Ryobi RLM36 Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat blade do I need for 46cm model RLM36B46S1 mower?
Blade for RLM36B46S1 mower please??
I have no idea. I bought one, used it once and found it did not cut properly and returned it to Bunnings.
Any suggestions on where I can source a Power Assembly for RLM36X46L50HID that I got from Bunnings in Dec 2016? I believe it is part no 1852526, PP assy 36V. It may even be that I only need the spring in the starter button.
No. I suggest you get a new and better mower.
Hi everyone, I have just got a second hand Ryobi Propulsion RLM36X50HP mower and I can't get the blades to engage.
- When you pull the bale back and press the start, the propulsion engages immediately. (Without touching the green levers - is it supposed to do that?) - Problem is that the blades won't engage.
Seriously love any tips. I've tried everything. Does anyone have any clues?
The blades and propulsion are independent. external link The green levers are to activate the blades, and it does require the catcher or mulch plug to be in place to activate the blades.
Don’t bother with it. Take it back, if you can. Ryobi mowers are better at bending grass over than cutting it.
I wondered about that Tim. I don't suppose you know a way around it?
Ha David Cory - you are talking to a diehard Ryobi user here!
Will a RLM36X50HP start the blades if there is no mulch plug or bag attached?
I don't know about the 50 but my older one does. I'm not sure where I've put my mulch plug - there's a plug of grass within seconds if you don't put the plug in so it seems somewhat redundant.
Thanks Tim - that's what happens with my non propelled too :)
Can you please advise if the Ryobi RLM36X46BL can be used as a mulching mower with a mulching plug?
No, no blades or plugs available for it, I suspect there'd not be enough power. You can't even side expel the grass, you HAVE to use the catcher at all times.
Why won’t my Ryobi grass cutter pick up grass in grass box? It only cuts and mulches the grass.
My Ryobi mower blade stopped spinning at full speed today. It’s pulsing on rotation like it’s trying to spin but the power is cutting out. I didn’t hit anything or run over anything it was flat mowing and the grass wasn’t longer than usual. Has anyone had this problem before?
My mower appears to be working ok, but there is this "Check Blade" blue light constantly on. What should I do?
The “Check Blade” light comes on after 10 hours use. After checking (and replacing the blades if necessary) hold down the “Battery” icon for 3 seconds to reset the blue light!
We did this and it successfully removed the blue light but then the flashing red light wouldn’t go off! All a bit frustrating. Battery charged, blades are fine.
Am going through this painful process right now. Frustrating……
The blue light went, and the red light keeps beeping…
Further on the red over loading keeping light, Bunnings boys at Castle Hill weee great. I took mine to store trying to get experts assessment. They were not encountered this problem before, and checked everything including testing my battery which was normal. They were prepared to gimme a new one at store, until someone picked up the message you need to actually put the grass catcher in place. That got rid off the red overloading light right away. Stupid me was as happy as Larry. Thanks Riko and boys!

My mower won't start
Is the battery fully charged and locked into position and the red isolation key inserted in its position? If above is all true I assume you know you have to hold the centre button on the handle bars in then pull up either one of the hand levers to start it. Once started you can release the centre button but not both the hand levers (unless you want to stop it). If you've tried all the above and still no good, you either have a faulty battery or something worse has happened internally which will require repairs at a service centre. Perhaps a neighbour has a known working battery the same as yours you could try?
What is the difference between RLM36B50HP and RLM36X50HP?
Hi, I recently bought a Ryobi 36 Volt Lawn mower. Unlike most of the posts about it not starting etc, does anyone else find that the grass catcher drags along the ground once it has 25% grass in it and then caths if you try and reverse back with it? The grass catcher seems very flimsy.
Have new Ryobi 36v self propelled lawn mower, but self propelled is not working?? Am I doing something wrong?
RLM36B40H 36v lawnmower Manufactured date 2022 press start turns on a few seconds squeals and dies any answers to this problem thanks j w
If I stop n start the mower heaps will it drain the power of the battery
I have a RLM36BL and so do my two sons. Two of us have a problem in that the mowers do not cut evenly and they leave a groove in the grass on one side of the mowing strip. An inspection of the blade seems to indicate that it is actually slightly lower on one side. What can be done about this?
My Roybi 36v 46cm brushless can’t start to work , what’s the reason?
My RLM36B50HP self propelled not working and on start up runs for 30 seconds then stops Rodney
My Ryobi lawn mower is about 7 years old, has been "cutting out" for about 3 months on and off despite having a fully charged battery. I have 2 batteries which I alternate and it happens with either battery. Do I take it to Bunnings to send off for service or is it time for a new lawnmower? Rocky's human.
It’s the batteries my line trimmer did the same replaced battery all good now
I have lost the safety key to my RLM36B49L battery powered mower. Where can I get a replacement key?
They are like hens teeth. I've looked everywhere with no success.
