Saeco Royal Cappuccino Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: royalcappuccinoI have a saeco royal professional redesign digital and when i make a cappucino it makes this knocking thumpins sounds, it also happens when i turn the steam knob. Not sure what it is. Can anyone help
If it's a rhythmic thumping it is likely one of the pumps. Mine does the same thing. Its normal. Probably a piston pump and they do that.
An inconvenient flaw on an otherwise great machine is that the grind control, which has numbered settings 1 through 8 gives no indication as to whether 1 is the finest grind or the coarsest. Simply printing "fine" and "coarse" on the printed legend, or showing some fine dots at one end and thicker dots at the other would make it clear. This is not a control that is often used once set, and it is easy to forget which direction the lever needs to be pushed.
Our machine seems to be stuck on dispensing steam through the automatic cappuccino steamer on the side while we just want to use the manual steam. What can be done?
Likely the solenoid valve controlling cappucino steam is stuck open. See my fuller reply to an earlier message about the same thing.
How do I set my machine to finer? Please
How do I switch it on
My coffee machine has electricity but it doesn't work, the steamer is working but nothing else, I get a reading of "ventilate" when it's on. Is it a computer problem. Any help would be great
Run the water through the machine. It means there is an air bubble somewhere. Message will disappear once bubble is gone
I have the Saeco Royal Professional Automatic Expresso Machine and the "Energy Saving" mode is on. I can't get it off. According to the manual for SUP 016, I need to press the "Standby" button. However, this model doesn't have a standby button. Do you have any solution?
Hi Did you managed to fix your machine. mine is doing to the same.
Press "Menu" The first option is "Energy Saving" This means the same as "Standby" What that does is immediately put the machine into standby or energy saving mode if it is not already in Energy Saving mode. Saeco may have changed the wording between model variations.
If you want to adjust the time before going to "Standby", including setting it to NEVER OFF (my words) press "Menu" then scroll up (or down) until you see "Timer" on the menu with the star adjacent that option. Press Enter. That will open up the timer settings and you can set how long the machine stays ready before entering energy saving/standby mode by using the up/down buttons. Choose your option then press "Enter.
You are right, there is no "standby" button, but the idea is to press "enter" when the menu says "Energy Saving".
FYI: The machine draws 1.8Watts in standby, and up to 2355Watts when running. Of course, when it is not actually heating but still ready, the draw is less, but still masses above the 1.8W standby current.
How do i adjust the size of a large cappuccino, on a saeco royal professional?
I have held the large button in but it stops on its own before i release the button? Does that mean thats the most a large will make?
Whenever “Cappuccino Programming” function is enabled, the same amount of cappuccino is constantly dispensed. On the contrary, whenever this function is disabled, cappuccino is brewed until the user stops the dispensing. The amount can only be programmed with programming mode enabled. Press keys ▲▼to move the asterisk to item “PROG.CAPUC.”. Press ENT to activate this function. The following message will be displayed: "PROG. CAPUC. - ON " The keys ▲▼ allow you to change the set options: “ON”, “OFF”. We really hope you enjoy your daily large cappuccino. Why wont the Dreg Drawer Full signal go off even thought I've cleaned and dried the dreg drawer and cleaned and dried the brewing unit?
Hi there, thank you for your question. Have you tried remove the drawer, wait a little, and put it back again? Only empty the coffee grounds container when the coffee machine is turned on, this will enable the coffee grounds counter to reset. The machine has a 30 cups counter and should reset after 10/15 seconds after the container is being removed.
If this doesn't solve the issue, we'd like to refer you to our Consumer Care team for more information. You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.

Thank you very much for your email. I did remove the tray and cleaned the entire machine and brewing system. I reset the machine to factory settings - no change, I then turned it off and disconnected the electricity. The machine is about 15 years old and has still worked fantastically. I've had it serviced a few times over the years. I will get another service. Can you recommend another model if I need to replace the machine? Many thanks again. Regards Janette

How do you make the coffee stronger for espresso‘s
Hello Mick, Are the espresso's a bit watery? There can be numerous reasons as to why the espresso's aren't strong. We advise you to check your grinder settings. When adjusting the grinder setting to a finer grind, it may have been accidently overturned, resulting in the two grinding stones being set too close to one another. This could result in the grind being very fine and not absorbing the water. To solve this, simply re-adjust the grind setting to a coarser setting by turning the knob inside the coffee bean container to a higher number or larger coffee bean.

Descaling takes a long time. The water level sensing is disabled, and the cycle runs until the machine runs out of water. That seems to be the trigger to indicate descaling finished. If you don't let it run to completion it does not know the descale cycle is complete. After that, be sure to run one or two rinse cycles. Because it runs the descaling until empty, it entrains some air in the pipes. Hence the ventilate indication. Run rinse cycle(s) to get rid of the air. All should come good.
My deacon royal grinds the coffe and then when it is to dispense out not water/coffee is coming out. Then machine stops and says ready again. What is wrong?
Sounds like the water pump has failed.. Does it make steam, does it dispense water for a cup of tea. How long since you have cleaned the blending unit thing inside the door. have you taken out the round strainer from the top of the blending unit and cleaned it.
Thanks for your question on this platform. If the machine has been maintained properly, it might be best to contact our service partner in Australia about this, seeing this machine falls in our professional line of products. You could find more information over on this page: external link .

Our machine seems to be stuck on 'WARMING UP' and previous to this was dispensing water instead of steam when the steam dial was turned. Some assistance would be appreciated. Thank you
The Royal Cap model has 2 boilers and my guess is the boiler for coffee and steam has a failure and is not getting hot enough for either so it can't make steam or coffee..We had one doing the same thing..but I am not surprised as it had made OVER 39,500 cups of coffees....

Hi My seaco is showing dregdrawer missing all the time where can I buy the suitable sensor online?

When you remove the dreg drawer you will see a slot on the left side of where the dreg drawer slides in. At the end of that slot is a switch that is activated by a projection on the side of the dreg drawer. The switch may be gunked up, or it may be faulty. It doesn't make a noise when activated like most switches, so it is likely just 2 contacts coming together rather than a sealed microswitch (which makes a sound). If you can't clean it to make it operate freely, then there is either more disassembly needed to get at it further, or it's a service job for possibly a new switch.
Hello! I have a very nice saeco Royal - and while I usually steam my milk manually, the few times I have tried to use the automatic milk dispenser, it only dispenses about a 1/2 ounce or an ounce of milk - it is hot and foamy, just not much . . . I know I can hold the button down for the espresso portion and it will dispense until I take my finger off the button and that amount will be the default, but it doesn't seem to work for the milk. I have to push the auto brother button two or three times to get the desired amount of milk. Please advise?
