Samsung DV80M5010QW Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: DV80M5010QWI purchased the Samsung dv80m5010qw heat pump dryer in January 2019. Over the last few months it has had to be put on 2 to 3 times to dry a load and is not collecting much water in the container it is suposed to. Instead the front of the dryer is leaking some water on the floor and the glass is very wet with lint in clumps on it. The lint collected is not full and I always clean the filters. What could be the problem and can it be fixed? Our last dryer lasted over 20 years and was still working when we updated to this one!
Not sure what the issue may be, but I'm confident it can be fixed. Have you tried Samsung live chat to see if they may know what the issue is and if there is something you can try fix the issue? I have had my heat pump unit for 8 years and still going.
Thank you, I have emailed Samsung and am waiting for a response hopefully it can be fixed.
Still waiting for a response from Samsung! This is the worst company to deal with and will be the last ever Samsung product we buy.
Hi Samsung, I’m a huge fan of Samsung products and I’m looking for a new dryer, however I’ve noticed that all these new heat pump dryers are having major issues with drying clothes including brands like Bosch which is known to be high end, currently fighting to get my $2,000 back as it does not dry clothes, full loads or a couple of items. My question is, if I buy a Samsung dryer and if it’s faulty, will it be a nightmare dealing with Samsung? Also, according to Bosch, their dryers only dry full loads and don’t dry 1 or 2 items, in my view both statements are false and the dryer is totally useless, does your dryer dry clothes regardless how many items are in the dryer and yes I understand it won’t dry if overloaded.

I guess that’s a ‘yes’ for will it be a nightmare dealing with Samsung and a ‘no’ for will it dry clothes. Believe the reviews Tania … as an aside I twice had Samsung combo washer/dryer units. Put the first lemon down to bad luck … then another lemon. Samsung washers and dryers? Never again.
I did the same thing with the Bosch dryer until I investigated further and realised there is a common complaint with all of these dryers. Dealing with Bosch directly also gave me more insight into just how bad these new tech dryers are and the excuses for not giving a refund, OMG. I’ve gotten a very simple and cheap dryer that works the way it’s supposed to and I’m happy with it. I love my Samsung products at home, TV, fridge (nearly 14 years old) and washing machine. Don’t want to ruin my thinking by buying something that could potentially be another fight.
I have both a Samsung heat pump dryer and a front load washing machine. We purchased them back in 2013, the heat pump dryer is working well. The washing machine had a couple of issue with it and every time we called Samsung service there was no issue. The last issue we had with the the washer was a bearing had collapsed and the drum was off centre. The unit was out of warranty but Samsung actual swapped out the unit for a newer model on questions. The Samsung units are as good if not better than the more expensive brands.
