August 2024. The technician resolved the issue and specifically informed me that this Samsung fridge model is known to be faulty.

Unfortunately, the same fault reoccurred almost exactly a year later, with water again pooling and freezing under the crisper drawers. On 26 June 2025, I contacted Harvey Norman to request a copy of my receipt and seek assistance. I was told that the 2-year manufacturer’s warranty had expired, and I would need to contact Samsung directly.

On 27 June 2025, I contacted Samsung Customer Support. I explained that the issue had previously occurred and been repaired, and I was informed that I would now be liable for the cost of the repair. I disputed this and requested escalation. Samsung later offered a 40% discount voucher and refused to replace my product.

DO NOT BUY FRIDGE THAT IS SAMSUNG! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THAT IT IS A FAULY PRODUCT. PERFORM A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH AND YOU WILL SEE EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN.

Don’t buy a Samsung Fridge – By far the worst fridge ever! Like all other reviews, Samsung should have had the moral decency to recall this faulty product! Even their repair people admit, this fridge has water leaking issues. It’s now out of warranty so all we can do is throw it out … just like the huge amount of food we have had to dispose of because of water leaking into the crispers. Good fridge couldn't be happier – Fridge is very good, adjustable temperature and ice maker which we don't use but is there if needed. A complaint is that sometimes the ice maker turns on even though it's off and not connected but the fridge it self is great doors work well Show details

cold in around 30 minutes. Very handy. Another plus is the non-plumbed water dispenser. Easy access, quick to refill and clean, and being non-plumbed means one less thing to worry about!

Great Fridge, Love the water dispenser – The Samsung Srf533dls fridge is a great family fridge with ample storage space and movable shelves. The highlight of the fridge for me is the water dispenser accessible from the front of the fridge. Water leaking into crispers – We purchased this Samsung 533L French door refrigerator from Good Guys in 2019. This has been repaired 3 times in less than 6 months. The water fills the crisper so we have to throw away the food and water pools under the crispers and freezes over and then spills onto the kitchen floor. This is my second fridge a replacement by samsung – Samsung replaced my 527 french door with a 533L and its now doing exactly the same thing the first one did, Water in both vege crisper and icing up under them . I'm not as to why this fridge hasn't been recalled . I will be taking this further, as it is unable to be used for its sole purpose and samsung are more than aware of the issues .  Show details

Same issues as everyone else but even more – Purchased this fridge in 2016 from JB Hi Fi, worst fridge I have ever owned. Water leaks into crispers and floods all fruit and veggies, water dispenser leaks so badly we can not use. Front latch on door has snapped so need to hold manually to close. The rubbers in this fridge are the worst, alway mouldy . Clean them all the time but the way they overlap design seems to create mould.  Show details

company quoting the reference no. supplied , I was told this no. indicated that Samsung were not treating this problem as a warranty issue.Now having seen how many customers have had problems with this Samsung model I am disgusted that Samsung have not recalled and replaced them.Surely consumers should have better protection from these sorts of issues under Australian laws? Worst thing we have ever purchased – I wish i had researched this fridge before we bought it. We have the same problem as everyone else - water filling up our crisper draws and the floor of the fridge. I empty and clean the crispers every second day and litres of water leak into them. cant use - what a waste! It keeps happening again and again. We do everything we are supposed to, but it is useless. We followed instructions and took the top apart and defrosted the lines etc and 1week later the issue is happening again and again. Its not worth the large amount of money we have paid for it. NEVER buy this fridge. I am so turned off that i will never but a SAMSUNG product again.

Water leakage – The fridge leaks water in to the vegetable drawers. Water leak started just in 18 months time . I wouldn't recommend this fridge – I purchased this fridge in 2015. I had issues over an extended period with the fridge section freezing and water leaking down the back of the fridge into the vegetable drawers. samsung they advised the fridge is out of warranty so any actions will be at my own expense. I asked for this response to be put in writing which they told me they wouldn't do. I insisted so they said they would but put it in writing. I am yet to receive anything in writing but in the mean time Samsung have contacted to say they will get another person to review my case. I'm very disappointed in the product but lets hope the service from Samsung is better.

Complete Nightmare – Was ok for the first two years, nightmare after that. day off and stay at home for the technician (as they only work during the week), emptying the fridge and keeping it off for 24 hours every 9 months or so, you can only imagine…. Now there is water leaking in the Veg container again and Samsung won’t cover it as it is out of warranty, they don’t care this is a recurring issue. I own many Samsung products and as much as I like their audio/video (TV and homesteader etc), mobiles and computers, I hate their kitchen appliances. Stay away from this as it is a faulty product. Not recommended at all.

Dangerous product – Bottom glass shelf spontaneously shattered overnight,glass everywhere. Samsung added insult to injury and won’t replace even though the unit is less than a year old. a decent product – i got this fridge on promotion and is good value The machine is quiet and the temperature maintained consistently in all compartments and since it's samsung i dont think the warranty claim if needed would be a problem Cleaning is also not a problem. vegitable container part was not fixed properly – the fridge was good but the worst part is the vegetable cabinate is not fixing it properly ,the alignment is not fixing properly and when i closed the fridge door it was touching the cabinate and it cracked .the vegetable cabinate is not going all the way through inside .  Show details

Great fridge for the price – We bought this fridge on 29/1/18. It is quiet, has enough space inside for food and drink for four people.The interior lighting is brilliant. The fridge for $1280 comes with an icemaker and a non plumbed cold water dispenser. Exceptional value for the price. Delivery was prompt and courteous.
