I used to be a regular Scorptec customer when they had a store near my home. Their prices were good, and I was generally happy with the service there. After that branch closed, I started dealing with their online team, and the experience has been completely different. sometimes several weeks. With warranty tickets, I would often receive an automated message asking whether the issue had been resolved before anyone had actually replied to me. Responding would then start another long wait.
My last warranty issue became unnecessarily slow and complicated. After I complained about how it was being handled, they rejected the warranty claim and returned the faulty item to me. Every message during the process took another week or two, which made the whole experience extremely frustrating.
I was a loyal customer for years, but I will not shop with Scorptec again. There are other computer retailers that respond much faster and are far more helpful when something goes wrong.

It's a great keyboard, but after 2 months of dealing with online support, no solutions have been offered.
Scorptec sent me a broken motherboard. When I tried contacting support, I was on hold for over an hour with no answer, I tried multiple times. I ended up paying an external PC store to test it, who confirmed it was broken. When I returned it to Scorptec, they claimed it was broken because of the way I returned it, despite me having a report from that store stating it was already faulty. Now they're refusing a refund. Positive warrenty experience. Picked up components for a new PC from Scorptec Online. Thank you for making the process as painless as possible.

Amazing staff, great response time – Honestly couldn't approve of the way these guys handle business more. pc building or parts and I wanted a little exposure to it before I built my own. The pc they built handles great and with very concise and clear guidance from them I have managed to upgrade several components myself without a hitch, as well as have expanded my pc knowledge enough that I feel well onto my way into feeling brave enough to build my own and all I can say is thank you scorptec. You made this a lot less daunting and confusing as all my pc buddies made it sound.
While I appreciate that Scorptec probably is or was part of the same company that bought out getright and msy here in Adelaide; and probably also own Umart for all I know; I will not be dealing with Scorptec again. on the box claiming ‘our customers insist on a signature at delivery’ which is nonsense. I did no such thing. (Note that I wasn’t even given the option when ordering to select ‘signature delivery’ or ‘ standard delivery ‘ options)
Doesn’t sound like much, but to then be carded by Aust post (instead of leaving it in my parcel drop facility of our letter box), on a 39 degree C day; I then had to drive out to the post office to collect this item that I had just paid about as much as the item in delivery charges.. and obviously queue up and wait when there..
Just didn’t make sense to me - especially when I paid for it to come to me; not for me to go to it.

before it even hit their warehouse, no other notification sent to me about this, I stumbled on it.
Why would I pay for express postage for an item I think was in stock to only recieve it 2+ weeks later.
When I tried to post this quesiton on their website in the Q&A on the RPI5 8gb page, I got an email saying it had been moderated.
Dishonest practice of showing stock is there when they don't have it to send, then ontop of that taking additional payment for express postage that is redundant.
It STILL shows it in stock on site when it clearly isn't.
Pay the extra $10 and pick it up from your local Jaycar.
Check out the images to see how sneaky this practice is, get your money then make you wait. 1) Website displaying "In Stock" 2) Email saying delayed 3) Checking my account on their site, it is pushed back a further week with no updated notification 4) Tried to ask a question on the Q&A and it was "moderated"
I cant leave a review either as I haven't received it, explains why there are no other bad reviews on there.

It was amazing, it came in quick even during the easter holiday it came in like 2 days after th e holiday finished. I put an ethernet cable in it. That was pretty cool. Before i put the internet thing on it idk it worked though. Now i can play video games for example

I tried contacting them and explaining the situation and said I'd be willing to pay delivery as well as purchase a different board one that was $100 more expensive meaning they'd make a bigger sale and be able to resell the Asrock board, I got nothing but radio silence.
I told them I filed a report with the ACCC, and then they responded, the message was strange kinda passive aggressive, they made a comment about my ACCC report
"If you still think that an ACCC complaint is still necessary for this request, we won't stand in your way of your perceived rights."
I'm like you don't have the capability to stand in the way of customers rights, such a strange response.
Although I believe in my situation it would be considered change of mind and the ACCC most likely won't do much, I'd have to use the board and wait for my CPU to die before they'd help.
Although I recommend anyone who has a defective item within warranty to contact the ACCC and file a report you owe it to yourself and the customer after you, don't let them get away with dodgy business.
I asked if I could drive in to the store and return it that way, as there's a store 40 min away, figured the process would be quicker then sending it to Victoria, got no response, was going to call them and confirm I could do this, but after reading all these negative reviews I think I'm gonna cut my losses, I could return it to these guys they'd probably just take the motherboard resell it and not refund my money, their that maliciously incompetent.
I've already bought a different motherboard from computer alliance a store with a much better reputation, wouldn't recommend buying from scorptec.

Dishonest company. Ordered a wrong part but only realised after it was sent off, requested a return and sent their package back before opening it (at my expense). They went on to claim that the box and product had been opened and are pushing for a 15% restocking fee. Don't recommend but, if you want to deal with them, document and photograph everything. the motherboard, i went and bought MB/memory and CPU. tonight, I wanted to see if I can backup my RAID 0, but it was tied to the faulty motherboard, strix itx z390. turns out i had a spare one of those laying around, so was going to plug in the two drives and see if i can recover a few folders that were empty after being backed up. so i plug in my old PSU and it's not working, which was very odd as it was working when i tested it the other day. when i plugged in the CPU part of the plug, the PSU test still worked, when i plugged in the 24 pin as well, the PSU stopped working! so i tested with the old cable, and old PSU, and it worked! *now i have to return that MB/memory and CPU. so, the cable to the motherboard, is faulty, not only that, the PSU is completely dead. it doesn't have a PSU self test button, but apparently the fan should spin up when it gets power to it, this is not happening. tl;dr, given this major fault, i am requesting a refund, and i'm going to just use my old 650W Corsair RM650i.
"Our goods come with guarantees to our customer that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure."
===
I think the point I'm making, is that I gave the money to you, and not the vendor, ACL would state the refund comes from you. Please provide a full refund at your earliest convenience, as you have already determined the item has a major fault.
===
Please escalate this for a refund now
Under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), the responsibility for providing a remedy (refund, replacement, or repair) lies with the retailer who sold you the product, not the manufacturer.
The retailer cannot tell you to deal directly with the manufacturer—that’s illegal under ACL. They must offer a solution if the product fails to meet consumer guarantees (acceptable quality, fit for purpose, etc.)
You can also claim compensation from the manufacturer in some cases, but your primary right for a refund or replacement is against the supplier (Scorptec), because they sold you the PSU. [consumer.vic.gov.au]
If the fault is major (unsafe, doesn’t work as intended, or would not have been purchased if the issue was known), you can choose a refund or replacement from the retailer. [consumerpr....wa.gov.au]
So in short: Scorptec must refund or replace the PSU. They can later seek reimbursement from Lian Li, but that’s between them and the vendor—not your responsibility.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience I recently spent approximately $7,000 on components for a new server build from Scorptec. experienced constant PHY resets, accumulated over 200 UDMA CRC errors, and resulted in system instability.
After extensive troubleshooting and purchasing an additional PCIe SATA card to isolate and work around the issue, I was able to confirm the motherboard fault.
When I contacted Scorptec with documentary evidence of the problem, I was told they would not process a refund without physically returning the motherboard. While I understand this is their standard policy, I explained that disassembling the system again after the significant time investment in building and troubleshooting wasn't practical, particularly given that the defective component represents a relatively small percentage of my total spend with them.
Despite providing clear evidence of the fault and my circumstances, Scorptec was unwilling to make any exception to their policy. The lack of flexibility on a substantial order, especially when a workaround has already required additional expense, is disappointing.
I won't be purchasing from Scorptec again and would encourage others to consider retailers with more accommodating customer service policies for high-value orders.

Absolutely Terrible Experience – Avoid Scorptec! I’m honestly furious with how Scorptec handled my order. got there, they suddenly told me I’d have to come back later because it couldn’t be processed on the spot.
I waited FOUR WEEKS for the so-called “repair” or replacement, only to find out that it was “ready for pickup” instead of being delivered like I had originally selected. When I asked them to change it to delivery, they tried to charge me extra — even though I had chosen delivery for the return process in the first place!
By this point, I’d completely lost confidence in them and just wanted a refund so I could take my business elsewhere. Of course, that was denied too.
So not only did I receive a faulty product, but I also had to deal with weeks of waiting, poor communication, extra costs, and zero accountability. Scorptec clearly doesn’t care about customer satisfaction — once they’ve got your money, you’re on your own.
Never buying from them again. I’ll be going to another retailer that actually respects their customers.
