including the sinks, island bench, and bathrooms. These small imperfections took away from the otherwise great presentation.
One of the biggest disappointments was the corner cabinet design. The cabinet is so small that it’s practically impossible to access the space inside. When I raised this concern with Sherridon, I was told it was too late to fix and was made to feel like it was my responsibility to spot this design flaw—even though it clearly stems from the layout provided to us.
On a positive note, compared to all the previous site supervisors we had during the build, Rob, our final supervisor before handover, was exceptional. He was communicative, attentive, and consistently provided clear, well-taken photo updates. Thanks to his efforts, our home handover was completed efficiently and even before winter, as we had hoped.
In summary, while the house is beautiful and the overall outcome is something we’re pleased with, the journey had a mix of highs and lows—with standout praise going to Rob for his professionalism and communication.
Cody our site manager has been absolutely incredible. We have reached the lock up stage of our home ahead of schedule, he has been so communicative with updates, and has been so open inviting us at each stage to walk through the home and view the progress. This the fourth house we have built, and this has been the best experience. The whole team at Sherridon Gippsland have been fantastic from the very start to the finish. Shah and Janam Patel were amazing, dealing with my design changes and amendments to create the perfect family home. They helped guide me with the changes where my creativity had blindspots as well as advising on value adding changes rather than just cosmetic changes. I felt like they actually cared about me and they treated me like a family member.
Pre-Site:
Roughly took 10 months, this was because we went from designing a single storey house, to then completely throwing a spanner into the works by deciding to build a double storey.
We also had delays due to requiring Report and consent (which added 4-6weeks).
We had 3 CEC's during this time. Which some people may get annoyed about, but this didn't bother me as long as I was kept up to date. Ended up with Desiree who is very knowledgeable and thorough.
During the transitions between CEC's Nicole and James (operations management), were very helpful and talked me through everything.
Construction:
Went to site: 19th October 2024 - Handover: 8th August 2025
I had a very experienced Site Manager - who was promoted half way through, so I got a new Site Manager - Paul Zadunajsky, who was even better than my previous SM.
Paul, was and is nothing but MR Fantastic. Paul spoke to me regularly, kept me in the loop, told me of any issues or problems/delays and then advise on how he would be handling them. I learned so much because he took the time to educate me, this was my first building experience so I knew nothing.
Just like anything else that is man made, there were things he needed to sort out or fix, which Paul sorted out. If you build with Sherridon and get Paul, consider yourself blessed.
I should have listened to him when he told me the banks can take time to release the final payment and I should get onto it, because this caused massive panic on my end as I left it 2days before and nearly resulted in my wife contemplating whether she was going to end me. Luckily, for me, I spoke to Paul, my broker, my bank, Nicole from Ops and Demi from the accounts team, who were all lovely through out the process.
I got into my home last Friday and all crises were averted, happy wife, daughter, mum and dad.
I should have hired movers (anyone over 40yrs old and building a double storey house) - you are not young anymore, hire movers, you will thank me later.
All in all, the process of building a new home was not without its bumps, but given my satisfaction of how they were handled, and how the home has turned out, I would be stupid to give them anything but a 5/5, because I have to give credit where it is due.
I paid for something bespoke (most other builders wouldn't come close to allowing the changes I made nor come anywhere near the price), I ended up paying an extra $2,000 by the end of the build, and that's because I wanted something additional. Otherwise the build has nailed the estimated cost.

The experience with Sherridon throughout the build has been great. We had some delays with the bank prior to the build but Sherridon was really patient with us and waited for us to sort it out. Our site manager [Name Removed] updated us weekly via the Sherridon online customer dashboard and was always happy to answer any questions. We really liked that they got an independent inspector to review the house on the same day as the PCI because they already flagged everything that needs to be redone before we went in. This was reassuring because we were worried we were going to miss things during the PCI.
We had a couple of pricing variations after the contract was signed due to new rules introduced by the government as well as other things which was a bit frustrating. I wish there was a bit more forward thinking and provision made in to the contract so we didn’t have to scramble to pay for the additional costs. Also I wish we were contacted by phone by the customer liaison to explain the variations prior to sending them via email.
Overall, we are pretty happy with the house and our experience.

Throughout the builder, they delivered high quality work, with a process that was smooth and consistent.

So the saga goes on 90 thousand dollars later, still an unfinished home that needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. a little. Few items were picked up during PCI which were acknowledged by the builder and fixed. I wanted the handover early which they honoured my request thanks to supervisor burak, Manager brent and ralph P for that. This was my second build with sherridon homes and i can say that i am satisfied with the build.
Follow-up · There were alot of issues, from paint job to wrong hardware ,we were told site supervisor will handle this in the first three months but only a few issues were resolved and site supervisor referred us to contact warranty department. It took another 6 months to get everything fixed. But then there are minor issues keep popping up like cracks in bricks or cracks in cornice, warped doors etc.

My home was completed in 2021, and within the statutory warranty period the floor tiles in both bathroom shower areas developed significant cracks that have continued to worsen. An independent engineering report commissioned by my insurer identified possible construction-related causes for the tile cracking, including slab shrinkage, rigid grout joints without adequate movement allowance, and load transfer from wall tiles, yet the builder still refused to honour the warranty.
As a homeowner, I expected a new home to be free from defects and for the builder to investigate and rectify problems that arose during the warranty period. Instead, I have been forced to pursue formal dispute resolution through DBDRV.
Based on my experience, I found the after-sales service and warranty support to be very disappointing. I hope the builder will take greater responsibility for legitimate warranty claims in the future.

first-time homeowner, I felt the contract terms and the process for managing variations were not adequately explained, cant be justified for company with this size. We were repeatedly issued couple of variations and were asked to make immediate payment, which created considerable financial pressure and felt highly unprofessional. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would certainly not use them again. Note: After submitting feedback internally to the company regarding these issues, I received a communication indicating the possibility of legal action should I choose to share my experience publicly.

Post hand-over, after living in the house, as you do, start to realise some things that you may not have noticed when doing walk-throughs. All these items were bought up to the builder for rectification. They initially responded to the first email, however, now I am getting crickets! It feels like Sherridon are more interested in showing you interest, but once that have your money, your kicked to the curb. The issues which I have bought to attention to Sherridon homes is the scratches across ALL my windows. These scratches were not made post-handover. Holes and imperfections are visible through all my flyscreens. Some of my kitchen cupboards have been un-usable as they are unable to be opened at all. All this information was taken down by Sherridon appointed 3-month inspector. I am currently in the process of reporting him as a missing person, as he has disappeared, just like my communication from Sherridon homes.
If you're looking for a homebuilder that's going to take your money and give you minimal aftercare, then Sherridon is the company for you. Like I said, during the build they were fantastic, but that's because they didn't have my money in their hands yet. I will be going elsewhere for my future business.

chase them up multiple times to get even the most basic updates.
Worse still, the final outcome deviated noticeably from what was clearly stated in the contract. The agreed-upon details were not followed, and the lack of accountability was unacceptable. It felt like once the contract was signed, attention to customer service and commitment to the agreed work dropped off entirely.
Please don’t be misled by a lower price point—it’s simply not worth the stress, frustration, and lack of peace of mind. Building a home is a major life event, and you need a builder with a solid reputation and integrity. Unfortunately, in my case, Sheriddon Homes did not live up to that standard.
