic to my concerns and discussed with me whether I required the level of policy cover or if I wanted to change to a… Read more · 1
lower level of cover and advised me of the prices/savings by doing that. I wanted to keep Jakey's level but with the increase in prices for anything today, it was really pushing the budget and I told her I would have to start looking around just because of price. So Eka took the time to look at what she could do to retain us and came back to me with 3 months premium waived!! Eka really made my day - I am one happy fur-mommy. I have been with RSPCA for over 8 years and between check-ups, to ACL's and TPLO to having cancer removed and now monthly osteo injections, I cannot thank RSPCA enough for the prompt communication and easy use of GAP pay. The portal is also very easy to use. I tell everyone I know that has pets to only go with RSPCA. The service is 10/10 and they will listen to you and try their best.
Poor customer service – I am extremely disappointed with RSPCA Pet Insurance. Despite being marketed as an affordable and reliable option for pet owners, the experience has been frustrating due to constant premium increases, poor customer service, and a lack of loyalty toward long-term customers. Even though my pet has no major health issues and I’ve only made claims for… Read more
preventive care, my premiums have risen every year without review. When I asked for a loyalty discount or consideration for long-term customers, I was told none existed. Instead, RSPCA Pet Insurance focuses on attracting new customers with discounts, while long-time policyholders are left with increasing costs and no rewards.
The customer service team, based overseas, has been dismissive and unhelpful, providing scripted responses and showing little regard for customer concerns. For a company associated with the RSPCA, known for its commitment to animal welfare, this lack of care and focus on profit over service is disheartening. There are no incentives to retain customers, and the service does not live up to the values of the RSPCA brand.
Ultimately, I canceled my policy and would advise others to look elsewhere for pet insurance. RSPCA Pet Insurance has been a major letdown.

Quick and easy claims and payments and great service – We are very fortunate we decided to sign up with RSPCA insurance when we bought home our Golden Retriever puppy, Bobby. Unfortunately at the very young age of 3, Bobby developed cancer in his tail. We had to have a biopsy and have his tail amputated. A couple of months later, after lots of medication, Xrays and an MRI, we discovered the cancer has… Read more · 1
spread through our poor boy's body. When researching insurance before we had a pet, some people suggested setting aside money instead of investing into pet insurance - but we would not have had the savings to deal with the costs that were associated with Bobby at such a young age. In addition to the cancer, Bobby also had ear infections and other minor illnesses that we were also able to claim on. The process to claim online is so easy and we were always reimbursed, without issue, within a week. It has taken so much stress and pressure off us in such difficult times. Whilst the repayments may be considered high, it was definitely worth it and we are very grateful for the team at RSPCA and so glad that we chose them to insure our beautiful boy so we could always provide him with the best care.

My cat is getting older now so I need to use the insurance more than ever before. Making claims has become so much easier now that a claim can be made by the vet and it is processed within minutes. My insurance helps me to make decisions for my cat’s welfare without the worry of whether I can afford to pay. Thank you for your service. Show details · 1
Our dog who sadly passed away last week was ensured for about 7yrs with RSPCA. We had nothing but good experiences. The last claim I did was for his very last vet hospital visit where he was sadly euthanised. RSPCA offered their condolences to us and even cancelled the policy. Very good customer service with the heart in the right spot. Show details · 1
My dog was diagnosed with cancer and had lots of vet bills. All the claims were processed in a timely manner and I got refunds very quickly. Also, when my dog died, I received a compassionate email from the company with a confirmation of policy cancellation. So far the best pet insurance company I have dealt with. Highly recommended. I’ve been with your company since my dog was a puppy, over 12 years of loyalty and this is how you repay your customers? $116 per fortnight for a small 12-year-old dog?! That’s over $3,000 a year. Are you seriously trying to justify this? People are struggling to make ends meet and you continue to hike up prices without any consideration for the… Read more
financial pressure we’re under.
Now I have to choose between my own health insurance and my dog’s and guess what? Her pet insurance costs more than mine! And if I cancel, you wipe her cover for good because shes over the threshold age. What kind of system is that? You’ve trapped people into staying with you no matter how outrageous the cost gets.
Increasing premiums by $20 year after year is disgusting. You are preying on people’s love for their pets. This isn’t just overpriced, it’s robbery. Shame on you.
No excuses. No justification. Just pure greed.

For what I pay you get barely anything back. Annual check-up and vaccinations are $150, I only get back $50, and I don't need to claim anything else. Meanwhile I'm paying $95 a fortnight. Considering you're told that you can get a return of up to 80% back and you get back nowhere near that you kinda feel used and lied too. I would have thought getting your animal de-sexed would qualify you for a larger return. Show details

Very good and the people great! – I've been with RSPCA insurance for about 5 to 6 years approximate. I love my dog trouble and want the best for him. I was with another pet insurance before for a year. One day I Had an enquiry and was spoken down to by a person bringing their personal life to work. I didn't like that experience and rang RSPCA that afternoon. The repayments… Read more · 1
were similar but that is only part of the whole deal. When lodging a claim the people I speak with always remember my dear hound, they ask if he's ok and I feel they are sincere. It is handled quickly and professionally. There is one lady and I feel awful because I can't remember her name. She is an angel. I have had the luck to speak many times with her and she is a joy. But everyone is LOVELY. I THINK SHE HAS an accent. RSPCA I feel are at the top of their genre. Thank you everyone.
This is my second pet insurance policy with RSPCA. Our previous border collie developed epilepsy when he was 5 years old. RSPCA covered 80% of his emergency hospital costs, and a lifetime of medication. The customer service RSPCA provide is second to none. That’s why I’ve insured our new border collie puppy with RSPCA. Value for money, caring and compassionate. Show details · 2

I called due to an increase in cost for our current pet insurance. Staff member Lovely was polite and understanding. And was willing to offer a temporary waiver for my long serving loyalty to the company. Fantastic! Show details · 1

Excellent service, compassionate, prompt, efficient and reliable. We have had our pets insured with RSPCA for 8 yrs now and they are always true to contract. The only place I think they should imptove is in the payment for desexing to encourage pet protection and health. Show details · 1
